Happy New Year!January 1, 2014

Dear South Jordan Residents,

Happy New Year - 2014 is going to be an exciting year! We look forward to delivering a vast array of fun and exciting programs and events throughout the year. The South Jordan Leisure Guide is only one source of information for these programs and events. We invite you and others to follow us on Twitter, Facebook at South Jordan Community Services, check out the South Jordan website (www.sjc.utah.gov), the FOCUS in the South Valley Journal, South Jordan City App, and Recreation E-newsletters.

South Jordan City builds community around three basic pillars - Conservation, Health and Wellness and Social Equity. Conservation programs encourage people to get outside and enjoy nature with hands-on experiences. We encourage you to explore the outdoors along the Jordan River Parkway Trail, Bingham Creek Trail or in the many neighborhood parks. South Jordan City offers a variety of Health and Wellness programs for anyone to improve their personal health and wellness. Many of these programs are located in the South Jordan Fitness and Aquatic Center - stop in, visit and try it out. Seniors can get involved with activities at the Community Center/Senior Center. Others can go to Mulligan’s for a round of miniature golf, practice hitting balls in a batting cage, play golf, take a lesson or participate in a league. Anyone can attend City events, many of which encourage wellness and/or healthy lifestyles - visit Country Fest, attend a movie in the park or check out the Farmer’s Market on Towne Center Drive. The Gale Center of History and Culture also offers a wide variety of exhibits demonstrating our community’s wonderful history.

Social Equity is the third basic pillar. South Jordan offers a variety of recreation and leisure activities for every resident - young and old. Watch for opportunities that match your interests, whether they’re at the Fitness & Aquatic Center, City parks and trails, the Gale Center, Towne Center Plaza, Mulligan’s or the Community/Senior Center.

Again, we look forward to a new year - 2014! Keep your eyes and ears open to what’s happening in our great community, hope to see you and your neighbors around.
