PharmacoEconomics & Outcomes News 473 - 12 Mar 2005 Spending on pharmaceutical advertising totalled Zl914 million * in Poland in 2004, making up 7.7% of total advertising expenditure for the year, reports Scrip. More than 50% of pharmaceutical advertising costs were accounted for by analgesics, vitamins, and cold/‘flu remedies, with budgets of Zl186.4 million, Zl167.3 million and Zl135.8 million, respectively. US pharma company Pharmacia had four of the top nine products by expenditure in the list of advertisements, with their ibuprofen, acetaminophen/caffeine and paracetamol/pseudoephedrine/dextromethorphan products holding the largest advertising budgets (Zl45.9 million, Zl37.6 million and Zl26 million, respectively). * Polish zloty Pharma accounts for 7.7% of total advertising spend in Poland.
