› the strength and vitality required for sustained physical or mental activity.

› Sources are mainly classified into conventional and non-conventional

What is energy ? How do we get it !!

Solar EnergyPetroleumSource :• Found in the earths

curst, generally concentrated to specific geographical sites.

• Non-renewable• Depends on combustion

to be used as a source.

Source :• E.M.R(Electromagnet

Radiation) from the sun.• Renewable source of

energy.• Photons carry energy

that can be directly be exposed to solar cells and converted to electrical energy.

BBl – Barrels, standard for crude oil and petroleum products

• India gets most of its daily driver as a result of petroleum products and oil refineries.

• World’s most famous source of energy

• Highly concentrated in the hands of wealthy Saudi Countries.

• Highly accessible and available worldwide.

• Most efficient for places near the equator and which have a dry season for most of the year

› Solar cells produce electricity from sunlight, using a high quality silicon based solar cell.

› Used in manufacturing plants ex: Apple Cupertino solar farm

› Used in electric vehicles

USES OF THESE SOURCES

› Petroleum once refined, gives us products that have wide variety of uses.

› Petrol – Used in carsLubrication oil – mech. PartsGasoline – General purposes like burning .

› Production of electricity

Page 5: Sources of Energy

› Petroleum Or Oil Has High Density.

› Liquid From For Easy Transportation.

› Liquid From For Easy Transportation.

Advantage and Disadvantages

› Environmental Pollution

› Resources Are Limited

› Non Renewable Form Of Energy

Advantages

Dis-Advantages› High initial investment.

› Electricity generation depends entirely on a countries exposure to sunlight

› Solar power stations do not match the power output of similar sized conventional power station

› Solar energy is a clean.

› Once a solar panel is installed, solar energy can be produced free of charge.

› Very little maintenance is needed to keep solar cells running.

› Currently we use petroleum as a primary means to get our work done due to its superiority over other sources in terms of density, availability and extraction ease, but however it’s a limited source hence we will eventually run out.

› Alternate sources of energy are the only hope for a sustainable existence. Non- Conventional sources such as solar, as discussed are still in infancy of development.

› More Research has to be done in these clean, renewable non- conventional sources so that we can create clean energy more efficiently and use of fossil fuels must be reduced using efficient machines.

› Maximum effort must be made in order to improve the current machinery to use as less fossil fuels as possible and more capital must be invested in improving the efficiency of non-conventional, hopefully we will be using non-conventional as primary sources in coming years.

Conclusion
