District Leadership Conference
workshops including SMART
Goals, Communication, Build-
ing Leaders, FFA Foundation,
and Words of Wisdom each
led by a state and district offi-
cer. The chapter leaders
watched motivating video
clips, created individual goals,
learned how to raise money
for the Iowa FFA Foundation,
shared public relation ideas
from their chapters, and iden-
tified the qualities of leader-
ship which an FFA member
should possess.
Chapters created
SMART Goals for the upcom-
ing year. Each chapter kept a
copy of their goals for them-
selves and gave one to the
district officer team. The
district officer team will be
emailing each individual mem-
ber in October to check on
the progress of their goals.
Chapter leaders
from all across the South-
west FFA District gathered

wood, Glidden, Griswold,

ference beginning at 9:00

reporter books from previ-
ous years. FFA facts were
posted on the walls
throughout the school.
Members who found all the
facts and completed the
worksheet had their name
in a drawing for a chance to
win a prize.

State Leadership Conference for
District Officers was held at the
FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny
on Sept. 27-28.
The theme of the two-day confer-

State officers presented five

with team building and re-
flections where district
officers read the letter they
wrote to themselves during
the spring SLCDO.
On the second day, the district
officers learned the Greenhand-Fire
-up curriculum to present at the fall
conferences around the state.
