About this Manual

Purpose

This manual is a guide to SPAZIO Managed File Transfer/Secure (SPAZIO MFT/S) system administration for distributed platforms. It primarily provides the reader with a description of the SPAZIO Administrator graphical interface for use in Windows environments, and its menu-driven counterpart, SPAZIO Administrator Terminal, for use in non-Windows environments.

The manual provides a step-by-step description of system administration tasks, for example:

Creating Queues, DQLs and User Classes

Viewing information on existing SPAZIO objects

User intervention such as activating/deactivating Queue Managers, Communication Lines and the Transport Monitor, as well as setting trace levels for these objects

Listing, setting and modifying security settings.

Reader

This manual is provided for the SPAZIO system administrator. It is assumed that the reader has reasonable knowledge of SPAZIO and of the relevant Windows or UNIX operating systems.

Programming knowledge is not required, but any familiarity with SPAZIO objects from the point of view of using, installing or configuring SPAZIO would be an advantage.

Chapter 1 SPAZIO Administrator: Getting Started

SPAZIO Administrator is a graphical utility for the administration of a SPAZIO network. The program provides the SPAZIO system administrator with a user-friendly hierarchical view of the objects that make up the network.

This chapter describes the SPAZIO Administrator user interface, while the following chapter provides detailed instructions for performing each of the available operations.

NOTE

A menu-driven interface, SPAZIO Administrator Terminal, provides similar functionality for non-windows users. Chapter 6: SPAZIO Administrator Terminal describes the program in detail.

1.3 Opening SPAZIO Administrator

1 Make sure that SPAZIO is installed and running.

2 Click Start – Programs – Primeur – Spazio Server - Spazio Administrator, or click the SPAZIO Administrator icon on the desktop.

3 The following screen appears:

If required, enter the correct user ID and password:

5 Click OK.

SPAZIO Administrator now opens.

NOTE

If you try to open SPAZIO Administrator, and SPAZIO is either not installed or not running, the following error message appears:

Click “OK”.

If required enter the correct user ID / password combination in the initial login box.

SPAZIO Administrator opens, displaying the following icon in the left-hand panel:

To retry starting SPAZIO Administrator (for example, after first starting SPAZIO) right-click this item and click “Retry” in the menu that appears. If SPAZIO is running, SPAZIO Administrator starts up and the initial login box appears again.



1.4 The SPAZIO Administrator Interface

When you open SPAZIO Administrator, the following screen appears (the Main screen):

This screen is made up of the following areas:

1.4.1 Title Bar

This displays the name of the program, and contains three buttons on the right which you can use to

Minimize the window

Maximize / restore the window

Close the window (and the program)

1.4.2 Menu Bar and Drop-down Menus

This lets you access the three SPAZIO Administrator menus: Action, View and Help.



1.4.2.1 Action menu

The Action menu contains the following items:

1.4.3 Toolbar

This bar contains a number of buttons that provide point-and-click access to most SPAZIO Administrator operations. The following table describes the function of each button and the equivalent menu command:

1.4.4 Workspace

This is the main part of the GUI, and is divided into two panels:

The SPAZIO Objects panel

The Properties or Contents panel

The left panel contains the names of SPAZIO objects. The right panel contains the properties and/or the contents of the object selected in the left panel.

The range of objects that can be displayed in the left panel differs for local and remote nodes, as the following screen images show:

1.4.4.1 Expanding / collapsing SPAZIO objects and folders

When SPAZIO Administrator starts, the objects in the left panel are all collapsed. That is, the only icons visible are those representing the nodes in the network. To see the contents of a node, or any object in the left panel of the screen you must expand it by performing one of the following actions:

Click the object

If there is a “+” symbol to the left of the object, click this

Right-click the object and choose Expand from the pop-up menu

If the object is selected but collapsed, choose Action – Expand

To collapse an expanded object or folder

Click the “–“ symbol to the left of the object

Right-click the object and choose Collapse from the pop-up menu

Select the object and choose Action – Collapse

1.4.4.2 Performing operations on SPAZIO objects

SPAZIO Administrator allows you to perform a wide range of operations on SPAZIO objects. These operations are listed in Chapter 2: Using SPAZIO Administrator. In general, to perform an operation on an object:

Select the object or folder in the left panel of the screen

Perform the operation by

Clicking the relevant button on the toolbar



Choosing a menu command from the menu bar

Right-clicking the object and selecting a command from the pop-up menu.

