Sixty-six degree offerings and top-notched facilities earn UV a reputation as a leading university. The school facilities are spread across three campuses -- Burjassot Campus (science and engineering), Blasco Ibañez Campus (arts and humanities) and Tarongers Campus (business and social sciences). The latter two campuses are a short bus ride apart and close to lively downtown via Valencia’s convenient public transportation.

This is a one-for-one student exchange program, which means you pay your regular tuition and fees to UNCW. You pay for your accommodations directly in Valencia. You will have additional costs for international airfare, passport, visa, health insurance, local transportation and meals.

Program CostFederal and state financial aid may be applied toward this program. Even if you are normally ineligible for financial aid, you should submit a financial aid application (FAFSA). You may find that you are eligible for additional funding.

UNCW students may also apply for a UNCW Education Abroad Grant and additional study abroad scholarships. Grant applications and additional information are available at: www.uncw.edu/international/abroad/aid.html

Financial Aid & Scholarships

Located on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, Valencia is a hotspot of cultural entertainment and seaside activities. Valencia is a warm, lively city and a favorite destination for UNCW business majors and language learners. Valencia offers a nice mix of historic charm and modern amenities. One can get to Barcelona up the coast or inland to Madrid by train in a matter of hours.

Housing

Student life is an important part of the experience at UV, and is supported by the university established Student Guidance and Support Centre (SEDI). SEDI grants students access to legal aid, computer rooms, volunteer opportunities and more. For recreational activities, UV’s Physical Education and Sports Services presents students with a multitude of extracurricular activities to join in, including aerobics, contemporary dance, tai chi, canoing, and intramural sports. A walking tour of the city reveals a stunning assortment of baroque, gothic, classical and space age architecture that is home to museums, night clubs, private residences, retail stores and more. The city of Valencia also serves as a host to a number of festivals throughout the year. Valencia is also on the Mediterranean sea, so don’t forget the beaches!

Student Life

Finances

While program participants must secure their own housing, UV provides a resource guide and access to a database of off-campus options. Typically UNCW students will live in apartments near campus or apply to be housed in one of the residence halls near UV. Common areas in the residence halls may include arcades, canteens, computer rooms, gyms, libraries and music rehearsal spaces. They provide an easy way to meet both Spanish and other international students.
