Many of CMOM’s parents and grandparents remember riding the historic 1909 Dentzel Grand Carousel at Libertyland before it closed in 2005. Unfortunately, this beautiful treasure listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 has been in storage since 2009. The Children’s Museum has secured a 25-year lease from the City of Memphis to have “The Memphis Grand Carousel” restored and re-opened in 2017. The museum will launch a capital campaign later this year to construct a building to house the carousel. We hope the entire community joins us in helping save and preserve the carousel for many generations to come! For more information on how you can help, email rch@cmom.com.

Hop, skip and jump to the Easter Eggs-travaganza at CMOM. Eggivities include an appearance by the Easter Bunny, face painting, an egg roll, bunny toss and crafts. Bring your own Easter Baskets and stay for the age-divided Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 11:30. There will also be an adult hunt that features 3 Golden Eggs with Family Memberships as prizes! Find a Peter Rabbit Egg and it will be filled with a special prize! Be sure to stay for the “BEST” decorated Easter Basket and Easter Hat contest. Judging will be at noon. Both contests will have awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Prizes will be CMOM Family Memberships for 1st place winners and gift certificates to the Village Toymaker for 2nd and 3rd place winners. Non-Members are $15 and members are free. All activities and museum admission are included in the ticket price.

Easter Eggs-travaganza!Saturday, March 28, 10am-1pm

In honor of Read Across America Day, The Cat in the Hat will be here to help us celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday. We'll decorate cookies as we sing Happy Birthday to the man of

honor. You will hear Dr. Seuss stories and make fun Cat in the Hat crafts. Each child will be given a book to take home and have an opportunity to take a picture with The Cat in the Hat. We're licking our paws 'til we see you here. All activities are included with museum admission.

Come and join us for a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, pastries and orange juice while visiting with the Easter Bunny. Pose for a special photo and make an Easter craft. Space is limited and reservations are required. Members are $12 and non-members are $15. Ticket price does not include admission to the Easter Eggs-travaganza or museum exhibits. April is the Month of the Military Child. This awareness month was established to underscore the important role children play in the Armed Forces community. There are approximately 2 million military children, ranging in ages from newborn to 18 years old; 1.3 million military children are school-aged. Care of military children sustains our fighting force, and strengthens the health, security, and safety of our nation's families and communities. Join us as we celebrate and honor the children who are a part of the amazing military families with crafts, music, and games. All activities are included with museum admission.

Is your toddler tech savvy? Children today are learning to use technology earlier and earlier! Toddler Techies is designed to give your little one a jump start on learning with an iPad. Each week focuses on a different area of learning. The last 10 minutes of each program is free play time on the iPad with parental supervision.

"That's a Wrap" - Special Events at CMOM!Dreams came true at the Winter Fantasy Tea! Visitors were able to meet three of their favorite princesses while sipping on tea and tasting sweet pastries. Everyone had a ball while they danced and sang, but still made it home before the clock struck midnight!

At the Ignite the Dream for Dr. King event, visitors were able to view the ever-growing peace quilt and add their hand prints to the Hands of Hope Graffiti Wall. Matthew Kelley performed the "I Have a Dream" speach and the Keeper of the Dream Award was given to Christie E. Johnson and Leslie Barnes for their commitment to our children.
