    1/1

Hi and welcome the NTS, our summary of the most important and interesting new from

    this week

The President of Spain, Z, has presented his plan to cut the national debt in order to avoid

the Greek situation. The Bank of Spain, President Obama and the IMF have applauded

the government for following the bestpath. But its the Spanish town thats going tosuffer the consequences of the cuts. Although he has assured them that the raising orintroduction of new taxes is not on the table at the moment the fact that the unions are

contemplating a series of strikes indicates the gravity of the situation. In the long term

these cuts will be crucial, but in the short term there will be lot of misery for Spanishpockets. As a result Z has asked for a national and collective effort.

Also among the most outstanding news in Europe this week has been the result of the

    British elections

For the first time in seventy years the UK will have a coalition government. The

conservative leader, DC, will be the new PM and NC, from the Liberal Democrat Party, will be his deputy. Both C and See, who coincidentally has a Spanish wife and also

speaks Spanish, admit that they are facing grave challenges but they are prepared to

overcome their disagreements in order to protect the wellbeing of the country.

Now lets have a look at Spanish sport. RB have just won their second basketball

European Cup. And Atletico Madrid have just won the Europa League after a tense game

against Fulham from England. These two victories have resulted in a 1-1 tie between thetwo principal Spanish cities, Madrid and Barcelon, great rivals in the sporting world. But

this Sunday will decide who has won the sporting battle between these two cities this

year. With only one point separating Barca and RM, Barca only need one more victory to

win the league and leave los merengues without a trophy for another year.

Now lets cross the Atlantic in order to reflect a moment on a significant story croming

from Mexico and the U. S.

The theme of immigration continues to be controversial in the U. S. More than 500

Mexicans are repatriated every day from the U. S. to the Mexican frontier Thanks to whatis already known as the Arizona law this number will be 50% higher when it begins in

earnest in July. The law obliges the local authorities to detain any person in order to

verify their identity documents if there exists a reasonable doubt that they could be an

illegal immigrant. Despite the criticism of President Obama and of constitutional experts,
