Finding the right concept is Key!

This is why finding and researching many different concepts is a vital part of working towards creating your own concept.

Especially early on in the development process asthere is already a huge amount of selection out there and whose to saythat I wont be adding my own.

From boldly going where no man has gone before, I have always had a fondnessfor Star Trek and I love how the designs of the ships were really way out there back when it started but have now become an almost definition for the genre.

They really encompass the feeling ofspeed almost ‘sleek n sexy’.

And what’s not to love about the colour scheme, the old red and blue for the United federation of planets.

The way it was incorporated into there version of a military/united peace front,The uniform feel they created for all thedifferent style ships and space stationswhile still maintaining uniformity throughthe use of red/blue to highlight key components of each ship whether it be there engines, docking bays, weapons or tractor beams.

I also feel I’d be doing an injustice to you and myself if I didn’t make a mention of Serenityfrom firefly, although it has more of a ‘country n western’ feel to it.

It always reminds of that Ancient cartoon Brave Star.The whole idea of cowboysin space is awesome.

Of course there are many other designs/styles outthere, you need only look towards video games to find an endless supply which continues to grow! As well as

anime and sci-fi, but is sci-fi becoming less fiction..........

But for me personally,the ship that I am aimingtowards will have to have heart!To stand for something?! I’m just not entirely sure yet what that is?????????????

Whilst not exactly a spaceship I like the idea of opensmaller crafts which require the pilot to wear a space suit. It’s almost like the motor bike of

space crafts and instils a sense of speed

I don’t know what this ship is from but I do like the smooth surfaces, there are no jagged edges to it and I like the use of the Lights. However upon staring at it, the cock pit has started to remind me of Gizmo duck from Duck tales and now that’s all I see

Both these ships have avery anime feel to themwhich is something I reallylike about them althoughclearly very different styles.

The top one use its colours like racing stripes and it clearly looks like a craftdesigned for racing? Maybe even not in space?

The lower one seems to beglowing from key structuralpoints, this for me, gives the feeling that it is emanating power almost ready for battle or to jump to lightSpeed maybe?? Either wayI really like the use of colourIn this way.