NOTE: some operations can be activated using all three of the above methods while others may be available through only one or two actions.

1.4.5 Status Bar

This bar contains various items of information

The name of the currently selected object, or a status message such as Connecting …

The current date

The current time

1.5 Closing SPAZIO Administrator

To close SPAZIO Administrator, click the close button on the title bar, or choose Action – Exit.

If one or more Queue Managers are connected, they are automatically disconnected by the close operation.


Chapter 2 Using SPAZIO Administrator

2.1 Introduction

SPAZIO Administrator allows you to perform certain administration tasks for both Local and Remote SPAZIO nodes as follows:

2.1.1 Local node administration

View the name and contents of the node.

List Queue Managers, Queues, DQLs, Communication Lines, Line Conversations Transport Classes, Transport Agents, and Tasks.

View the properties of Queue Managers, Queues, DQLs, Communication Lines, Line Conversations, the Transport Monitor, Transport Classes, Transport Agents, and Tasks.

Activate/deactivate Queue Managers, Communication Lines and the Transport Monitor.

Connect to/disconnect from Queue Managers.

Create/delete Queues, DQLs, and User Classes.

View and set security permissions for Queue Managers, and default security permissions for Queues and DQLs belonging to a specific Queue Manager.

Set trace levels for Queue Managers, Communication Lines and the Transport Monitor.

2.1.2 Remote node administration


List Queue Managers, Queues, DQLs and Line Addresses.

View the properties of Queue Managers, Queues, DQLs, and Line Addresses.



View and set security permissions for Queue Managers, and default security permissions for Queues and DQLs belonging to a specific Queue Manager.

2.2 Notes on Using SPAZIO Administrator

2.2.1 A note for users who are new to Windows

As described in Chapter 1: SPAZIO Administrator – Getting Started, many commands can be activated through a variety of mechanisms, including drop-down menus, pop-up or right-click menus, buttons and icons.

Throughout this chapter, in most cases only the simplest methods of performing an operation are documented (e.g. clicking a particular button on the toolbar). See Chapter 1: SPAZIO Administrator – Getting Started for an overview of available menus and buttons.

2.3 System administration operations

Sections 2.3.1 to 2.3.9 describe the range of operations that SPAZIO Administrator allows you to perform on the various SPAZIO objects (Queue Managers, Queues, DQLs, User Classes, Communication Lines, the Transport Monitor, Transport Classes, Transport Agents, and Tasks) on both Local and Remote Nodes.

NOTE: SPAZIO Administrator does not permit the same range of operations for Remote Node objects as it does for Local Node objects. The differences in functionality are clearly indicated throughout the rest of this chapter.

2.3.1 Queue Managers

The sections below describe the operations that you can perform on local Queue Managers using SPAZIO Administrator.

NOTE: Queue Managers are created (or, more precisely, defined) through the SPAZIO configuration process. See SPAZIO MFT/S for Distributed Platforms: Installation and Configuration Guide for further details.



2.3.1.1 List Queue Managers

1 If the contents of the Node are not already expanded, click the Node icon in the left panel of the workspace (the Local Node is the first node listed).

The only property displayed for a Queue Manager on a Remote Node is the Name.

NOTE: for SPAZIO Administrator, these properties are read-only. Their values are assigned and modified through the configuration process (see SPAZIO MFT/S for Distributed Platforms: Installation and Configuration Guide for details).

2.3.1.3 Activate an inactive Queue Manager (Local Node only)

You can activate a Queue Manager if it is

Not connected (see section 2.3.1.5), and

Not active (the Active property of the Queue Manager is False – see section 2.3.1.2)

This mode is valid only for MVS nodes. Interval Optional.

