During his tenure, He had striven to transform the airport in one of the busiest regional hubs in Romania. Currently, the airport is the second biggest in the country, serving almost 3 million passengers. David graduated in 1991 from the Faculty for Aircraft Engineering, Polytechnic University of Bucharest. David Ciceo, Managing Director, Cluj International Airport Mr Maju Cherian is currently representing Bahrain Airport Company and leads the ORAT Project in the ongoing Airport Modernization Programme- a major airport project worth $1.1 billion for the construc- tion of a brand new terminal in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He is responsible for establishing, managing and overseeing delivery of all activities during Project execution of Operational Readiness and Airport Transition for this Programme (AMP) with Scoping, designing and resource planning for the startup phase leading to a collaborative airport operation beyond ORAT with a mindset in airport efficiency and operating sustainability. Being in the aviation industry for the last 20 years, Mr Maju started his aviation career as an Air Traffic Controller serving Bangalore’s busy and complex commercial & military airspace. Post the privatiza- tion of Indian airports, in 2007 he moved to Greenfield airport project- Bangalore International airport to lead part of the ORAT implementation for airside workflows. Post the airport opening in 2008, he moved to Airport Operations and was tasked as an Airside Operations Manager to play a pivoted role in streamlining airside operations in the new airport. Mr Maju subsequently moved in the role of Air- port Steering Manager– ACDM to manage the airport resource optimization and efficiency to lead the Airport Punctuality Monitoring program, using his expertise in startups, he lead the startup program for Air Asia India to commence operations from Bangalore. He continued to played active role in ORAT execution for Bangalore’s airport enhancement project in 2012 including Commercial project startup too. Maju Cherian, Manager – Operational Readiness and Airport Transition Lead, Bahrain Airport Company Utpal Baruah, Head-Operations at GMR Aviation Academy, Hyderabad carries a wide experience of 23 years with diversified fields of aviation management. He joined in Airports Authority of India as Aero- nautical Communication Service Engineer in November 1993. During the first 8 years of his profession- al career, he was associated with Operations & Management of NAVAIDS and Communication Servic- es and then switched over to Goa International Airport in February, 2001 as Terminal Manager where he continued until he joined in GMR Group in January, 2008 at Delhi International Airport Limited. Utpal was closely associated with ORAT of Terminal 3 at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. As ORAT Training Manager, Utpal imparted training to several thousand employees of IGI Air- port through different phases of training schedule. His learning during this period paid him back enormously when he led the planning team during the transition of Operations at Cebu International Airport, Philippines in November, 2014. Hans Petter Stensjøen is the current Head of Department Terminal Processes at Avinor, Oslo Airport. Prior to this role, he was Project Manager ORAT involved in the extension of Oslo Airport, T2 project since 2014 to 2017 and Head of Coordination unit construction/operation T2 project from 2009 to 2017.

Highly experienced in Airport Management, Hans had held several key positions since 1995. He is an esteemed graduate Engineer of Automation from Oslo Engineer School in 1986.

Based in Dubai, Richard is Arup’s ORAT Lead in the Middle East. He has spent almost five years working with Dubai Airports though its major expansion journey which has boosted the airport’s capacity from 22 million passengers in 2008 to 90 million today.

Richard led the successful the launch of Al Maktoum International Airport in 2013 and most recently he led the ORAT Programme for the opening of Concourse D at Dubai International in 2016. Richard is also currently overseeing the ORAT programmes for two major expansion projects at Dubai Airports.

Richard is originally from Sydney, Australia and has over 15 years consulting experience. He joined Arup in 2012 and managed operational readiness projects in Australia in both rail (Sydney Trains) and aviation (Perth Airport).

Pradeep Sangal has a vast and rich experience of over 27 years in Project management of diverse and large Infrastructure Development Projects like Airports, Bridges, Tunnels, Earthen Embankments, track laying for Railway Projects, Hydro Power plants, Cross country pipelines and Water treatment plants with renowned Public and MNC companies.

