KID’S CLUBWe will be planning and

leading a Kid’s Club in Lexington Village August 8-10.

One of the highlights of last year’s summer camp was the opportunity to work with the neighborhood kids. We played games, ate snacks, taught Bible stories, and had a great time doing it.

This year we have the opportunity to lead a Kid’s Club in our own backyard. Lexington Village is a small community in Groveland that needs to see and hear the love of Jesus Christ. You could make a huge difference in the life of a child

this summer by introducing them to Jesus.

If you would like to be on the team, let us know by July 1st. There will be several mandatory preparatory training meetings leading up to the August date.

Training Days:

July 8

July 29

August 5

Training times will run from 4:00-5:30pm with a pizza dinner provided.

KID’S CLUB

Looking For YouWe are looking for students who would like to invest in the lives of some local children.

We will be providing a time of games, snack, music, and a bible story for children in the Lexington Village neighborhood.

Opinions...everyone has one

Parenting theories have come and gone throughout the centuries. Some philosophies have been good and others, well...not so much. J.B. Watson (scientist from the 1920’s) wrote: “Never hug or kiss them. Never let them sit on your lap. If you must, kiss them once on the forehead when they say goodnight. Shake hands with them in the morning. Give them a pat on the head if they have made an extraordinary good job of a difficult task...”Constant Through Ages

Although theories change, there is one thing that remains constant - Scripture. God has constantly reminded us that he wants to be at the center of our families. For those who are

believers, it is imperative that we spend time talking to our children about the good things of God. Dt 6.7 says, “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”Some Thoughts

1. Take some time this summer and tell your student(s) the story of how you came to faith in Christ.2. Reflect with your

student(s) how God has led your family through good and bad times.

The words found in Deuteronomy encourage us to make “faith” talk an everyday thing in our homes. Look for ways to connect your relationship with Christ to the rest of your family. If we, as parents, don’t share these stories with our children, then who will? You are the best person available to lead your child.

Theories come and go, but the best of the best is our priority to share the good things of God with our children.

PARENTS ONLYThe greatest parenting advice in the history of the world, period.