Alternate to Hold, Immediate, Use Transport Class parameters. It identifies the time of the day at which the delivery of a message/file starts and ends. If selected, two fields appear and the user must indicate the values in the format HHMMSS.

This mode is valid only for MVS nodes. Use Transport Class Optional.

Alternate to Hold, Immediate, Interval parameters. The user can specify a transport class, different from the default transport class, to be used for files contained in this queue.

NOTE: if the user specifies an incorrect password when defining a remote queue, subsequent transmissions to this queue will fail (status "Failed"). Normally transmissions in "Failed" status require manual intervention by the user (New Transport) in order to restart them. In this case, however, it is enough to specify the correct password in the definition of the remote queue and the transmissions will restart and complete automatically.

2.3.2.6 Delete a Queue

1 Select a local or remote queue.

2 Click the button on the toolbar.

3 The Remove Queue dialog box appears:

4 If no Set password was assigned to the queue, leave the Password field

blank. If a Set password is required, enter the correct password.

5 The queue is now deleted.

2.3.2.7 View and Set the Security properties of a Queue

To view or change the security properties of a queue, select the queue and choose View – Security or right-click the queue and choose Security.

Refer to Chapter 3: Security Management for details on how to set and modify the permissions.

2.3.2.8 Storage Class

A Storage Class is applied to a Queue Manager and specifies the attributes (in particular the data catalogue path and the maximum number of files that can be stored in a queue) that characterize the queues belonging to the Queue Manager to which such class is applied.

A Storage Class must be defined in the SPQM.INI configuration file and is made up of the following attributes:

2.3.3 DQLs

The sections below describe the operations that you can perform on DQLs (Destination Queue Lists) belonging to a Queue Manager on a Local or Remote Node using SPAZIO Administrator.

A DQL is a SPAZIO object that groups together a set of queues to which you want to send files or messages. In SPAZIO you can add an item to a DQL by naming a destination queue and its Queue Manager.

NOTE: all queues of a DQL must also belong to the same storage class. If a DQL item is a Queue Manager queue type (M queue type), all the other DQL queues must belong to the default storage class that is the first defined in SPQM.INI.



2.3.3.1 List DQLs

1 Click the DQLs folder in the left panel of the screen.

2.3.3.4 Create a DQL

The easiest way to explain DQL creation is through a simple example. The following sections describe the creation of a DQL called dql2.

Requirements for the example DQL

The following are the requirements for the example DQL dql2:

It must include two queues under Queue Manager BORODIN called FRMQMGR1 and FRMMVSND

It must include one queue under Queue Manager MVSNODE called FRMQMGR1

Read, Write and Set passwords must be specified for the DQL.

NOTE: in this example, two queues share the same name (FRMQMGR1). This is possible since both queues belong to different Queue Managers.

Structure of the example DQL

The following diagram represents the DQL to be created:

Create the new DQL object

The first step is to create a new (empty) DQL, providing a name, description (optional) and various passwords (optional). In this case the DQL will be called dql2. Read, Write and Set passwords will be specified.

The following steps describe how to create this DQL:

1 Select the DQLs folder under the relevant Queue Manager.

Add items to the DQL

The rest of this section describes how to add items to the DQL. To follow the example described previously, the steps involved are:

Add a Queue Manager BORODIN as a child of the DQL dql2.

Add a Local Queue FRMQMGR1 as child of Queue Manager BORODIN.

Add a Local Queue FRMMVSND as a sibling of Local Queue FRMQMGR1. (Note: FRMMVSND could equally be inserted as another child of BORODIN.)

Add a second Queue Manager MVSNODE as a child of the DQL dql2. (Note: MVSNODE could equally be inserted as a sibling of BORODIN.)

Add a Local Queue also called FRMQMGR1 as child of Queue Manager FRMMVSND.

