CLEAN AIR

The volute inlet produces a smooth transition from pressure-energy to rotational momentum (centrifugal force) without the fluid flow stream colliding with the inlet flow. In conventional cyclones, generally, the feed inlet is tangential and the feed fluid stream collides with the spiraling fluid causing turbulence. Turbulent fluid circulation in a cyclone will cause significant separation inefficiency.

INTRODUCTION:

AIR CORE

Cyclone separators are devices that utilize rotational energy that is converted into centrifugal force to separate materials of different densities - solid particles from a compressible fluid such as air and gas.

EFFICIENCY:Separation efficiency is determined by the cyclone geometrical parameters, the density of the solids and the rotational velocity of the air stream. It is essential that the geometry of each internal component be designed to promote a smooth transition in maintaining laminar flow characteristics.

SOLIDS CONCENTRATION

The SPINTOP CYCLONE has three outstanding features that are unique to the design of conventional cyclones; (1) Volute feed inlet, (2) A bell-shaped vortex finder and (3) A solid center core.

SPINTOP CYCLONE installed on a surge tank. The concentrated dust collected in the cycloneis drawn into the RADIAL PREMIXER and converted into a liquid.

DUST RECOVERY SYSTEM (DRY APPLICATIONS)Pneumatic conveying barite directly to a LOBESTAR® SHEAR/MIXER, eliminating a surge tank.

SPINTOP CYCLONE installed with a Recovery Canister – conversion of dust into a liquid. The liquid is drawn into the mixing chamber of the LOBESTAR® SHEAR/MIXER.

Figure 1-3 Illustrates the conversion of dust into a useable liquid. The air/gas is expelled through the SPINTOP Vortex Finder. Figure 4 Illustrates the recovery of vented dust by pneumatically conveying it back to a P-tank.
