SVAN 979 optional functions:
Loudness is a measure of sound that corresponds to the subjective perception of humans, by taking into account the sensitivity of human hearing for different frequencies (Zwicker method according to ISO 532B standard).
In many cases, loudness has been proven to be more reliable than A-weighted levels (and time history) in quantifying relatively low-level broadband sounds in agreement with subjective impression.
Another common sound quality analysis of noise measured in relation to human hearing is tonality. Tonality determines annoying tones considered as a negative attribute of sound. It determines the annoying tones in measured signal and calculates penalty value in dB which should be added to the noise level to indicate its annoyance.

Wifi/LAN remote communication
Radio communication network with ZigBee®
ZigBee®it's a communication type that is more efficient than GSM or WiFi in case of multiple measurement points. Network of instruments work together using radio transmission allowing simultaneous data download in real-time. System can work on a large ground areas thanks to a 'daisy chain' architecture using measurement points with ZigBee® modems as communication nodes. This solution allows to cover area with 50 noise monitoring terminals with maximum distance of 500 m from each other. All units communicate simultaneously with one central computer.System doesn’t use Internet connection which means that there is no network provider's fee.

Reverberation time & sound insulation measurement
The time taken for the sound pressure level to decay by 60 dB in the room, is called the reverberation time (RT). The values of RT may range from fractions of a second to a few seconds and depend upon the size of the room and the nature of the materials used in its construction.
Tonal analysis of noise measured in relation to human hearing. It determines the annoying tones in measured signal and calculates penalty value in dB which should be added to the noise level to indicate its annoyance.

GPS positioning and time synchronization
Noise monitoring in the environment requires reporting of GPS coordinates. For this reason SVAN979 instrument was designed to cooperate with external GPS module.Additional advantage of using such module is time synchronization with GPS, which enables multi-point measurements without distance limitation. This solution is especially valuable in measurements of noise generated by airplanes and trains as well as wind farms.
Noise monitoring in the environment requires reporting of meteo conditions. For this reason SVAN instrument was designed to record meteo data coming from the external meteo station. Data such as wind speed, temperature, humidity and ambient pressure are automatically added to main result and logger files. Weather data recording is available only with SVANTEK monitoring stations.
Weather data recording
Used whenever measuring noise or vibration of machines with rotating elements. Information about revolutions per minute is calculated and added to data files basing on impulses generated by external tachometer. Function works simultaneously to other functions such as level meter or frequency analysis.
