2015 Catalog of Specialty Daffodils

This is year six for us offering specialty daffodils and we have many first time introductions from

American breeders including Daniel Bellinger and Mary Lou Gripsolver both from Ohio who

gave us stock to increase and we can now offer bulbs on a very limited basis. Ted Snazelle of

Mississippi also has some new introductions which are offered here for the first time. Clay

Higgins of North Carolina has some new standards as well as minis listed. Bob Spotts of

California once again is letting us sell his unique green ‘Mesa Verde’ and the wonderful mini

‘Otaki Pearl’.

We have a page full of offerings from New Zealand-our Kiwi Corner. Our love for that country is

great and we think they are some of the top hybridizers in the whole world. These are bulbs we

have turned around so no worries-they are on our hemispheric time now.

And with Mitch being the current Intermediate’s Chairman for the ADS you can spot our other

passion. There was a time when these little beauties were thrown away as being “failed”

miniatures. This is no longer the case with many a show Purple Ribbon going to the

Intermediate collection of five and being entered alongside their big brothers in the Quinn. We

have made a separate listing at the end of the regular listings so you can easily pick them out.

From Daniel Bellinger we have ‘Stannard Rock’ 2Y-O registered in 2010.

It is truly sunproof and is very smooth and great form on strong stems. We

were very inpressed with this flower and think Daniel is an up and coming

hybridizer here in the US. We are offering this on a first come basis as we

only have a very limited number to sell. There is a limit of one per

customer. Stannard Rock Cost:$40.00

Martha Kermizis registered in 2007 by Daniel is named for his high

school biology teacher. A sun proof flower, 2Y-O which is smooth and

very good form. Very Limited. Cost: $35.00

Seney by Daniel is another 2Y-O registered in 2010. We also have a

very limited number to sell. It is truly a beautiful of strong substance.

Cost: $40.00

Huron Island registered in 2010 at 80 mm it is an Intermediate by Daniel. We

have a very limited amount to sell. A 2Y-0 which is of good form and

substance.

From Dr. Ted Snazelle:

Tasmanian Child registered in 2008 is an Intermediate measuring 50mm. An

early to mid season flower which is smooth and of good form.

Cost:$20.00

Hampstead Academy an early to mid season 2Y-YYO standard flower from

Ted Snazelle.

Pick early or protect from burning as it is not sun proof. But it has wonderful

color and a smooth perianth.

From Mary Lou Gripsolver:

Hope Taft 7W-O registered in 2006 and named for the former First Lady of

Ohio whose gardens at the governor’s mansion we got to see during the tour

at the 2013 National Convention in Columbus Ohio. We have a limited

amount to offer. Cost:$ 30.00

Final Curtain a 3W-GYY very late blooming Intermediate. It is always the last flower

to bloom in Mary Lou’s garden-thus her name for it.

From Clay Higgins:

Nikki Koko an Intermediate registered in 2014 at 78 mm. A 2W-GYP which

blooms early to Mid Season for Clay.

Grandpa W.A. measuring 80 mm a 2W-Y registered by Clay in 2013.

From Bob Spotts:

Mesa Verde which won the Pannill

Award in 2015. Not new to our list

but still the most unique! A 12G-GGY

and it really comes out GREEN! It has

many uses on the show bench but it

also has a very long bloom time

making it great for a long season in

the garden too.

Cost: $35.00

Otaki Pearl bulbs are from Bob Spotts but this flower was

registered by Kirby Fong in 2008 for New Zealand’s Bruce Irwin.

It is a miniature 8W-W. It blooms Mid Season for us and

is one of my favorites! Cost:$45.00
