Specialist Diploma in Wireless Technology • EGSP07

In this course, you will learn to design and develop wireless products and systems. You will also gain knowledge and skills in high performance wireless test equipment and facilities, as well as development tools and simulation platforms through practicals and project work.

Course Objectives

Course Structure

Graduates with a degree or polytechnic diploma in relevant areas, with preference given to those who have at least one year of relevant working experience. Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on:(i) Evidence of at least three years of relevant working experience; OR(ii) Supporting evidence of competency readinessShortlisted applicants will be interviewed and/or take an entrance test. The polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.

Entry Requirements

You will be awarded the Specialist Diploma in Wireless Technology upon successful completion of two Post-Diploma Certificates (PDCs):

• PDC in Wireless System Design (150 hours) This PDC consists of three modules where you’ll learn how to:• Evaluate the design, trade-offs and performance of different wireless communication system architectures based on specified system requirements• Integrate, test and characterise digital wireless transceivers according to industry standards• Design and implement baseband sub-systems for digital transceivers based on specified functional requirements with the aid of CAE tools and RF test and measurement equipment

• PDC in RF Design (150 hours) This PDC consists of four modules where you’ll learn how to:• Evaluate, design, test and characterise RF System-on-Chip, RF circuits and sub-systems based on specified design requirements• Evaluate, design, test and characterise different types of antennas based on specified design requirements• Conduct EMC compliance tests and apply EMI mitigation techniques according to industry standards
