PROBLEM SOLVING METHODS - Specimen
Dr. Vidhya, Assistant Professor of Mathematics showed a couple of videos related to
mathematics and had a discussion after watching each video. Two interesting videos for
the students were selected to watch and learn from it – i. Base 12 Number System and
ii. Logic and making algorithms to solve problems.
The students were invited. The invitation reads, “Do you wish to have six fingers
instead of five? Some mathematicians do! Why??? Do you believe that stable marriage
can be attained in this world using mathematics? Some mathematicians do! How???
In the gallery room by using the white screen discussions were carried out and question-
answering session followed. Though it is about Base 12 number system they discussed
about binary, octal, and hexadecimal systems so that the students get more
understanding on these areas.
