Thankfully, the long Winter is behind us and it’s finally time for all of us to enjoy some early Spring weather.

The days are longer and so much warmer. Time to get outside and take advantage of everything that Mooredale has to offer. May would not be May without Mayfair, and we all look forward to the continuation of this great again this

year. The Mayfair Committee has been very hard at work, and made a number of changes for 2019, all with the purpose of preserving the safety, security and success of this unique two-day community event. This month also marks the start of many outdoor sports and recreational programs, with soccer, softball, lacrosse and, of course, our great Pool Club. Mooredale’s success is grounded in the efforts and enthusiasm of so many dedicated volunteers. While there are a lot of fun teams at Rosedale Park, I think you’ll soon discover that nothing beats being on the Volunteer Team.

March in the parade, participate in the track and field events, ride the rides, play bingo, BBQ and Beer Garden, midway games and prizes, and a kid’s zone with even more bouncy inflatables than last year! All of these fun events await you on Friday May 10, from 4:00-10:00 pm and Saturday May 11 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Buy your ride vouchers to go on the World’s Finest Shows rides for just $40. Mooredale Preschool/Summer Fun is licensed by the Ministry of Education under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014

Limited Space Still Available

We invite all Preschoolers, 2.6 to 3.11 years as of July 1, 2019, to come splash, swim, glue, ride, dig, sing, and dance and most importantly, have fun with us! Whether beneath the warmth of the sun, the shade of our canopies and trees or in the cool comfort of our Coach House building, it won’t be long before Mooredale Preschool is transformed into a summer hive of activity. And busy days will generate big appetites, deliciously satisfied by Real Food for Real Kids who will provide healthy snacks… and lunch, for those who choose the full day or morning with lunch options. Full day children are offered afternoon naptime, rest time and books, or, for those whose naps are but a thing of the past, we offer quiet games and activities, all in the cool comfort of the Coach House. When our summer fun campers are once again awake, rested and ready to go, a whole new range of activities and games await.

This may also be the first time for your child to be in a program on their own, so how about registering a friend as well? We would be sure to place them together in the same small group.

Register online www.mooredale.com or by fax, mail or in person

Mayfair 2019 means it is almost pool season! The official start of the 2019 pool season is Saturday, May 18. We are continuing our upgrades to the pool and pool

area-listening to (and acting upon), our member’s suggestions. Specifically, this spring we have invested heavily in the women’s changing room. Come see our new beautiful, clean and non-slip tile throughout! Don’t worry, gentlemen, we have you covered next year (Spring 2020), mirroring the same upgrades in the men’s changing room as well. We are putting the final touches on our programs for the upcoming season. Mooredale continues to offer a variety of programming to suit our members. If you enjoy exercising in the water with an instructor to lead, please note that Aquafit is returning and FlexPasses are available for the season. Additionally, we are introducing the FlexPass system for our evening courses (i.e. diving, stroke correction, water polo etc.) this season. Members can buy a package of classes and drop into whichever one interests them, or simply works best with their schedule. We are hoping this provides needed flexibility so members can participate even if our two-week sessions don’t coordinate with their other summer plans. You decide! Did you know we also offer Bronze Star, Medallion and Bronze Cross courses too? Mooredale offers wonderful swim lessons to all ages. Pool members also have priority for group lessons until May 16, 2019. Starting May 17, group lesson registrations are accepted on a first come-first served basis and are available to all current Mooredale members. Mooredale also offers private and semi-private lessons for all ages. As always if you have any comments or suggestions regarding our programs or how we run the pool, please contact the Pool Manager Ellen Harper, ([email protected]). Also, if you can’t wait to say hello to the lifeguards and pool management team, they will be at Mayfair looking after our first aid needs. Drop by the first aid tent and say hi to the new and familiar faces. See you in the pool. Join us now at Mooredale Pool – our own little oasis in the city! Contact info changed? Please let us know! If your contact info or address has changed, contact Catherine right away and we will make sure you receive your renewal package. (cloeffler @mooredale.on.ca or 416-922-3714 ext. 102).
