Speciality insulation systems for the cement industry Speciality insulation systems: Cyclones

The tendencies in the cement industry are moving towards an increasing use of alternative fuels, which poses some serious risks in cyclones. At the same time, focus remains on reducing energy consumption and protecting the lining as well as the steel shell. Skamol has developed a technical insulation system, SkamoCement, specifi cally for cyclones:

Multiple fuel typesEnables the use of both conventional and

alternative fuels

Fast and simple mountingIs quick and easy to install

Reduce energy costsProvides a signifi cant reduction in

energy consumption

Speciality insulation systems: Rotary kilns

With the increasing demands set for energy consumption and CO2 emissions from cement plants, and the potential of signifi cantly lowered maintenance costs, Skamol has developed the SkamoCement M-Extra insulating brick. It has proven very effi cient as back up insulation in dual-lining solutions in rotary kilns:

Extend lifetime of your production equipmentIncreases refractory life-span, minimising costly

relining procedures

Reduce energy costsReduces heat loss and

energy consumption

High qualityLowers risk of shell

deformation

Speciality insulation systems:Clinker coolers & kiln hoods

In cement clinker coolers and kiln hoods, dense refractory linings backed by insulation materials often result in an unnecessarily heavy construction. Also, the lining is often at risk of serious alkali attacks. Benefi t from our technical insulation system, SkamoCement:

Reduce energy costsEnsures higher air-temperature from cooler to tertiary air duct, preserving energy and

reducing production costs

Low weightReduces the overall weight of the lining, compared to

regular lining solutions

Improve operationReduces steel shell temperature, and protects against thermal load

Relevant products▪ SkamoCement Hipor 450 (diatomite)▪ SkamoCement Poros (moler)▪ SkamoCement S-1100E (calcium silicate)▪ SkamoCement S-Isol (calcium silicate)

Page 6: Speciality insulation system for cement In cement clinker coolers and kiln hoods, dense refractory linings backed by insulation materials often result in an unnecessarily heavy construction

Speciality insulation systems: Tertiary air ducts

The air ducts are under constant stress from abrasive particles, and the hot face lining risks degradation over time. This can lead to increased service temperatures and construction failure. Skamol has developed the technical insulation system, SkamoCement, to prolong the life span of tertiary air ducts:

Extend lifetime of your production equipmentBolsters the air ducts from the high-density

abrasive content of the pipes

Improve operationImproves energy distribution

Reduce energy costsReduces shell temperature