The following steps describe these procedures:

1 To enter the first item in the DQL, click Insert Child.

2 The DQL Item dialog box appears:



3 Type BORODIN (the name of the first Queue Manager containing destination queues for the DQL) in the Name field.

4 Leave the Address Type as the default 0, indicating SPAZIO.

5 Select the object type (in this case Queue Manager) from the list in the Type field.

6 Queue Manager BORODIN is now added to the DQL:

7 Next, select Queue Manager BORODIN, and click the Insert Child button.

8 The DQL Item box appears again:

9 Type FRMQMGR1 (the name of the first destination queue under Queue Manager BORODIN) in the Name field.

17 Leave the Address Type as the default SPAZIO.

Chapter 3 Security Management

3.1 Introduction

SPAZIO Administrator provides comprehensive security functionality through highly configurable access rights to a range of SPAZIO objects at various levels:

Login - access to the SPAZIO Administrator program itself is limited to those users with appropriate access rights.

Nodes - at the top level, access rights for SPAZIO users can be configured for each node in the network.

Queue Managers - access rights for SPAZIO users can be defined for individual Queue Managers. At this level, you can also specify default Queue and DQL permissions, which will be inherited by all Queues and DQLs created under a specific Queue Manager.

Queues and DQLs - access rights for existing Queues and DQLs can be modified.

3.2 Logging in to SPAZIO Administrator

Basic authentication is required in order to access SPAZIO Administrator, whether you wish to perform security management or any other operations (for example, those described in Chapter 2 of this manual).

3.2.1 Access control for SPAZIO Administrator

When you start SPAZIO Administrator, you are requested for a User ID and Password. For information about creating, deleting, and managing user accounts, see the SPAZIO MFT/S for Distributed Platforms: Installation and Configuration manual.

In order to access SPAZIO Administrator you must be part of the SPAZIO Administrators group.

3.2.2 Login procedure

1 Start SPAZIO Administrator.

2 Enter the required user name and password:

NOTE: if you have checked the Always show login dialog box for the connections option (see section 2.4: Setting SPAZIO Administrator Options), your SPAZIO Administrator session will always begin with the Access Denied dialog box.

3.3 Node-level security

SPAZIO Administrator allows you to set and modify access rights for the Node object. Section 3.3.1: Node permissions describes the various types of access that can be specified for a Node. Sections 3.3.2 to 3.3.5 explain how to associate specific permissions with user groups, how to modify these rights and how to add/remove users or groups from the access list for a specific Node.

3.3.1 Node permissions

As you will see later, SPAZIO Administrator lets you manipulate security permissions at the level of individual access rights (through the Special Access option), or by specifying pre-defined sets of rights (No Access, Operator and Full Control options).

3.3.1.1 Table of access rights for Nodes

The following table lists the access rights that can be specified for Nodes:

3.3.1.2 Types of Node access

Four preset types of access are available for Nodes:

No Access - all access rights to the Node are disabled for a specific user or group.

Full Control - all access rights to the Node are granted for a specific user or group.

Operator - all access rights except Get Node Permissions, Set Node Permissions and Take Node Ownership are granted for a specific user or group.

Special Access - allows you to grant one or more of the access rights specified in section 3.3.1.1, or to specify Full Control, for a specific user or group.

3.3.2 Changing access rights for groups

1 Right-click a node in the left panel of the screen and choose Security… from the pop-up menu (or select a node in the left panel of the screen and choose View - Security ... from the menu bar).

2 The Security screen appears:

3 The Name column contains a list of groups for which access rights to the Node have been defined.

The Rights column specifies the access rights granted for each group, either as an access type (for example, No Access) or as a string of concatenated access codes (for example, SpGpSoGoDoC). These access rights, codes and types are explained in sections 3.3.1.1 and 3.3.1.2 above).

4 Select a group from the list in the Name column.

3.4 Queue Manager-level security

At Queue Manager level, SPAZIO Administrator lets you manage access to three security objects:

Queue Managers - you can set and change access rights for a given Queue Manager

Queues (default) - by setting default permissions for queues, you are specifying a series of security features that will be applied to all queues created under the current Queue Manager.

DQLs (default) - by setting default permissions for DQLs, you are specifying a series of security features that will be applied to all DQLs created under the current Queue Manager.

3.4.1 Accessing Queue Manager security management

To perform Queue Manager security management:

1 Connect to a Queue Manager in the left panel of the screen.

2 Right-click the Queue Manager and choose Security… from the pop-up menu (or select the Queue Manager and choose View - Security ... from the menu bar).

