Local food manufacturers have been faced with new rules that will affect their local businesses. Aerobic Enterprises will have benefits and some effects from the new recall. As much as we harp on food safety, these recalls still happen. According to the new rules, they will now have to become GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) compliant. Good manufacturing practices (GMP) are the practices required in order to conform to the guidelines recommended by agen- cies that control authorization and licensing for manufacture and sale of food, drug products, and active pharmaceutical products. Aerobic Enterprises must have a Preventive Controls Quali- fied Individual. Chuck Barron, the General manger, is do- ing everything he needs to do to keep the company in good shape, and has also completed the FSPCA Preventive Con- trols for Human Food course. Aerobic Enterprises receives under one million dollars of revenue a year. The organization has until September 1st of 2018 to become compliant. Larger companies are required to be in compliance by September of this year. If the right steps are not done, companies could be fined and also shut down. Aerobic is expecting around a $100,000 to make all of the mandatory changes. This will cause an initial hardship, but if the right steps are taken, the company has the ability to in- crease their product lines such as vitamin and flavored water or juices. They will also be able to contract with third party companies to provide specialized and private label products. “Even though it is a lot, I am excited and grateful for the knowledge that I previously had to get us going in the right direction” said Chuck Baron. Aerobic Enterprises will still be the wonderful water com- pany they have always been and appreciates your business while continuing to serve the area. Aerobics Enterprises is a great supporter of our community and would like for ev- eryone to continue to give them the support they need while they comply with the new standards.

New Food Manufacturing Regulations to Affect Local Businesses

by Zene Amaning

Aerobic Enterprises was founded in the mid-1980s by a cre-ative entrepreneur from Greenville, Texas, who designed a unique water purification process. Aerobics Enterprises is a local bottled water purifying manufacturer that provides submicron filtration, activated carbon filtration, ozonation, ultraviolet light, energy enhancement, and reverse osmosis to produce the light, fresh, pure water you want to drink.

Good manufacturing practices (GMP) are the practices required in order to conform to the guidelines recommended by agen-cies that control authorization and licensing for manufacture and sale of food, drug products, and active pharmaceutical products.

Aerobic Enterprises must have a Preventive Controls Quali-fied Individual. Chuck Barron, the General manger, is do-ing everything he needs to do to keep the company in good shape, and has also completed the FSPCA Preventive Con-trols for Human Food course.

This will cause an initial hardship, but if the right steps are taken, the company has the ability to in-crease their product lines such as vitamin and flavored water or juices. They will also be able to contract with third party companies to provide specialized and private label products. “Even though it is a lot, I am excited and grateful for the knowledge that I previously had to get us going in the right direction” said Chuck Baron.

Aerobic Enterprises will still be the wonderful water com-pany they have always been and appreciates your business while continuing to serve the area. Aerobics Enterprises is a great supporter of our community and would like for ev-eryone to continue to give them the support they need while they comply with the new standards.