Currently Pradeep is working as A.V.P. Projects at Bangalore International Airport. In his current role, he is responsible for change management, contracts management, stakeholder’s management and defining project management processes. Prior to Bangalore Airport, he played key role in successful execution of all the phases of ORAT program for Mumbai international Airport. He also developed and managed processes for testing & Commissioning, readiness checks and handing over of all the systems and facilities for operations. Pradeep has also contributed several articles and papers on project management and shares his thoughts on project management and project Risk Management at various forums.

SPEAKERS PROFILEOver the past 34 years Mr Gurmukh Singh Bwa has been associated with the Government Working in general and Civil Aviation Industry in particular. He has attained experience in the areas of Project Management particularly the Airport Projects which involves ORAT for overall delivery of the Projects. In his official capacity as Staff Officer to Chairman he had been involved in overseeing the projects from Conception, Development and Execution Process till Inauguration (Operationalisation) in re-spect of 35 Non-Metro Airport, 23 other airport development projects and two Mega Projects i.e. as Chennai and Kolkta Airports were also executed during his stint with Airports Authority of India. He was also witness to the first and unique handing over of the two Metro Airports (Delhi and Mumbai Airports) to the Private Operators under the PPP.

Mr Bawa, an Economist by profession; Post Graduation in Economics, has specialization qualifications in Airport Economics, Forecasting, Commercialization ec from ACI, ICAo, IAMTI etc. He has setup a full-fledged Administration Department in Airpot Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) which is a regulatory Organization under the Central Government. Mr Bawa, as Officer of Special Duty (OSD) had been reporting directly to the Chairman in Airports Authority of India and Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India, since 1991; say about 24 years. He is widely travelled within India and the Globe and represented India at various platforms including ACI, ICAO etc. Effective Coordination and on-time delivery has been his forte, The Check-Lists and Forms and Formats Designed and used by him for various projects/assignments he undertook have been the Industry Standard.

With over 20 years’ experience in the aviation sector, Damien has successfully managed the entry into service of high corporate value programmes through the ORAT process and methodology.

Damien’s previous experience include a number of British airports as well as a lead role with the Airport Authority for the Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok. More recently Damien led the Operational Readiness programme for Emirates Airlines move to Terminal 3 & Concourse B and later Concourse A as well as the Terminal 2 expansion and the opening of Dubai’s second airport, Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central for passenger operations. Ashish Dongre have over 5 years of experience in Operations, Finance and Strategy across manufacturing and Airports. He was instrumental in Terminal 2 project completion and bringing in passenger perspective in the projects.

Ashish was also the client lead for the ORAT for Terminal 2 when at that time, Arup was the ORAT consultant. He leads the Finance and Strategy at GVK Airports with focus on Non-aeronautical revenue stream. As well, he led the Bangalore airport Private Equity sale at GVK Airports.

Mohd Khairulfatin Zulhaimi graduated from University Technology Malaysia with an Honour Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has 8 years progressive roles with airport operation, construction and design planning. Currently Khairulfatin works at Baggage Handling System Unit klia2 Airport as Senior Executive- Engineer.

Recently Khairul has receive Honorable Mention by ACI Asia Pacific Young Executive year 2016, whose quality submission paper on “Effective Collaboration and Cooperation among Airport Stakeholder”.

Liv Karin Sundsvold is presently the Head of Department-Operational Coordination Projects/ORAT at Avinor, Oslo Airport. Prior to this role, she was the Project Manager ORAT involved in the expansion of Oslo Airport (T2 project) from 2014-2016, and Head of Terminal processes in the Project operational coordination unit, T2 project from 2011-2014. She is a highly experienced professional in the field of airport management having been in several positions since 1995.

Liv holds an Executive Master of Management from BI Norwegian Business School, conferred in 2012 and is also a Bachelor’s Degree holder conferred by the same Insitution in 1992.