NOTE: security options can not be specified for Queues or DQLs at creation time. Instead, each Queue or DQL created assumes the default permissions associated with its Queue Manager (see sections 3.4.3 and 3.4.4).

Chapter 4 Transport Manager

4.1 Introduction

SPAZIO Transport Manager allows you to view session details of File/Message transport session that have taken place on a Local or remote Queue Manager and their respective Queues.

To run Transport Manager make sure that SPAZIO is installed and running.

Click Start – Programs – Primeur- Spazio Server - Spazio Event Manager, or click the Transport Manager icon on the desktop:

If you try to open Transport Manager and SPAZIO is either not installed or not running, the Spazio Server not available error message appears.

4.2 A note for users who are new to Windows applications

There are several ways to access most of the functions provided by Transport Manager, including:

Point-and-click methods (for example, pressing a button on the toolbar)

Menus opened from the menu bar

Menus opened by clicking an object (for example, a Queue Manager) with right mouse button.

Alternative methods are pointed out where appropriate in this chapter.

4.3 View or modify Transport Manager runtime options

You can customize your Transport Manager session through a series of user-modifiable options. To access these options, choose View – Options. The dialog box that appears contains two tabs, General, and Startup.

4.3.1 General options

The first tab in the Options dialog box contains the General options for the current node.

You must connect to a Queue Manager before you can view Session details. When connecting a list of the Queue Managers to which you can connect are displayed in a dialog box:

4.6 View Transport Session Summary (Slave)

SPAZIO Transport Manager allows you to view the session details associated with a Slave Transport. This is usually associated with a Remote Queue Manager.

1 To view the session details follow Steps 1 to 4 from section 4.5.1 - View Session Summary from a Queue Manager.

2 At this point select the Slave option. A remote Queue Manager is then displayed.

3 To display the session details follow the Steps 5 to 9 from section 4.5.1 - View Session Summary from a Queue Manager.

4.7 View Transport Session Summary (Pull)

SPAZIO Transport Manager allows you to view the session details associated with a Slave Transport. This is usually associated with a Remote Queue Manager.

1 To view the session details follow Steps 1 to 4 from section 4.5.1 - View Session Summary from a Queue Manager.

2 At this point select the Pull option. A remote Queue Manager is then displayed.

3 To display the session details follow the Steps 5 to 9 from section 4.5.1 - View Session Summary from a Queue Manager.

4.8 File Session Options

By selecting one of the File/Message transfer sessions SPAZIO Transport Manager enables the following options: Info, Stop, Resume, Delete, New Transport and Force Delete for each file transfer Session.

Chapter 5 Log Viewer

5.1 Introduction

SPAZIO Log Viewer allows you to view details of any active or inactive SPAZIO session.

To run Log Viewer make sure that SPAZIO is installed and running and Click Start – Programs – Primeur- Spazio Server - Spazio Log Manager, or click the Log Viewer icon on the desktop.

If you try to open Log Viewer and SPAZIO is either not installed or not running, the Spazio Server not available error message appears.

5.2 A note for users who are new to Windows applications

There are several ways to access most of the functions provided by Log Manager, including:

Point-and-click methods (for example, pressing a button on the toolbar)

Menus opened from the menu bar

Menus opened by clicking an object (for example, a Queue Manager) with right mouse button

Alternative methods are pointed out where appropriate in this chapter.

5.3 View or modify Log Manager runtime options

You can customize your Log Manager session through a series of user-modifiable options. To access these options, choose View – Options. The dialog box that appears contains three tabs, General, Startup and Color.

5.3.1 General options

The first tab in the Options dialog box contains the General options for the current node.

5.3.4 Applying changes to the options

After you have modified any fields in the three tabs of the Options dialog box, click Apply and then OK to enforce the changes.

If you wish to exit the operation without applying the changes, click Cancel.

5.4 Connecting to a Queue Manager

You must connect to a Queue Manager before you can view Session Logs. When connecting a list of the Queue Managers to which you can connect are displayed in a dialog box.

