Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Spiva Library Supporters,
It’s been several years since our friend and colleague Art Saltzman passed away. You may recall that a memorial fund for library book purchases was established to honor his memory. To keep you informed, I offer this update of recent activity.
Each year the library purchases the winning publications for various literary awards that were meaningful to Art. The awards Circle Award, the National Book Award, the Nobel Prize in Literature, the National Poetry Series Open Competition Award, the Pen/Faulkner Fiction Award, and the ALA Notable Books Award. Since establishing the Saltzman Memorial Fund, many titles that demonstrate literary excellence in the areas of fiction, noncollection. This is tremendously helpful to the library and very beneficial to oof the most recent titles that have been added to our collection is enclosed.
The annual cost to purchase these awardto consider donating to the Saltzman Memorial Fund so that we mmemory by bringing valuable resources to the library.enclosed.

establishing the Saltzman Memorial Fund, many titles that demonstrate literary excellence in the areas of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry have been added to the Spiva Library collection. This is tremendously helpful to the library and very beneficial to oof the most recent titles that have been added to our collection is enclosed.
The annual cost to purchase these award-winning titles is approximately $800. I encourage you to consider donating to the Saltzman Memorial Fund so that we may continue to honor Art’s memory by bringing valuable resources to the library. Information about how to contribute is
