Designed for tough workingenvironmentsThe EPA (L) series is suitable for the toughestworking environments. As standard the EPA(L) radars incorporate:

• Exceptional target detection andperformance in adverse weatherconditions.

• Extremely robust power supplies,employing the latest power factorcorrection techniques, which allow it tooperate over a very wide voltage range of92V to 276V, 47 to 64Hz. This ensures that

the radar remains operational even withsevere ship’s power fluctuations.

• Meets the Russian Register of Shippingminimum operating temperature of -40°Cfor the turning unit and transceiver.

Simple InstallationAs with all Sperry Marine BridgeMaster Eseries of radars, an important factor in thedesign is ease of installation andcommissioning.

Serial data is used to communicate betweenthe transceiver and display which greatlyreduces the amount of cabling needed. Theoptional performance monitor is built intothe turning unit eliminating a need forseparate installation kits.

Navigation DataThe Sperry Marine BridgeMaster E radarsaccept navigation data directly fromcompatible navigation sensors.

In addition to own ship’s position and cursorlatitude and longitude, the radar can displaythe vessel’s voyage plan. This provides theoperator with an immediate indication ofwhether own ship is on track. This feature isparticularly valuable for stand-alone radarinstallations where an Electronic ChartSystem (ECS) is not available.

With a navigation sensor supplied by SperryMarine, the radar will display the previousand next nine waypoints.

PlottingThe Sperry Marine BridgeMaster EPA (L)electronic plotting aid has the ability tomanually plot up to ten targetssimultaneously, with comprehensive data foreach target displayed.

Radar MapsThe Sperry Marine BridgeMaster E EPA (L)radar maps are constructed by the operatorin a multi-layer format allowing theoperator to select different information to bedisplayed on the radar screen. The color andsymbols comply with the requirements of theIEC specification for radar maps. Data isautomatically aligned through thenavigation input and maps are storedinternally within the system.