With over than 13 years, Saddam is an experienced professional with a combination of Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer, airport technical and operations expertise, and construction projects controls and planning. In the Last 7 years, Saddam has successfully played primary roles in ORAT projects, he was assigned as the Technical Manager for the ORAT team managing the equipment and building operational taking over, IT&T integration and assist management for Phase 1 of the Rehabilitation and Expansion of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) Project. For phase 2 of the same Project (QAIA), he was assigned as ORAT Project Manager responsible to lead and to plan the various stages of operational readiness preparation, to integrate and organize all activities of the transition process from the construction to full and safe operation of new the terminal expansion of the QAIA terminal building. The project considered the first successful airport public-private partnership project in Jordan and the Middle East and the largest private sector investment in Jordan to date.

SPEAKERS PROFILEMohamed I. Attia is an experienced ORAT professional with a successful career in multidisciplinary Public and Private Sector Management Consulting roles. This includes experience in Strategic & Tactical Planning, Programme and Project Management, Change Management, Stakeholder Management, Development Planning, Master planning, Operational Readiness, Activation and Migration. Having a background in Civil Engineering with Architecture (BEng. Hons) has proven valuable in his understating of the balance between design and delivery.

Mohamed is the ORAT Lead for the ongoing Concourse C Refurbishment and Upgrade project, and is responsible for managing and delivering the Concourse’s overall Entry into Service. His five (5) main areas of focus include People Readiness and EIS, Business Technology, Facilities and Building Systems, Process and Trials and Airside & Stand Readiness. Mohamed’s previous ORAT project experience includes DXB Concourse D– Strategy and Development ORAT Work Stream Lead, DXB Terminal 2– ORAT Lead for Phased Delivery and Expansion, DXB Concourse A– Process & Trials Work Stream Lead and DXB/DWC– Multiple Support Facility Delivery and Entry into Service. Having gained a wealth of knowledge and experience across a variety of ORAT projects, Mohamed has successfully helped create and implement the DXB ORAT methodology across multiple projects past and present.

Mr. Vikram Singh is an International Airport Professional (IAP) with a rich experience of more than 20 years in the field of Airport Operations. After completion of his MBA, he started his career as Management Trainee in Airports Authority of India in 1995. During his career in aviation he has worked in Operations Department of AAI in various capacities. He has handled the portfolios of terminal management and airside management at Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata Airport and Corporate Headquarter of AAI.

While working in AAI CHQ, he handled the portfolios of flight scheduling and safety management system. he was instrumental in the process of obtaining first ever aerodrome licenses in India for Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Trivandrum Airports. He was also an important member of the team establishing the procedures for change management at AAI airports. He is presently working at NSCBI Airport, Kolkata as Jt.GM (Ops) and handling the functions of Airside Management. He played important role in shifting of operations from the old apron to new apron equipped with 18 aerobridges linked to new terminal of Kolkata Airport. He also contributed in transiting the airport operation from a manual system of resource allocation to a well established AOCC at Kolkata Airport. The smooth transition process and good synchronization between airside and terminal functions during this time and also during the period of his tenure as terminal in-charge at NSCBI Airport, Kolkata resulted in best improved airport award to airport consequently for two years 2013 and 2014.

Pablo started his career in the aviation industry in 2010 when he joined Heathrow Airport as a Process Leader, responsible for the relocation of airlines in preparation of the construction of Terminal 2 – The Queens Terminal. In 2012 he assumed overall responsibility of the planning and delivery of the Arrivals Passenger Experience for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, including the Operational Readiness of Heathrow’s four terminals to cope with unparalleled traffic volumes. Subsequently, Pablo joined the Terminal 2 ORAT Team as Trials Manager, successfully delivering a programme of 182 trials, culminating in the delivery of a series of advanced trials with up to 3,200 trial passengers and 10,000 bags on 48 flights and over 500 staff across 30 different stakeholders, leading to the successful open-ing of T2 on 4th June 2014.

Following the T2 opening, Pablo joined Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC) as Operational Readiness Manager in August 2014, where he led the Operational Readiness of the airport operator for the opening of Salalah Airport in June 2015. Currently Pablo is leading the airport operator’s prepa-rations for the ORAT program and ultimately the opening of Muscat International Airport, including OAMC’s Project Management Office. Prior to his tenure in the aviation industry, Pablo worked in a range of industries including automotive, pharmaceutics, financial services and consultancy in the field of operational performance improvement.
