A SENATE RESOLUTION TO HONOR AND CONGRATULATE KATHERINE POSTON, ADMINISTRATOR OF THE MARION COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION OFFICE, UPON HER RETIREMENT, AND TO WISH HER HER MUCH HAPPINESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS. Whereas, the members of the Senate have learned that Katherine Poston, Administrator of the Marion County Legislative Delegation Office since 2003, will retire on April 15, 2011; and Whereas, she was previously employed as a teacher’s aide in Marion School District One from November 1977 to November 1988 and as an aide in the Marion High School Guidance Office from November 1988 to October 1998; and Whereas, Mrs. Poston was employed as a Medicaid secretary with the Department of Social Services from October 1998 to November 2000, at which time she retired; and Whereas, persuaded out of retirement, she returned to the workforce in 2003 to work for the Marion County Legislative Delegation Office; and Whereas, over the years Mrs. Poston has provided constituent services to countless residents of Marion County, always providing personal attention to the individuals who came to the delegation office requiring guidance and assistance; and Whereas, Katherine’s compassion, friendly disposition, and knowledge of the local community has been invaluable to her community; and [762] 1 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42

A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND CONGRATULATE KATHERINE POSTON, ADMINISTRATOR OF THE MARION COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION OFFICE, UPON HER RETIREMENT, AND TO WISH HER HER MUCH HAPPINESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Katherine was born on October 26, 1940, and she is married to Mr. Tim Poston, Sr. and together they have one son, Tim Poston, Jr., and two grandchildren; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper for the members of the Senate to pause in their deliberations to express their sincere appreciation to Katherine Poston for her dedicated service and the standard of excellence she has brought to our beloved State for thirty-four years. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, honor and congratulate Katherine Poston, Administrator of the Marion County Legislative Delegation Office, upon her retirement, and to wish her much happiness in all her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Katherine Poston.
