LexisNexis ALCoder fi eld names and defi nitionsALCoder supports the following fi elds:

• Addressee: This contains a list of people to whom the document was sent or addressed.

• Author: This is the author of the document.

• Bates First: This is the DocID or Bates number of the fi rst page of the document, as supplied by the load fi le.

• Batch Name: This is a user-defi ned name for the batch of documents in which the document was processed, which is helpful for tracking purposes.

• CC: This is a list of people copied on the document, including blind copies.

• Dates Mentioned: This contains a list of all dates mentioned in the document that were not classifi ed as the document date.

• Document Date: This is the date of the document.

• Document Type: This is the type of document, or indications of characteristics such as whether the document is marked as confi dential. This fi eld may contain multiple values.

• EstDate: This fi eld will contain the word “Yes” if ALCoder is unsure that it found the correct document date. Otherwise, it will be blank.

• Keywords: This contains a list of user-defi ned keywords found in the document.

• Names Mentioned: This contains a list of all names mentioned in the document outside of the Author, Addressee, or CC lists.

• Organizations Mentioned: This contains a list of all organizations mentioned in the document.

• Other Numbers: This contains a categorized list of other numbers, such as telephone numbers, mentioned in the document.

• Score: This represents the amount of information that the ALCoder algorithms were able to extract from the document. The score may be A, B, C, D, or F. Note that a low score indicates that ALCoder could not fi nd much information that corresponds to the fi elds it codes. This typically occurs for documents that contain little text information (such as photographs or documents with unreadable OCR text) or non-correspondence-type documents (such as spreadsheets) that may not contain the specifi c kinds of information ALCoder seeks.

• Title: This is the title or subject line of the document.

• TitleString: This contains information (up to 254 characters) from the beginning of the document. This is intended as a potential document summary or an alternate title when ALCoder could fi nd no clear title or subject line.
