Day 01/Sep 12 MANILA/LISBON

Day 02/Sep 13 LISBON, Portugal

Arrive in Lisbon, capital of Portugal. Lisbon is a city of pastel colors

and cobblestone streets, of vistas and monuments. After immigration

customs formalities, drive to the city for a Eucharistic Celebration at St.

Anthony’s Church. Remember St. Anthony, one of the few doctors of

the church, was born here Overnight in Lisbon. (D)

Day 03/Sep 14 LISBON/SANTAREM/FATIMA

Visit the Jeronimos Monastery and the Belem Tower (exterior) both

good examples of the 16th

century Manueline style, and finally the

Monument to the Discoveries. Depart to Santarem, one of the oldest

cities in the world. Walk through its narrow streets to the Church of St.

Stephen, containing the oldest recorded Eucharistic miracle. Continue to

Fatima or nearby place for accommodation. (BD)

Day 04/Sep 15 FATIMA

Today is the 100th anniversary of the Fatima apparitions. Jubilee routes

has four stations with respective prayers. Centennial Portico (Prayer of

the Apostolic Creed), Chapel of the Apparitions (Prayer of the

Rosary), Tombs of the Little Shepherds (Prayer of the Rosary) and

Chapel of the Most Holy Sacrament (Prayer for Peace). Visit the

humble homes of the visionaries and realize their humble living then.

Drive to COIMBRA, city that houses the oldest university of Portugal.

Walk through the streets of Coimbra, until the Convent of the

Carmelites, where has lived and died Sister Lucia, one of the little

shepherds of Fatima. Another night in Fatima. (BD)

Day 05/Sep 16 FATIMA/SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

Head towards Santiago de Compostela, the world’s third traditional

pilgrimage center and “Cultural Capital of Europe”. During medieval

times, thousands of pilgrims from all over Europe trekked on foot to this

center of miracles. There’s a distinct mystic ambiance around you’ll

evidently feel. A most impressive Cathedral stands over where the

tomb of the Apostle St. James was discovered. Since the discovery of

his tomb, numerous petitions have been favorably reported here.

Day 06/Sep 17

SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA/BRAGA/PORTO

Leave for Braga, one of the most beautiful cities in Portugal, with a

number of impressive baroque monuments, including one of the

country’s best known sights, the Bom Jesus Sanctuary. After

sightseeing you may have some time to visit Braga Cathedral. Continue

to Porto for the night. (BD)

Day 07/Sep 18 PORTO/SEVILLE

After breakfast, drive to Spain and arrive in Seville, capital of Andalucia

and most Spanish of the charming cities in Spain. (BD)

Day 08/Sep 19 SEVILLE

Sightseeing of this fourth biggest city of Spain. Visit the massive 15th

century Cathedral, burial place of Christopher Columbus, which is

enriched with the spoils of the New World. Nearby is the imposing

Giralda Tower. See the Alcazar, a masterpiece of Moorish architecture

and the Sta. Cruz Quarter of houses attractive with flower-decked

balconies.

You may visit the gold gilded altars of the Church of Our Lady of

Macarena made famous as it is there where bullfighters pray prior to a

bullfight. Another night here. (BD)

Day 09/Sep 20 SEVILLE/CORDOBA/GRANADA

Drive through the olive and orange groves of the rolling Andalusian hills

as you travel from the foot of the Sierra Nevada to the fertile valley of

the River Guadalquiver. A fascinating sightseeing of Cordoba, seat of

three civilizations: Muslim, Christian and Jewish. Drive past the

Alcazar, the Roman bridge, and the medieval Old Jewish Quarter.

Finally, tour the magnificent 8th century Mosque of the Caliphs

(Mesquita), famous for its 850 pillars of porphyry, marble, and jasper.

Continue to Granada for the night. (BD)

Day 10/Sep 21 GRANADA/TORREMOLINOS

Visit the Alhambra, one of the most remarkable fortresses ever built.

It’s the gem of Moorish architecture! The mighty yet graceful citadel

was planned by the 13th century Moorish ruler Al Ahamar. A fantasy of

“lace in stone” surrounded by arabesque gardens and fountains, it

affords superb views of the Old Quarter and Sacramonte, a mountain

occupied by gypsy cave dwellers. Also see the magnificent water

gardens of the Generalife, the royal summer residence. Indeed it’s

worth recognition as a World Heritage Site. Spend the night in

Torremolinos along Costa del Sol, the Spanish Riviera. (BD)

Day11/Sep 22

TORREMOLINOS/ALGECIRAS/TANGIER/FEZ

Depart for Algeciras and board a ferry for the trip across the Straits of

Europe. Ready cameras as vistas of the Rock of Gibraltar are

spectacular. Arrive in Tangier, jumping off point for the Moorish

conquest of Spain and the legendary medieval traveller, Ibn Batuta.

Drive along the highway to Fez, Morocco’s cultural capital. Spend the

night here. (BD)

Day 12/Sep 23 FEZ/MARRAKECH

Snap pictures of the magnificent entrance to the Royal Palace. Drive

through the Mellah, the old Jewish Quarter. Travel on to the beautifully

ornate Bab Bou Jeloud, the traditional entrance to old Fez. Visit the

labyrinthine Fes-El-Bali, Morocco’s largest medina; follow your local

guide to exquisite Medersa Bou Inania; admire Nejjarine Square and

its fountain, the Karaouiyme Mosque and University, Africa’s oldest and

the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss.

Continue to the red colored imperial city of Marrakech, situated in an

oasis with more than a half million palm trees and surrounded by deep

walls. Spend two nights here. (BD)

Day 13/Sep 24 MARRAKECH

Sightseeing includes views of the Menara Park with its manmade lake

and quaint pavilion; Bahia Palace, with the elaborately decorated 16th

century Saadian tombs. Catch up on your postcards or bargain hunts in

the souk, the most picturesque open market in the world with its jugglers

and snake charmers. Visit Djemaa El-Fana, the palpitating town center

dominated by the 222-foot-high Koutoubia Minaret. Unforgettable!

Day 14/Sep 25 MARRAKECH/RABAT

Leave for Rabat, once a lair of the corsairs and now the country’s

cosmopolitan capital. View the massive medieval battlements, the Royal

Palace and residence, Mohammed V Mausoleum and Hassan Tower.

You will be reminded of the time when Morocco was the Roman

province of Mauretania as you visit the fine Roman relics of Chellah.

Day 15/Sep 26 RABAT/CASABLANCA

Drive to Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital. Casablanca is

Morocco’s modern seaport with a strong French accent, recalling scenes

from the classic film of the same name, starring Humprey Bogart and

Ingrid Bergman. Drive along the United Nations Square, the Arab

League Park, Anfa’s residential quarters and the Royal Palace. Visit the

Old Medina. View the imposing Hassan II Mosque, built on a

breathtaking setting on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Spend the night
