Honoring Christine Baranski with the 4th annual Spirit of
Katharine Hepburn Award
The Kate’s annual Summer Gala is a not-to-be-missed event
that attracts an affluent audience of local and loyal patrons,
summer residents, and business partners. This year will be
even more spectacular as we celebrate 10 years as an arts
hub in the community! As the Kate’s largest benefit event,
proceeds support our diverse programming and arts educa-
tion initiatives throughout the year. With the addition of the
Spirit of Katharine Hepburn Award, the Summer Gala has
garnered media attention from local and national outlets.

As part of our ongoing stewardship of
Katharine Hepburn’s legacy, the Kate
presents the Spirit of Katharine
Hepburn Award to an individual who
embodies the spirit, independence, and
character of the legendary actress.
2016 Dick Cavett
Host of “The Dick Cavett Show,” which
boasted one of the most famous inter-
views with Ms. Hepburn.
2017 Glenn Close
Inspired to continue acting profession-
ally while in college when she watched
Ms. Hepburn’s interview on “The Dick
Cavett Show.”
2018 Ann Nyberg
Connecticut’s longest-serving, full-time
female news anchor/reporter and
author of “Remembering Katharine
Hepburn.”
This year, we are thrilled to present the 4th annual Spirit of
Katharine Hepburn Award to Christine Baranski. One of the
entertainment industry’s most honored actresses, Christine
Baranski is an Emmy, two-time Tony, Screen Actors Guild,
Drama Desk and American Comedy Award winner. Star of
the hit CBS show “The Good Fight”, Ms. Baranski was induct-
ed into the Theatre Hall of Fame in November 2018.
The Gala promises to be a fun-filled evening of cocktails, dinner prepared by Max Catering, an exciting auction, and dancing to the funky sound of Ruby Velle & the Soulphonics. Please consider joining us as a sponsor of the 10th anniver-
