The Spiritual Enthusiasm of the Madan Child

It was the later part of the night. The whole of Madna was gleamingwith Nr. The people of Madna, covered with the shawl of mercy,were fast asleep. Meanwhile, the call of Main of Prophet,Sayyidun Bill

echoed in the streets of Madna-tul-

Munawwarah Today after al-tul-Fajr, an army ofMujidn (Muslim warriors) is going to depart for a campaign.Therefore, the honourable women of Madna-tul-Munawwara

should send their princes (sons) in the court ofRaslull making them the grooms of Heaven.

A widowabiyya was sleeping beside her six yearsold orphan child in her home. On hearing the call of SayyidunBill , she woke up instantly. The old wound of her heartopened up. The orphans father had been martyred last year inthe battle of Badr. Once again, the tree of Islam was in the need

of blood for survival, but she did not have any one else except asix year old orphan child. She could no longer control her sentimentsand burst into tears. The voice of sobbing awakened the sleepingMadan child. Upon seeing his mother crying, he asked anxiously,Mother! Why are you crying? How could the mother explain thepain of her heart?! Her crying and sobbing intensified. Seeing the

mother crying, the Madan child also began to cry. The mothertried to comfort him, but he was anxious to know the cause of hismothers crying.

Finally, controlling her emotions, she said, Son! Just now, SayyidunBill made an announcement that the army of warriors

is departing towards the battlefield. The Holy Prophet has called out his beloved devotees to sacrifice their livesfor the survival of Islam. How fortunate are the mothers whowill present their young sons as a gift in the court of the Prophet saying Y Raslull ! We havebrought our loved ones to sacrifice them at your feet. Y Raslull ! Accept our gifts, accept our life long efforts. Havingsaid this, she started crying again and said in a sorrowful voice,

If only I also had a young son, I would also present my gift inthe court of the Prophet of All !

Seeing his mother crying again, the Madan child became anxiousand, consoling and comforting her, said enthusiastically Belovedmother! Dont cry. Present me in the court of the Prophet of All . The mother spoke, Son! You are so young;the warriors have to face and fight against brutal enemies in the

battlefield, you wont be able to bear the attack of the sword. Themother tried to convince her son, but finally, she had to surrenderon account of her sons insistence.

After Fajr al Mujidn had gathered outside Masjid-e-Nabaw . Having given necessary instructions to the Mujidn,

the beloved and blessed Prophet noticed a veiledlady standing at a side along with her 6 year old Madan child. TheBeloved of All sent Sayyidun Bill to askabout the reason of their arrival. Sayyidun Bill went towardsthem with his eyes lowered and asked the purpose of arrival. Thelady replied with a sorrowful voice, Today during the later part of

the night, you passed by my house calling out. Hearing your call,my heart became anxious. Apart from this orphan child, whosefather was martyred last year in the battle of Badr, I have no othermale who I could present for Jihad (war for Islamic cause). Myonly asset is this child whom I have brought to sacrifice at the feetof the Prophet . Listening to this, Sayyidun Bill

picked up the Madan child and took him to the court ofthe Prophet of All whom he described thewhole matter. The beloved Prophet showed

kindness and affection towards the child but did not permit himto participate in the war due to his young age. (Mkh-az-Zulf-o-

May All have mercy upon them and forgive us for theirsake!

We have Time for the World but

Dear Islamic Brothers! Did you see the spiritual enthusiasm ofthe Madan child! How intensely the Muslim mothers of thepast loved All, His blessed Rasl and Islam!Those who send their loved ones to other cities and even othercountries for several years to earn wealth of this mortal worldbut refuse to send them for a short while to the weekly Ijtimof Dawat-e-Islami which takes place in their own city and

those who prevent their loved ones from travelling with theMadan Qfila for a few days to learn Sunna, all of such peopleshould learn a lesson from this parable. We are hesitant tosacrifice just a little time but our pious saints were prepared tosacrifice even their life and wealth in the path of All .

Mother of four MartyrsIt is written in Usd-ul-Ghba, volume 7, page 100, that SayyidatunKhans along with her 4 sons participated in the battle of

Qdisiyya which was fought during the caliphate of SayyidunUmar Frq-e-Aam .

Sayyidatun Khans advised her four sons in thesewords just a day before the battle, My dear children! You embracedIslam and migrated afterwards of your own accord. By All !You are legitimate. I have not spoilt your lineage. You know thatAll has stored great awb for Mujidn who fight against

disbelievers. Remember! The everlasting hereafter is far greaterthan this mortal world. Listen! All says in the Holy Qurn,Sra Al-e-Imrn, ya 200:-

Translation from Kanz-ul-Imn

O People who believe! Endure and surpass your enemies in

endurance, and guard the frontiers of the Islamic nation; and keep

fearing All , hoping that you may succeed.

