■ Spending on pharmaceutical advertising totalledZl914 million* in Poland in 2004, making up 7.7% oftotal advertising expenditure for the year, reportsScrip. More than 50% of pharmaceutical advertisingcosts were accounted for by analgesics, vitamins, andcold/‘flu remedies, with budgets of Zl186.4 million,Zl167.3 million and Zl135.8 million, respectively. USpharma company Pharmacia had four of the top nineproducts by expenditure in the list of advertisements,with their ibuprofen, acetaminophen/caffeine andparacetamol/pseudoephedrine/dextromethorphanproducts holding the largest advertising budgets(Zl45.9 million, Zl37.6 million and Zl26 million,respectively).* Polish zloty
