Special Issue of Psycho-Oncology on Cancer Genetic Testing and Psychosocial Research Original articles and brief reports are encouraged which focus on the psychological and social impact of cancer genetic testing and on emotional outcomes related to management of hereditary cancer risk. Papers focused on psychological and ethical concerns of individuals with inherited susceptibility to breast/ ovarian, colorectal, and other cancer syndromes are welcome. Reports of research on interpersonal and familial ramifications of identification of carriers of deleterious cancer-predisposing mutations, family communication, and clinical or educational interventions for at-risk individuals are also invited. We are seeking an international representation of work in this field. Papers which offer a discussion of the impact of culture on the uptake of genetic testing or related topics and those which highlight professional genetics education programs will be welcome. Careful critical reviews of research in this field since its inception a decade ago may be submitted. Manuscripts should follow the usual instructions for electronic submission of papers to Psycho-Oncology. Authors should indicate that they wish the manuscript to be reviewed for inclusion in the special issue. The co-editors of this issue would be happy to review plans for papers in advance of their receipt. All papers will be peer reviewed.