Having recited the foregoing ya, Sayyidatun Khans continued to advise: O my sons! Fight tactfully in the battlefieldtomorrow morning and advance towards the enemies whilstasking for help from All When you see that the war has

intensified, jump into the blazing fire of the battle and fightagainst the leader of the disbelievers. You will dwellin Heaven with honour and happiness.

Next morning, all the four sons of Sayyidatun Khans fought vigorously against the disbelievers and all of them drank the

beverage of martyrdom one after another. When their honourablemother heard the news of her sons martyrdom, instead ofwailing, she said, I am grateful to All who has blessed mewith the honour of being the mother of four martyrs. I hope by themercy of All that He will grant me an abode inHeaven with my four martyred sons. (Us-dul-Ghba, V7, P100-101,

Mammads devotees do not fear from sacrificing life

They are ready all the time even to be beheaded

May All have mercy upon them and forgive us for their

sake!

Lip-ServiceDear Islamic Brothers! Let me ask you as to which sort of determinationwas that which had made every man and woman and even childrentrue devotees of Islam! They were perfect Muslims who possessedover-whelming spiritual enthusiasm but todays Muslims faith

has become weak. They always strived to gain the pleasure ofAll and His Beloved Prophet , but sadly, todaysMuslims seem to have become heedless of it. They were lost in the

love of All and the Beloved Prophet , butunfortunately, todays Muslims are engrossed in the love of

this world! They possessed superb characters but todays Muslimshave just adopted lip-service! Millions of regret! We have made arod for our own back by being engrossed in the world, driftingaway from Divine Commandments, polluting our lives with sinsand adopting non-Islamic fashion instead of adopting the Sunna ofour beloved Prophet

. All says in the HolyQurn, Sra Rad, ya 11:


Verily, All

alters not His blessing from any people untilthey themselves alter their condition.

(Sra Rad, verse 11)Millions of regret! We are quickly falling into the deep abyss ofdisgrace and humiliation as a result of not acting upon Divine

Commandments and Sunna. There was a time when the disbelieversused to tremble on just hearing the name of the Muslims but todaythe Muslims have been afraid of the disbelievers.

Create a Sense of ResponsibilityDear Islamic Brothers! Take a serious look at your character.Repent of your sins sincerely and develop a renewed spiritual

enthusiasm in you. Develop the mindset that I must strive toreform myself and the people of the whole world. !

Realizing the significance of this great Madan Mission, if youmake a steadfast intention to achieve it, whist lost in the loveof All and His beloved Prophet , you willsucceed not only in the world but also in the hereafter.

Healing and Beholding in Madan Qfila

Dear Islamic Brothers! By the grace of All ! By travellingwith the Sunna-inspiring Madan Qfilas of Dawat-e-Islami,

one attains enormous blessings of the world and the Hereafterby virtue of the company of Prophets devotees. Let me describeone of such blessings for your persuasion. Therefore, an Islamicbrother from Punjab narrates, I came to Faizn-e-Madna, Karachi,the global Markaz of Dawat-e-Islami to attend Tarbiyat course.During the course, on a Thursday at about 4 a.m., I felt pain atmy left side. The pain was so severe that seven painkillers wereinjected to me, I felt a little relief. As usual, I attended the weeklySunna-inspiring Ijtim on Thursday. The same night at about10 p.m., I felt the pain again, but it was relieved due to the blessingof Du of the Ijtim. After about an hour, I had thepain once

again, the doctors injected three more painkillers, I felt muchrelieved. I was in such a condition that as soon as I consumedanything, I felt the same severe pain. Three or four painkillers

with drips used to be injected to me everyday. I also had anultrasound done, but the doctors could not diagnose the cause

of the pain. While I was in hospital, I heard that other Islamicbrothers of Tarbiyat course were making preparations for atwelve day Sunna-inspiring Madan Qfila. The doctorsadvised me not to travel but I could not help joining theMadan Qfila. During the journey, I experienced a little painwhile we were on our way to ayra Bugt, Baluchistan. Duringthe Madan Qfila, we also attended the weekly Sunna-inspiringIjtim held at Sui on Thursday, and then returned to ayraBugt. ! By the blessing of travelling with the MadanQfila; my pain disappeared as if there was no pain at all before.

I did not have that pain ever since. The greatest blessing

I attained during the Madan Qfila was that I beheld theHoly Prophet in my dream.

To gain mercy, travel with Madan Qfila

To learn Sunna, travel with Madan Qfila

If you have headache or backache

You will heel, travel with Madan Qfila

If you have the desire of beholding the

Holy Prophet

Your desire may be fulfilled, travel with Madan Qfila

The Sacrifices of the Holy Prophet

Dear Islamic brothers! In order to reform ourselves and the peopleof the whole world, we must inculcate in us the enthusiasm ofmaking sacrifice. Nothing can be gained without making sacrifice.