5.4.1 Connect to a Queue Manager

To connect to a Queue Manager:

1 Click the button, or choose Action – Connect to Node . The following menu appears.

4 If security is enabled for the selected Queue Manager the following dialog box appears:

5 Enter the correct User ID and Password, and click OK to connect.

NOTE: you can only connect to one Queue Manager at a time. If you are connected to one Queue Manager, and try to connect to a second (without disconnecting from the first), the following dialog box appears:

Click ‘Yes’ to disconnect from the current Queue Manager, and ‘No’ to connect to the new Queue Manager.

5.5 Extended Log View

This function lets you view session properties associated with a particular session. To view session properties:

Chapter 6 SPAZIO Administrator Terminal

6.1 Introduction

SPAZIO Administrator Terminal is an administration tool for use with SPAZIO in non-Windows environments.

6.1.1 Functionality

SPAZIO Administrator Terminal provides similar functionality to SPAZIO Administrator described in Chapters 1 and 2. In addition, it allows you to view and intervene in active transport operations as well as performing a series of operations on files.

6.1.1.1 System Administration

SPAZIO Administrator Terminal allows you to perform certain administration tasks for both Local and Remote SPAZIO nodes as follows:

List Queue Managers, Queues, Queues, DQLs, Communication Lines, Line Conversations Transport Classes, Transport Agents, and Tasks.

6.3 The SPAZIO Administrator Terminal interface

The SPAZIO Administrator Terminal interface consists of a series of screens that allow you to make choices from menus, and in some cases to enter text. Screens are divided into three areas:

The upper panel contains menus from which you can choose various items.

The central panel displays information and also accepts user input.

The bottom of the screen contains an area for displaying status and error messages.

6.5 The Main Screen

When you open SPAZIO Administrator Terminal the following screen appears:

When you select this option from the Local Node Management menu, the Current Node Management menu appears.

You are requested to specify a timeout for this session. Type the value in seconds, or leave blank to accept the default value, and press ENTER (default Connection Timeout = 5 min.).

Next you are prompted for a user ID and password. Enter the relevant details and press ENTER.



This menu contains six options:

3 Press ENTER to display the Transport Monitor Management menu:

This menu contains three options:

6.6.2.1 Summary Information

This function provides summary information about transport activity towards and from the current node.

1 When you choose this option from the Transport Monitor Management menu, you are prompted to select a local Queue Manager:

3 Select ALL to view summary information on all remote Queue Managers, or select one of the remote Queue Managers listed to view summary information on that Queue Manager alone.

4 Press ENTER to display the next screen:

6.6.2.2 Transport Management

The Transport Management option lets you access increasingly detailed data about transport activities, and allows transport management operations.

1 When you choose this option from the Transport Monitor Management menu, you are prompted to select a local Queue Manager:

3 Select a direction. The options are as follows:

6.6.3.4 Disconnect

6.6.4 Connection to Queue Manager

Selecting this option from the Local Node Management menu (see section 6.6) allows you to

Connect to a local Queue Manager and perform a series of operations on the SPAZIO objects that it manages (Queues, DQLs, User Classes and Files)

Restart a previously attempted file dispatch or file acquire operation.

Select NORMAL to proceed to the SPAZIO Object Management menu from where you can perform operations on the various objects (see section 6.6.4.1).



Select RESTART to restart a previously attempted file dispatch or file acquire operation (see section 6.6.4.2).

6.6.4.1 Connect to Queue Manager for SPAZIO object management

1 If you selected NORMAL in section 6.6.4, the following screen appears:

Delete Queue

3 If the queue is password-protected you are next asked to enter the correct password.



4 Finally, you are asked to either confirm or cancel the deletion operation:

5 If you choose CANCEL OPERATION you are returned to the Queue Management menu (see section 6.6.4.1.1).

If you choose CONFIRM QUEUE DELETION, the queue should be deleted and the message QUEUE DELETION OK appears at the bottom of the screen.

