The ChuteMaster Fiberglass Spiral Chute from Portec Flomaster provides a safe, secure means of lowering your products. Specially designed fiber-glass module profiles help control the descending speed of your products. In high humidity situations, the self start-ing characteristics of the gel-coated fiberglass assists products to flow freely, gently and safely.

MOLDED FIBERGLASS SPIRAL CHUTE

Efficient and Effective Design: A ChuteMaster spiral chute is composed of standardized fiberglass 90° modules with an exit scoop. Additionally, a custom entry slide, a custom exit slide, and/or a sort table can be pro-vided. These components are made of durable hand-laid fiberglass and have a special gel-coating to provide long wearing low-friction service. The spiral chute provides at least three times the floor space savings over conventional decline conveyors. Greater space savings can be realized by multi-floor applications. The size of the chute allows it to be used in tight situations, such as elevator shafts and other small spaces.

1. Floor supports for entry and exit slides are not provided by Portec.2. Horizontal bracing may be required for tall spiral chutes and is not provided by Portec.3. All spiral chutes will be shipped fully assembled unless specifically requested at the time of the order.4. Straight slides are limited to 3048 mm (1829 mm for CM-18) length for each piece. Longer slides will require more than one piece.5. Straight slides are available for angles of decline from 22-35 degrees. 27 degrees is the preferred angle.6. The straight entry slide on the CM-51 Multi-Entry is 1086 mm wide and made of galvanized steel.7. Conveyor Belt: 2-ply Black Urethane with very low friction bot-tom fabric bottom and vulcanized endless seam. Fire retardentBelt Drive System: The conveyor belt is driven by its bottom side contacting a heavy duty lagged drive roll. Contamination of the belt surface does not effect the conveyor operation. A spring-loaded take-up maintains even belt tension even with changes in loading and temperature.Angle Bar: The Angle-Flo uses a polished steel bar on the angle end of the conveyor. The fixed angle bar ensures even belt tracking and may be positioned as close as 4 mm from the adjoining con-veyor. The Angle-Flo is available with angles of 30 and 45 degrees. End, Take-up and Snub Rolls: The all-steel rolls are fabri-cated from 51 mm (low frame), 63.5 mm (mid-frame) and 88.9 mm (high frame) diameter tubing. The end and take-up rolls have center crowns. The end roll is normally positioned so the front face of the roller is 6.4 mm past the end of the conveyor frame. It may be adjusted so the roller is 12 mm from the end of the frame to as much as 38 mm (high frame) extended past the end of the frame. If the end roll position is adjusted, it is necessary to readjust the belt tension by repositioning the take-up roll.Drive Roll: The drive roll is fabricated from 101 mm (low frame), 152 mm (mid-frame) or 203 mm (high frame) diameter steel tubing. The drive lagging is molded onto the steel rolls and machined to provided a friction surface.Roll Shafts: Turned, ground and polished 1045 steel.Bearings: The drive roll bearings are precision, sealed-for-life, and fitted in a externally mounted, cast iron flange bearing. Optional Angle Air Bar System:The optional Angle Air Bar system from Portec is designed for heavy duty applications and sustained high speed operation up to 4 m/sec. Compressed air is released through a series of holes along the face of the angle bars to both cool the bars and create an air cushion for the belt. Angle-Flos with the Angle Air Bar will use “AF” in the model desig-nation instead of “AX”.Merge/Diverge: Angle-Flo con-veyors are specifically designed for either merge or diverge operation. The number of rollers and their loca-tions are different. They can not be converted from one to another. The diverge model generally has a lon-ger minimum length than the merge model.