Just the imagination of the great sacrifices of our Beloved Prophet for Islam makes one tremble with grief. TheBeloved of All

was distressed beyond measure

in the path of All . Every possible hurdle was created in hispath. He was stoned. The disbelievers were bentupon even to martyr our Holy Prophet butstill he did not lose his courage. By the graceof All and as a result of our Holy Prophets untiring

efforts, the enemies became friends. Those who were bent ontaking life began to sacrifice their lives. Those preventingothers from reverting to Islam not only reverted themselvesbut also started persuading others to embrace Islam. Today, the blessings of Islam are found throughout the world; bythe grace of All , it became possible as a result of the

efforts of our beloved Prophet and the sacrifices ofhis devoted companions .

Excellence of Teaching Virtues

Dear Islamic Brothers! You should also get prepared to make sacrificesfor carrying out call towards righteousness, thus, getting the treasure

of good deeds. Imm Ab Nu'am Amad bin Abdull Afan (who passed away in 430 A.H.) narrates in ilya-tul-

Auliy: All sent a revelation to Sayyidun Musa , Learn virtues yourself and teach (them) others; I willbrighten the graves of those who learn and teach virtues so that theywould not have any fear. (ilya-tul-Auliy, V6, P7622, Dr-ul-Kutub-ul-Ilmiyya Beirut)

The Graves of Muballighn will Shine

The foregoing narration highlighted the awb of learning andteaching righteous things. Those who deliver or listen to Sunnainspiring Bayn or Dars are very fortunate. The inside oftheir graves will be bright and they will not feel any sort of fear.

Those who carry out call towards righteousness making individualefforts, those who persuade others to travel with Madan Qfilaand fill in their Madan Inmt card daily through Fikr-e-Madna,those who invite others to attend the Sunna inspiring Ijtim andthose who listen to the call towards righteousness, thegraves of all these people will also shine by virtue of the Nr of theBeloved of All .

Entry into Heaven and Expiation for Previous Sins

Dear Islamic Brothers! How fortunate are the Islamic brotherswho travel with Madan Qfila with the intention of learningreligious knowledge! For them, there is a glad-tiding of entry into

Heaven and expiation of previous sins. Therefore, listen to twonarrations in this regard and sway in delight:

1. Sayyidun Abu Sad Khudr narrates:

Translation

The one who proceeds in the morning or evening to learnreligious knowledge will enter the Heaven.

(ilya-tul-Auliy, V7, P295, Dr-ul-Kutub-ul-Ilmiyya Beirut, Sirj-ul-

Munr Shar Jmi-us-aghrV4, P312)

2. The one who acquires (religious) knowledge, his acquisitionbecomes expiation for his previous sins. (Sunan Tirmi, V4,

P294, ad 2657, Dr-ul-Fikr Beirut)

Excellence of Travelling in the Path of All

The awb of al, fasting, and Zikr done in the

path of All also multiplies. Therefore, it is narrated inSunan Abu Dwd: The Intercessor of Umma, the Prophet ofRama, the Owner of Janna, the Sovereign of Madna

said, Without doubt, the awb of offering al,fasting and Zikr is 700 times more than that of spending money inthe path of All . (Sunna Abu Dwd, V3, P13, ad 2498, Dr

Iy-ut-Tur-ul-Arab Beirut) Now listen what the awb of spendingmoney in the path of All is.

Seven Hundred Dirams in exchange for one

DiramTherefore, it is stated in Sunan Ibn-e-Mja: The one whosends money in the path of All , though he stays at hishome, receives the awb of 700 Dirams for each Diram. Theone who fights in the path of All as well as spends (money)will receive the awb of 7 hundred thousand Dirams in exchange

for each Dirham. Having said that, the beloved Prophet recited the following ya of Sra Baqara:


(And All may increase more than that for whomsoever He

likes)

490 Million Times awb

Dear Islamic brother! Sway in delight! The result obtained by thecombination of aforementioned two Ad is that the awb ofal, fast and Zikr done in the path of All multiplies 490million times! Further, there is also a glad-tiding that All may increase it for whomsoever He likes. This multipliedawb is not for every good deed; rather, it is specific for al,

Fast and Zikr, as mentioned in the narration of Ibn-e-Mja.

Travelling for Worldly Causes

Ponder for a moment! Today, people desire to have increase inpay or income. They travel from one town to another and evenone country to another country just for earning worldly wealthstaying away from their parents, wives and children for years.People are prepared to make all sorts of sacrifices for gettingworldly benefits but they are not ready to travel in the way of

All in the form of Madan Qfila for just a few days despitesuch great awb.

