NIUGINI DIVE ADVENTURES

Operate a full PADI Dive Facility provid-

ing instructing, land and live aboard

The Cinema Bar is located in the cen-

tral complex where late release NILFLIX

or SBS movies are shown 8-10pm daily

plus major sporting events. Accessible

to guests only.

GIFT SHOP

The Gift Shop is located in the Central

complex stocking handicraft, artefacts,

T and Bula Shirts, shell jewellery, um-

brellas, pottery, coffee and souvenirs.

MARINA

The Marina and slipway is located be-

side Sugen Aben Park.

HAUS KAVING

There is a Haus Kaving stocking hand-

craft, Bilum Bags and traditional shell

jewellery near the Marina.

BUGGY VEHICLES

The Resort operates a fleet of electric

buggy cars to provide transfers within

the property.

Fast Wi-Fi is available in most rooms

and all public rooms and restaurants.

SANA CONVENTION CENTRE

The SANA ROOM is the major

venue for national and inter-

national conferences. It has a

total capacity of 400 in theatre

style seating & 300 for ban-

quet setting. The Sana Room

can be divided into three

smaller rooms to cater for

smaller conferences as shown

on the adjacent plan.

The Sana Room is carpeted,

fully air conditioned with video

projection, screens and televi-

sion to allow for video confer-

encing. Wireless PA system,

conference system and WiFi is

available.

A kitchen can provide full ca-

tering with a servery for buffet

or table d’hote. There is a

cocktail bar and secretarial

office. Toilets are available in

all 3 divided rooms.

TAMENDECK? BOARD ROOM

The Tamendeck? Board Room is located on the mezzanine floor in the

central complex . It as executive seating for 12 around a cedar polished

table, carpet floor and a 55” flat screen TV and video recorder with ac-

cess to more than 30 Satellite channels. A video projector and screen

are also available with fast internet capable for satellite video confer-

encing.

There is a kitchenette which can be used as a servery for lunches and

dinners and a reception area is located at the entrance which can be

used for secretarial functions.

Immediately opposite is the Business Centre with PC’s and printer for

use by guests and patrons.

SUGEN ABEN PARK The Sugen Aben Park is available for special occasions, in the

past it has been used for spectacular opening ceremonies for

various international events such as Pacific Forums, APEC,

Bank of South Pacific, Lukim PNG, weddings, sporting events,

Christmas Festivals, special dinners including traditional mu-

mu’s and is used for cultural festivals which are staged for pas-

sengers off visiting cruise ships.

The park is fully gated, landscaped with a lagoon, sandy beach

which is the base for the Resort’s kayaks, sailing boats and

other small dive boats. It also has a slipway capable of slip-

ping the Resort’s dive boats.

Access is from the Marina or from the Resort’s grounds. An-

other access is from the NDA Dive shop.

There is a large haus win which houses a cocktail bar, and

counters which are used to serve buffet meals.

Madang Resort has two marquees, the larger 30mx8m and a

smaller one measuring 6m x 8m. Tables and chairs are availa-

ble for hire.

It is an ideal venue for traditional “sing sings” and dancing as

well a open air concerts.

JANEK ABEN

Located in the foyer, adjacent to the Sana Convention Centre.

It is fully air conditioned, overlooking the gardens and the land-

scaped pool. It is ideal for coffee breaks, buffet meals and can

accommodate 100 seated guests.

The Janek Aben has a full kitchen that is capable of catering for

up to 400 guests. Toilets are available in the foyer, along with a

Gift Shop, Cinema Bar, Business Centre and has Wi-Fi connec-

tivity.

NICKOLAY MIKLOUHO-MACLAY ROOM

The Nicholay Miklouho-Maclay Room was

named after th famous Russian Explorer

who was the first European to settle at

Gorendu Village on the Raicoast, (Raikos)

which is named after him. It was appro-

priate to name a meeting room of the Resort in memory of his

outstanding understanding of the people who in recent years

have been supported by the Melanesian & Maclay Foundation.

The room contains paintings of Maclau & the MV Vitiaz in Sep

1871 when Maclay arrived at Gorendu.

The room is located in the Raffles Wing, it has a capacity for up

to 30 and equipped with overhead projector, air conditioning,

kitchen and public toilets with a balcony overlooking the fresh

water pool.

KALIBOBO SPIRIT

The Kalibobo Spirit is a 30m luxury motoryacht

owned by MTS, based at the Marina at Madang

Resort. Apart from operating scheduled cruises

to the Sepik River and Islands of PNG, it is an also

venue for Board Meetings, accommodating 12

persons in air conditioned comfort with video

projector, screen and flat screen television.

The Kalibobo Spirit is also available for cruises of

the Madang Harbour which can cater for up to 80

day guests with full catering and bar service avail-

able. Overnight accommodation for 12, plus a

crew of 8.

This is an ideal for break out session providing

delegates a chance to see the beautiful Madang

Harbour and enjoy a swim on an uninhabited

island with sandy beach and excellent snorkel-

ling., ideal for a Beach BBQ.

HAUS KIBUNG FUNCTION ROOM

THE HAUS KIBUNG (Meeting Haus)

Located above the Haus Win, overlooking the 36m

saltwater pool and Dallman Passage, the entrance of

the beautiful Madang Harbour.

The room is used largely for special functions, wed-

dings, special dinners and events. It is fully air condi-

tioned with a capacity to cater for 100, plus an addi-

tional 50 on the balcony. It is quipped with PA sys-

tem, video projector, flat screen TV’s and furnished

with attractive coconut chairs and tables. A “dumb

waiter” enables food to be delivered from the Haus

Win kitchen below for fixed menu or buffet style

meals. A cocktail bar and reception area are availa-

ble along with toilets.

and international events….

HAUS WIN RESTAURANT & FUNCTION ROOM

HAUS WIN

The Haus Win was the original site of the Hotel Madang Haus Win Restaurant, refuted to be the oldest restaurant in Papua

New Guinea. It has since been rebuilt and provides seating for up to 250 with additional seating along the waterfront over-

looking Dallman Passage and Krangket (Craged) Island.

Constant canoes, coastal vessels including cargo and mega cruise ships pass within meters of the Resort in the deep water

passage into the Madang Harbour. A feature of the Restaurant is the 4 large aquariums which accommodate various colour-

ful pelagic fish and sea creatures. Along side the restaurant is a lagoon stocked with Barramundi and Pacu Fish.

The Haus Win is open to the cool sea breeze, it has a centre stage, cocktail bar and toilets with an adjoining kitchen which can

cater for up to 400 persons. Live music is played regularly by our resident musician and the restaurant boasts a stage and

grand piano. Local Bamboo Bands are available to provide traditional island music upon request.

The restaurant is open for buffet breakfasts, lunch and a-la-carte dinner daily featuring seafood and local pork, beef and

fresh vegetables from the Highlands. Pizza are also available.
