introduCtion Dear Customer,TheinstructionscontainedinthismanualaretheretohelpyouinstallandoperatetheSpareWheelCarriereasily.Pleasetaketimetoreadthroughalltheinstructionscarefullybeforeinstallingthecarrierandcomplywiththetechnicalinformation.Itisadvisabletokeeptheoperatinginstructionswiththeothervehiclemanualssuppliedwiththecaravan

SAfety inStruCtionS - Installthesparewheelcarriersothatthesparewheelcanbetakenofffromthepavementsideoftheroad(nearside).

- Afterfitting,checkthatthecarrierissecurelyfixedandworkingproperly.- Beforesettingoffonajourney,ensurethatthestarhandleissecuredinplacewiththesecuringhook.

- Fittingthesparewheelcarriersadds6kgtotheunladenweightofthecaravanandby7.8kgiftheholdingplates(ptno294284)arefitted.Thereforethepayloadofthecaravanwillbeaffectedbythisweightaddition.

- Theoperationofotherequipmentshouldnotbeimpairedbythefittingofthesparewheelcarrier.

ASSembly Assembly of the tubular carrier frame Thetwotelescopictubes(fig.1/1)areheldinplacebytheconnectionbracket(fig.1/5)andtheendplate(fig.2/4).Securetheconnectionbracketinplacewith2clampbrackets(fig.1/6),4hexagonheadscrewsM6x12(fig.1/22)and4hexagonnuts(fig.1/23).Thespacefromtheendplateshouldbeapprox400mm(payattentiontothesizeofthetyre).Screwtheendplate(fig.2/4)tothetelescopictubeswithhexagonheadscrewsM6x30(fig.2/21)and4hexagonnuts(fig.2/23).Insertthelockingscrew(fig.2/9)fromtheinsideoutthroughtheborehole(dia13mm).Tightenitwiththehexagonnuts(fig.2/15).Inserttheslidingpartontotheframefollowingtheassemblyofthetelescopictubes.Screwonthestargrip(fig.2/8)andhangonthesecuringchain(fig.2/10).

Securing the Spare wheel in place AhexagonheadscrewM12(fig.6/14)issecuredinplaceinthemiddle pre-punchedholeontheconnectionbracketwithtwowashers(fig.6/16)andahexagonnut(fig.6/18).Dependingonthediameteroftheholeofthewheel,ahexagonheadscrewM12(fig.6/14)issecuredinplaceintheelongatedholeoftheconnectionbracketwithtwowashers(fig.6/16)andahexagonnut(fig.6/18).

Thespacebetweenthewheelrimandtheconnectionbracket(fig.6/5)isalsosetwithaself-lockingnut(fig.8/19).Thesparewheelistightenedonceinthemiddlewiththetaperclampingsleeve(fig.6/7)andontheholecirclewiththetaperednut(fig.6/13).N.B.Onlytightenthetaperedclampandthetaperednuttothepointwherethesparewheelsitssecurelyonthesparewheelholder.Excessivetighteningcanleadtodamagetothewheel(pressurepoints).Thetwoself-lockingnuts(fig.6/19),whicharesetinaccordancewiththeheightofthewheelrim,serveasalimitstopforthetaperclampingsleeve(fig.6/7)andtaperednut(fig.6/13).

Assembly of the add-on kit, part no. 294284 Thespacebetweentheholdingplatesandtheaxleshouldbeapprox.700mm.Drilltwoholes(Ø12.5mm),275mmapart,inthetwopartsoftheframe.Theholesmustbedrilledinthemiddleofthestay(neutralzone).Securethetwoholdingplates(fig.4/24)withtwohexagonheadscrewsM12x25(fig.4/25)andselflockinghexagonnutsM12(fig.4/26).Insertthelockingscrew(fig.4/9)fromtheinsideoutthroughtheprepunchedhole(Ø13)intherightholdingplate.TightenthehexagonnutsM12(fig.4/18).

important note: Ifthisisaddedwithtwoadditionalholdingplates,theownerofthevehiclemust(re)submitthevehicleforanMOTinspection,submittingacertificateconfirmingthatthevehiclemeetsregulations(inaccordancewith§19oftheMotorVehicleSafetyOrdinance(StVZO).