One Hundred Qfilas

Dear Islamic brother! Ponder for a moment! Our beloved andblessed Prophet

sent approximately 100 Madan

Qfila during the period of 10 years that he spent in Madna. Amongst them he travelledwith 27 Madan Qfila in person. (Fat-ul-Br li ibn-e- ajr, V7,

P239-240, Tat-al-ad 3949) In some Madan Qfila there were3,000 participants whilst there were 10,000 in some and 1,000 in

others. Some consisted of 500 participants whilst others comprised313, 30, 15, 10 and some just 8. Some Madan Qfila travelled for28 days whilst some travelled for 15 days. Those Madan Qfilawere not greeted with flowers or calls of welcome. They weregreeted with blood thirsty swords! Those who travelled with theseQfila not only sacrificed their time and wealth, but they also did

not hesitate to sacrifice even their lives. All-u-Akbar! They toleratedgreat difficulties for Islam; on the contrary, we seem to havedevoted our whole life to worldly achievements only.

Demonstrate your courage and spiritual enthusiasm! Make theintention of travelling with Madan Qfila, paying practical homageto the great sacrifices made by our beloved and blessed Prophet and his devoted companions . No one will create hurdles in your way, nor you will be stoned.People will welcome you with open arms.

The Hospitality of Madan Qfila by Dtur

Dear Islamic brothers! How immense bounty and benevolenceis granted to the travellers of Madan Qfila! Listen and makeup your mind to travel with Madan Qfila. Therefore, the participantsof a Madan Qfila narrate that their Madan Qfila stayed in theMasjid adjacent to the shrine of Dt ib in the city ofMarkaz-ul-Auliy Lahore for three days. According to the schedule,they were busy learning Sunna. Meanwhile, a person arrived andtreated them very politely. The newcomer then said, !The star of my fortune shone last night. I had a dream in which I

sawurDt Ganj Baksh Al ajwar who said tome, A Madan Qfila of Dawat-e-Islami is staying in my Masjid

for three days. Prepare food for them. Therefore, I have preparedfood for the delight of the participants of the Madan Qfila. Pleaseaccept it.

Dear Islamic Brothers! In the end of my speech, Ill get the privilegeof describing the excellence of Sunna as well as some Sunan and

Islamic manners. The Beloved of All, the Intercessor of Umma, said: Whoever loved my Sunna loved me andwhoever loved me will be with me in Heaven. (Mishk-tul-Mab,V1, P55, ad 175, Dr-ul-Kutub-ul-Ilmiyya Beirut)

Eleven Madan Pearls of Salm

1. It is Sunna to say Salm to a Muslim while meeting him.2. The summary of a clause quoted in Maktabat-ul-Madinas

published book Bar-e-Sharat (volume 16, page 102) isas follows: When you are about to say Salm, the followingintention should be present in your heart: The assets andhonour of the one to whom I am going to say Salm are undermy safeguard and I consider it arm to harm any of thesethings.

3. Even if one meets other Muslims many times or he entersand leaves a room again and again, it is an act of awb to

say Salm each time to the Muslims he meets.

4. It is Sunna to be the first in saying Salm.

5. The person who is first to say Salm is closer to All .6. The person who says Salm first is free from pride. The Beloved

of All said: The person who says Salm firstis free from pride. (Shuabul-ul-Imn, V6, P433)

7. The person who says Salm (first) receives 90 mercies andthe one who replies receives 10. (Kmy-e-Sadat)

One receives the awb of 10 good deeds for saying , 20 good deeds if is added, 30 if is alsoadded. Some people add and , but this isincorrect. Some people add other words according to theirwhims, regarding which, Imm of Al-us-Sunna,Mujaddidof the Umma, Reviver of Sunna, Destroyer of Bida, Scholar

of Sacred Law, Guide of Spirituality, Fountain of AllmaMauln Al-j Al-fi Al-QrAsh-Sha Imm AmadRaz Khn writes in his Classical Book ofIslamic Jurisprudence, Fatw-e-Razavyya (volume 22,page 409): One should at least say the words

; it isbetter to add and it would be best to add , but

nothing more is required.

The one replying must say at least the same words; however,it is better to add the aforementioned words. For example,if one is greeted with

then he should reply with

, then he should reply with the same wordswithout any addition.

9. The one replying can receive 30 good deeds as well bysaying in return.

10. It is Wjib [obligatory] to reply with Salm immediately in avoice audible to the one who greeted you with Salm.

11. Learn the correct pronunciation of Salm. First, I will say itthen you repeat what I say ( ( , now I willsay the reply and you repeat it,

most of the people mispronounce the reply to Salm. Someonesays,

someone says,

someone says, Listen to the reply carefully.
