You will have a designated amount of time to read the text. After reading the selection

you will have 1 minute to start answering the questions; For each question select the

best response according to the selection. You have 5 minutes to answer the questions.

Selection 1: Introducción: Los QuehaceresLos niños responsables

Los niños son responsables de cuidar sus juguetes. Después de jugar, los

niños tienen que organizar los juguetes. Ayudan en la casa con los quehaceres.

Los niños ponen la ropa en el armario. En la habitación los niños tienen

un lugar para poner la ropa sucia. Desde pequeños ellos aprenden a organizar

su ropa y su habitación.

También los niños organizan los artículos escolares en la mochila antes

de ir a la escuela. Los niños guardan en la mochila los lápices, los cuadernos,

los libros, los borradores, los marcadores y todo lo necesario para la escuela.

Después de comer, limpian la mesa, llevan el plato y los cubiertos a la

cocina. Algunos niños lavan los platos, los secan y luego los guardan.

Los niños que cumplen con su responsabilidad en la casa y ayudan a sus

padres en la casa, también cumplen con las responsabilidades de la escuela. Si

desde la casa los niños aprenden a ver las cosas que ellos hacen como su

propia responsabilidad, también cumplen con las responsabilidades fuera de la

casa.

Los niños aprenden a hacer su cama, guardar su ropa, recoger los

juguetes en su habitación, guardar los juguetes que usan, sacar el polvo, lavar

cumpleaños. Organizan diferentes actividades para todas las edades. La tía

Sofía trae el pastel, el tío Felipe trae las decoraciones, Elena, la prima, trae los

globos y la piñata. El papá trae la música y la abuela Lucia cocina la comida

favorita del abuelo. Todo está listo para la fiesta del abuelo. El abuelo Tomás

baila con mi abuela. Rosaura y José también bailan y cantan. Al abuelo le

encanta bailar. Luego, José toca la guitarra. Él toca música de un compositor

famoso que se llama Segovia.

A Pepe, no le gusta ni bailar ni escuchar música. A él tampoco le gusta tocar la

guitarra. A Pepe le encanta comer. Pepe come pastel, pollo, espagueti,

ensalada, arroz y frijoles. Después de comer mucho, le duele el estómago. La

familia está preocupada y llama al doctor Sánchez. El doctor Sánchez

recomienda llevar a Pepe al hospital. El doctor examina a Pepe y le receta una

medicina. Pepe tiene que beber agua y jugos por dos días. También debe

dormir mucho. ¡Ay caramba! Pepe aprende una gran lección.
