Sources in
APPLIED LINGUISTICS AND TESL This guide lists a selection of the more important sources of information on Applied Linguistics and TESL available in the Concordia Libraries Collections. The right hand column lists the Library locations for these materials. The list includes material held in the Webster Library (WEB) on the Sir George Williams Downtown Campus, in the Vanier Library (VAN) on the Loyola Campus and/or available Online. Most of these materials are located in the Reference area (REF) of the Webster Library. This is not a complete list. Additional resources may be found by searching CLUES, the library catalogue. Databases For Locating Articles, etc. Databases are used to find references to articles published in journals and to find other types of documents (book chapters, conference papers, theses, etc.). All of the databases listed below are accessible via the Concordia Libraries Database Finder page: http://library.concordia.ca/research/databases/ Linguistics and Language Behaviour Abstracts (LLBA) The major database for Applied Linguistics and TESL, LLBA covers all aspects of the study of language including second language teaching and learning, phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics.

ERIC The major database for Education; coverage includes Applied Linguistics and TESL. Communication and Mass Media Complete Coverage of all areas related to Communication, including Applied Linguistics and TESL; indexes over 600 journals, with fulltext to over 240 journals CBCA Education Focuses on Canadian information; coverage of over 150 journals, including 30 fulltext. EdITLib Digital Library for Information Technology and Education Provides fulltext coverage of internationally published journal articles and conference papers related to all aspects of educational technology and e-learning. ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Full Text Search over one million North American doctoral dissertations and masters theses; the majority of theses and dissertations from 1997 onward are available fulltext. Web of Science Features citation searching (cited author/cited work, etc.) of thousands of journals covered in Social Sciences Citation Index and Arts & Humanities Citation Index.
Curriculum Collection and ESL Teaching Resources Webster Library ESL curriculum resources, including grammar and pronunciation activities, sample exercises, educational games, audio-visual materials, etc., are all part of the Curriculum Collection in Webster Library's Periodical & Media Services Centre (3
rd floor). The CLUES catalogue is a good starting point for familiarizing yourself with this
collection of language teaching materials. Here is just one example of a CLUES search used to locate this type of material: Keywords english AND grammar AND activities. To locate other types of ESL teaching guides, search CLUES using the following subject headings:
