Sound of music Isabella Sheikowitz 6-2 The “Sound of Music”came to Saint Joseph Hill Academy. The show was performed three nights and one afternoon musical. It ran from November 9 through the 12th. The high school performed the show along with three of the elementary school students. The role of Kirt was performed by Matthew Mistretta, the role of Marta was performed by Alexa Viggiano and the role of Greta was performed by Gianna Civitano. The cast rehearsed for 6 weeks including long nights and weekends. The musical was beautiful and the songs sounded amazing. The music and performance made you feel like you were in a theater as opposed to the school gym. Many of the scenes were heartwarming especially the last scene when the Von Trap fam- ily had to say goodbye. There were basket raes donated by families and Hershey kisses were given out to fa- vorite cast members. Ornaments and novelties were being sold to support the school and the theater program. Cast members met with their family and friends after their performance to take pictures. Standing ovations were given for the incredible performances and were well de- served. It was nice to see both schools coming together to put on a beautiful musical from a classic movie.
