Positive DisplacementPackage SystemsROBOX blower package systems of ferthe advantages of positive displacementblowers without the noise. Each com-pact package consists of a PD blower,motor, and other system componentshoused in an acoustic enclosure. Furthersound conditioning is provided by aunique inlet filter/silencer that can betuned to dampen noise at a specificflow rate. The ROBOX unit is equippedwith a self-tensioning drive system forlonger belt life and prepiped internally foreasy installation.

Package FeaturesInlet Filter/SilencerThe inlet filter/silencer is a combination unit whichcan be easily replaced. The silencer consists ofan absorptive component designed to reducenoise at frequencies ≥500 Hz and a unique,adjustable device which can be tuned to reducenoise at a given flow. The filter is situated insidethe silencer before the blower inlet, avoiding anypossibility of air contamination.

Discharge SilencerThe discharge silencer is a reactive type withoutdeadening material. It is fitted with a unique,adjustable resonator which also can be tuned tomaximize noise reduction. The absence of dead-ening material avoids polluting the conveyed gasand improves the silencer’s efficiency. The dis-charge silencer is an integral part of the base-plate, common to the blower and motor.

V-Belt DriveBlowers in ROBOX positive displacement pack -ages are V-belt driven; belt guards are included.A unique device, supporting the motor on mov-able brackets, reduces the bearing load on boththe blower and motor. Other benefits includesteady V-belt tensioning via a specialized springloading system and easy adaptation to differentsize blowers and motors.

Electric MotorStandard motors are NEMA Design B, 230/460volts, TEFC or open drip-proof. Special motorsare available upon request.

Safety ValveA spring-type safety valve limits the operat-ing differential pressure of the blower. Thisvalve is weatherproof and constructed ofgalvanized cast iron.

Check ValveA check valve prevents counter-rotation ofthe blower when stopped under load. It alsoallows parallel operation of multiple ROBOXpackages without installing check valves onthe manifold piping drop legs. It is made ofgalvanized steel with an O-ring seal for hightemperature operation.

Acoustical EnclosureThe acoustical enclosure helps the ROBOXpackage meet OSHA standards when theblower is operating at high speed. It is madeof self-supporting galvanized steel panelswith noise-dampening polyurethane. Theenclosure baseplate is made of steel anddesigned for easy lifting and moving of theROBOX package. An internal ventilationsystem is operated by a 115-volt, singlephase power supply. Also provided are externalreadout gauges on the enclosure housing.

CertificationA certified factory noise test is availableupon request.
