2O17 TRONSymposium

Special Sponsor andExhibitor InformationTRON Symposium Steering Committee

TRON Project started in 1984. It has made available, according to the philosophy of “Open Architecture,” the specifications of real-time OS family for embedded systems to anyone across the world.” The philosophy of “Openness” has been a backbone for promoting TRON Project. Lately, the project has expanded the application of “Open” concept to various fields such as “Open data” which makes available and utilizes the data owned by the national government, local governments, public transportation operators, etc. and “Open API” to realize “Open IoT” which creates convenient services across the boundaries of device manufacturers and service providers.

To promote the project and let people become familiar with what we do, we have held the annual TRON Project symposium for many years. During “2016 TRON Symposium (TRONSHOW)” held at the end of 2016, hardware boards that implement “IoT-Engine,” a standard development environment to develop the edge nodes of the IoT, were showcased with the cooperation of the project partner companies. Some of them have already been released in the market. Currently, we have been building “IoT-Aggregator” which realizes the service coordination in the open IoT environment and advanced access control, and intend to use it for EU-Japan collaborative research project which started last year. As an ICT approach for “Omotenashi” (hospitality) which supports foreign tourists and domestic travelers in Japan anticipating 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, we will establish and develop OPaaS.io that uses uID architecture. IEEE Consumer Electronics Society in USA and TRON Forum have been promoting the standardization of future IoT together since the conclusion of sister society agreement during 2016 TRON Symposium.

This year, we are going to hold TRON Project symposium, “2017 TRON Symposium (TRONSHOW),” from December 13th to 15th. It will be held with the technical co-sponsorship of IEEE Consumer Electronics Society. The venue is Tokyo Midtown, Roppongi, Tokyo.

This year's symposium will feature many results of TRON Project including various proposals for building “Open IoT.”We will also hold the regular TRON Enableware Symposium, “TEPS 30th” on December 16 to discuss the support of challenged people

by means of ICT.We appreciate your contribution and exhibition on the floor by agreeing with the main purpose of the symposium. Thank you in advance

for your kind considerations.Ken Sakamura

Greetings

■ OPEN IoT SystemEmbedded systems and cloud systems to realize the IoT are exhibited.RTOS (ITRON specification OS, T-Kernel), middleware and development environment required for embedded systems, application examples, etc. are shown.Sensor nodes and network control systems, big data analysis support tools, open data support tools, terminals, solutions to realize OPEN IoT, their usage examples including business applications, etc. are introduced.

■ Open Data for Public Transportation PavilionPublic transportation operators and ICT operators together have been building leading-edge next generation public transportation information services, conducting research and development of standard platforms, and proposing ideas to policy making of public transportation to promote open data for public transportation information. This pavilion exhibits the above activities and how the future public transportation information services that make the best use of open data for public transportation should be in and after 2020.

■ Pavilion of Promotion of Introduction of ICT in the Entire Society Toward 2020

“Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games” to be held in 2020 will be a great opportunity to enhance the services and infrastructure for ICT in Japan and to publicize their advanced status to the world. This pavilion exhibits the services and advancement of functions in cities that have been developed in the Introduction of ICT in the Entire Society Toward 2020.

■ IoT-Aggregator × IoT-Engine PavilionIoT-Aggregator is the platform which performs service discovery and access control for service coordination in the Open IoT environment to realize “Aggregate Computing.” IoT-Engine is a standard development platform for IoT devices and has been developed in cooperation with several semiconductor manufacturers in the world. This pavilion introduces the latest IoT-Aggregator environment and the IoT-Engines from the manufacturers.

Basic Concepts & Exhibits

All the achievements of TRON towards the realization of Ubiquitous Computing environments will gather at the TRONSHOW.
