John Abernathy is an Assistant Professor and received his Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Alabama. His research examines corporate governance, audit committees, boards of directors, and financial reporting quality. His teaching interest is financial accounting.

Bradley Blaylock is an Assistant Professor and received his Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Washington. His research focuses primarily on the financial reporting of corporate taxes and the capital market implications of the tax information in companies’ financial reports. He has published his work in The Accounting Review and has been cited in the Wall Street Journal.

Bradley Lawson is an Assistant Professor and received his Ph.D. in Accounting from Texas A&M University. Using archival data, his research investigates corporate governance-related topics, with an emphasis on the effectiveness and pricing of the monitoring function provided by external auditors and the influence of individuals’ behavior on the audit engagement and corporate policies and decisions.

Paula Sanders is an Assistant Professor and received her Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her dissertation examined how accountability interacts with managers’ situational preferences to influence memory accuracy and confidence. Her research interests include experimental examination of judgments and decisions in financial accounting and auditing.

Alyssa Vowell is the M.S. Coordinator and Clinical Assistant Professor. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration with a Spanish minor and Master of Business Administration with an Accounting Emphasis from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She has over eight years experience in public accounting, primarily in tax, and almost three years with Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s income tax department.

Karen Maguire is an Assistant Professor and received her Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder where she completed her dissertation research in Energy Economics. Her primary research and teaching focus is on analyzing energy markets, specifically examining how markets and government policies affect renewable energy development.

Brandon Mueller is an Assistant Professor and received his Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management from Indiana University, where he developed and focused his primary research efforts on exploring opportunity recognition processes, entrepreneurial learning, and the development of entrepreneurial expertise.

Rubin Pillay is the Daniel White Jordan Clinical Professor and Director of the Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship Academy. He has extensive international teaching and consulting experience and has been published widely in the field of strategic health leadership. His current interests are in Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship with a particular focus on the health sector.

Craig Watters is the Thoma Family Distinguished Clinical Professor in Entrepreneurship and received his Ph.D. from the University of Syracuse. He has worked with faculty across an array of disciplines on curriculum development and outreach programs related to creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. His dissertation examined the impact of infrastructure on economic development in rural areas.

Alex Boquist is an Assistant Professor and received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.His research focuses on how stock returns are impacted by idiosyncratic volatility, liquidity and short sales.

Tom Johansen is a Clinical Associate Professor of Finance and received his Ph.D. in Finance from Oklahoma State University. Previously, Johansen was Professor of Finance and the Financial Planning Program Director at Fort Hays State University. He has considerable teaching experience in all areas of finance as well as curriculum and program development. His consulting and research interests have focused on valuation, economic impact, and value investing strategies.

Yuzhao Zhang is an Assistant Professor and received his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of California, Los Angeles. His research focuses on asset pricing, financial derivatives, and informed trading.

Ted Matherly is an Assistant Professor and received his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland. His academic research focuses on consumer identity signaling and social influence processes, examining how individuals evaluate signaling behavior through brands and how these evaluations impact their own decisions. His work has been presented at the ACR and SCP conferences. His teaching interests include marketing research and consumer behavior.

Aaron Hill is an Assistant Professor who is returning to Oklahoma State, where he received his Ph.D. He received his undergraduate and MBA degrees at Gonzaga University, and was a small business owner before pursuing his doctorate. Hill’s research examines executives, corporate governance, and strategic human resource issues and has recently appeared in Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Small Business Management, and Strategic Organization.

Alexis Smith is an Assistant Professor and received her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior at the A. B. Freeman School of Business of Tulane University and her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rice University. Her focal area of research involves status and power in organizations. She has published research in the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Journal of Applied Social Psychology, and the European Journal of Work & Organizational Psychology.

Cynthia Wang is an Assistant Professor and received her doctoral and master’s degrees in Management and Organizations from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and her bachelor’s in Social Psychology from Yale University. She has published research in Organization Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Psychological Science. Her main areas of research include social diversity and ethical decision-making.

Jim Burkman is a Clinical Assistant Professor and received his Ph.D. in Management Information Science from Indiana University with a focus in Organizational Behavior. His research interests include user acceptance, trustworthiness, data visualization and information assurance. Areas of technical expertise include relational database design and information security training.

Jason Nichols is an Assistant Professor and received his Ph.D. in Information Systems from Arizona State University. His research interests include decision support for process design, software development, and complex adaptive systems.

Richard Gajan is the Carl Thoma Distinguished Clinical Professor in Entrepreneurship. From 2006–2011, Richard served as a Venture Advisor for I2E, Inc., an Oklahoma non-profit organization that assists high potential technology companies. Richard works with students and student teams across campus on their startup ventures. Richard has an MBA from the University of Michigan, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University.