Update Queue

1 Choose UPDATE QUEUE from the Queue Management menu to update an existing queue. The following screen appears listing queues belonging to the current Queue Manager:

2 Select a queue you wish to update from the list and press ENTER. The following screen is displayed:



3 Select UPDATE QUEUE and press ENTER.

4 A list of queue properties is displayed (ro and rw). Select the property you wish to modify and press ENTER.



5 Enter the new value and press ENTER.

6 CONFIRM or CANCEL the operation.

A QUEUE UPDATE OK message is displayed if the update has completed successfully.

List Queues

1 Choose LIST QUEUES from the Queue Management menu to list queues belonging to the current Queue Manager:

For each row the following attributes are displayed:

Queue type (SPAZIO in the sample window above)

VF = Number of currently visible files stored in the queue (“not visible” files are those that have expired and those in standby for clean up or the files that are being received but the transfer is not yet completed)

TF = Number of files currently stored in the queue

TM = Number of messages currently stored in the queue



PM = Number of persistent messages currently stored in the queue

NM = Number of non-persistent messages currently stored in the queue

Queue description (for local queue) or pointed remote Queue and Queue Manager (for remote queue).

2 Select a queue from the list and press ENTER to display information on that queue:

If you choose CONFIRM CLASS UPDATE, the user class should be updated and the message CLASS UPDATE OK appears at the bottom of the screen.

List Files

1 Choose LIST FILES from the File Management menu to list files in a queue belonging to the current Queue Manager:

2 Select a queue and press ENTER. You are now given the option to filter the set of files that will be listed for the selected queue:



3 Specify the fields you wish to use to filter the list of files.

Delete Files

1 Choose DELETE FILES from the File Management menu to delete files from a queue belonging to the current Queue Manager:

6 Select the file you wish to delete. Press ENTER. The following screen appears:

7 Press ENTER or ESC to return to the list of files in the preceding screen. From there either chooses another file, or press ENTER or ESC to return to the File Management menu.



6.6.4.1.5 Message Management

Choose MESSAGE MANAGEMENT from the Object Management menu. The following screen appears:

1 To put carry out a Put Message Operation choose PUT MESSAGE from the Message Management menu. The following screen appears:

2 You are asked to select the Queue Address Type you wish to put the message to.

3 Select the Queue you wish to put the message to and press ENTER.

6.6.4.1.6 Security Management

1 Choose SECURITY MANAGEMENT from the Queue Management menu to Manage Security on a Queue Manager:

2 You are now given the option to manage security on a Queue Manager or Queue Definition.

3 Select either QUEUE MANAGER or QUEUE DEF and press ENTER

4 The following menu is displayed (Security Management is explained in section 6.6.1.6).



6.6.4.1.7 Disconnect QM

Choose DISCONNECT QM from the Object Management menu to return to the Local Node Management menu.

6.6.4.2 Connect to Queue Manager to perform a Restart operation

1 Select the CONNECTION TO QUEUE MANAGER option from the Local Node Management menu (see section 6.6), to restart a previously attempted file dispatch or file acquire operation.

2 When you select this option you are prompted to select a local Queue Manager (there is probably only one):



3 Select the Queue Manager and press ENTER to display the following screen:

4 You are now prompted to select the type of restart operation (which must be either DISPATCH or ACQUISITION), and to enter the name of the restart file:

5 Press ENTER to begin the restart operation. Press ESC to return to the Local Node Management menu (see section 6.6).



6.7 Remote Node Management

1 When you choose SELECT REMOTE NODE from the Main screen, the Select Node screen appears:

2 Choose a node from the list and press ENTER. The Remote Node Management menu appears:

Follow the instructions in section 6.6.2.

6.7.3 Application Log Management

These functions will be implemented in a future release.

6.7.4 Connection to Queue Manager

Follow the instructions in section 6.6.4.

6.7.5 Exit

Select this option from the Remote Node Management menu (see section 6.7) to return to the Main menu (see section 6.5).



6.8 Closing SPAZIO Administrator Terminal

Return to the Main screen (pressing ESC as many times as necessary), and either:

Press ESC again,

or

Select EXIT PROGRAM and press ENTER.
