After School Hours Nursing NoticeNursing services are not provided during after school academic help or Saturday school sessions. Alsoplease note: Nursing services are not provided for after school sports, music and hobby club activities.

8th Grade Football Boys' Weightlifting8th Grade football boys' weightlifting will be begin on Tuesday, December 3rd with Coach Webb at EastHigh School. These sessions are for those intending to play football next year at East High and willtake place on Tuesday and Thursdays up until the start of the high school track season in February. After school, there will be a shuttle (bus 54 or 11) from EMS that will deliver the football boys to EastHigh School. Parents can pick up their student from East High School or students can take a shuttlebus at 4:15 back to EMS, where they will be bused to their local feeder elementary schools. Once it starts snowing, we ask that a fresh pair of shoes be worn in the weight room to limit wearingwet shoes from the snow tracking in the weight room. Hy-Vee $chool Buck$ ProgramShop your local Hy-Vee and turn in the receipts to school. East Middle will receive $1.00 for every $100in receipts. All receipts must be from the Sioux City or South Sioux City Hy-Vee stores or the Hy-VeeMainstreet store. Receipts must be dated August 1, 2019-April 26, 2020. No fuel, postal, money order,Western Union, lottery, Quest, MidAmerican or gift card receipts will be accepted.

Parent Activities Council Meeting Notice

School Nurse Notes

The library is still accepting Box Tops to help pay �nes. There is a new way of collecting them! Load theapp on your phone (ios or android), select EMS as the school and scan your grocery receipt. It is thateasy to help our school. Thank you in advance for all of your help and supporting EMS.

Our next PAC (Parent Activities Council) meeting will be Tuesday, December 10th at 6:00pm in the EastMiddle School cafeteria. Thanks for your support to make our school even better!

Dear 6th Grade Parents,The Iowa Department of Public Health and the Iowa Immunization Law require that all studentsentering 7th grade have both a Meningococcal vaccine and a Tdap (Tetunus, Diphtheria, andPertussis/whooping cough) booster before school starts this fall.The Tdap requirement has been put in place since the 2013/14 school year and requires the boosterdose of Tetunus, Diphtheria and acellular Pertussis containing vaccine for students entering 7th grade,regardless of the interval since the last Tetunus/Diphtheria containing vaccine. Pertussis (whoopingcough) is a very contagious disease that causes violent coughing �ts that make it hard to breathe.

December Lunch Menu

Meningococcal disease is a life threatening illness that is caused by bacteria that infects the brain,blood and spinal cord. It easily spreads in crowded settings. The vaccine will be required prior to boththe 7th and 12th grades.All students entering 7th grade must have proof of having both the Meningococcal and the Tdapvaccines before school starts in August, unless the student has a Certi�cate of ImmunizationExemption.You may get these shots at your doctor or possibly at the Siouxland District Health Department. Theirphone number is 712-279-6119.There will be NO grace/extension period for the implementation of this requirement. 6th gradecomplete this requirement now and turn record into school.
