The trip concludes with a three-games series against the defending World Champions in Chicago (April 10, 12-13) next week at Wrigley Field. The Dodgers went 11-8 against the Padres last season and have not lost the season series to San Diego since going 8- 10 in 2010. Since the start of the 2011 campaign, Los Angeles is 73-41 (.640) against the Padres, including a 38- 20 (.655) mark at Dodger Stadium. PROGRAMMING NOTE: The Dodgers-Padres game this evening will be simulcast on KTLA, channel 5. An agreement was reached last month between Spectrum, the home of all Dodger broadcasts, and KTLA, to simulcast 10 games during the first 5 weeks of the season. The first of those games is tonight and the next one is on Sunday afternoon vs. the Rockies at Coors Field. In addition, KTLA5 will also air SportsNet LA’s flagship pregame show, Access SportsNet: Dodgers, tonight vs. the Padres, April 18 (vs. Rockies), May 3 (vs. Giants) and May 7 (at Padres). Finally, KTLA5 will air the live pregame ‘Vin Scully Ring of Honor Ceremony’ in its entirety on Wednesday, May 3 starting at 6 p.m. PT. GET RICH: Dodger left-hander Rich Hill makes his 2017 debut tonight in his first full season in Dodger Blue. Hill, who signed a three-year contract in December, was acquired by Los Angeles at the Aug. 1 trade deadline last year along with Josh Reddick in exchange for minor league pitchers Jharel Cotton, Grant Holmes and Frankie Montas. Hill proceeded to go 3-2 with a 1.83 ERA (7 ER/34.1 IP) in six regular season starts for the Dodgers and also went 1-1 with a 3.46 ERA in three postseason starts, including 6.0 scoreless innings against the Cubs in Game 3 of the NLCS. Hill is entering his 13 th big league season and made 20 combined starts with Oakland and L.A. in 2016, going 12- 5 with a 2.12 ERA and ranked among the Majors’ best (min. 100.0 IP) in ERA (2nd, 1.69), opponents’ batting average (.195, 3rd) and WHIP (1.00, 5th). GETTING THE KINKS OUT: The Dodgers look to erase the memory of last night’s shutout quickly when they face off against San Diego right-hander Trevor Cahill tonight, who has appeared in 20 games vs. Los Angeles (14 starts, none since 2014). Several Dodgers have enjoyed success against Cahill, notably Adrián González, who is hitting .400 (12-for-30) with three homers and 10 RBI and Yasmani Grandal (4-for-10). Shortstop Corey Seager hit a three-run homer and walked off Cahill the only two times he’s faced the right-hander.
