PVC mono-layer dies

PVC mono-layer dies consist of only a few individual parts, which is a significant advantage in maintenance. Optimized flow channels en-sure short material dwell times, an attribute of special benefit above all in applications with a low output level, such as small, thin-walled pipes, or for materials with minimal stability. For customized applications, battenfeld-cincinnati offers twin-strand pipe extrusion dies.

The PVC pipe market not only demands dies for foam core pipe production, which is now widespread, but also solutions for divers compact executions, such as pipe with a middle layer made from regrind or with high filler content. To meet these demands, battenfeld-cincinnati offers a variety of multi-layer pipe dies. Depending on the requirements, latest generation, compact 3-layer dies or conventional feedblock systems with a pipe head are being used.

battenfeld-cincinnati meets the demand for small, compact 3-layer dies with two different die systems. The first system is based on a disc design and therefore ideally suited for simple and quick dismantling. It is used for middle and high throughput applications, both for foam core pipe as well as for compact 3-layer pipe. The second system from the battenfeld-cincinnati portfolio features an extremely small flow channel volume and two distributors for the inner and middle layer that are independent of material viscosity. These dies are used in the lower and middle throughput range, for foam core pipe as well as compact and highly-filled 3-layer pipe. Due to their modular design, these dies are also available as 2-layer dies. In addition, a feedblock system with pipe head is available for processing with very high throughputs and for larger pipe dimension up to 710 mm.

All battenfeld-cincinnati multi-layer dies are designed for a layer distribution (e.g.: 3-layer foam core pipe) of 15-20% outer layer, 60-70% middle layer and 15-20% inner layer as standard, adaptations to other required layer distributions are possible as an option. Moreover, all PVC 3-layer pipe dies come with a distribution adapter with integrated flow regulation for feeding the two outer layers via one extruder as standard.
