    GENERAL What is Sound ?

    Sound is defined as a disturbance in an elastic medium that can be detected by the human ear. The medium can be gas, liquid or solid. Noise is undesirable sound or sound without value. The pressure waves (or sound) act on the inner ear, which is what we hear. The best sound is not necessarily no sound. In an open office concept, background sound offers privacy for conversations. Sound attenuator plays an important role in attenuating the sound from the HVAC fans and generator rooms. Sound attenuator are used in both Supply and exhaust side within in the line of ventillation ducts, and in generator rooms.

    OVERVIEW OF SHARQAWI SILENCERS:

    Sharqawi factory produces silencers, as per the design from lindab, which has been tested as per ISO 7235 @ acoustic laboratory, Lindab competence center, Farum, Denmark.Sharqawi Produces, Rectangular, Round and bended type silencers based on the customer requirement.

    Sharqawi Factory uses every data to analyze and technically select sizes with respect to customers required NC or Db considering the minimum pressure drop, using Lindab provided software, Dim silencer which has been developed by Lindab.

    METHOD OF MEASUREMENTSharqawi silencers have been tested in accordance with ISO 7235 ”Acoustics - Measurement procedures for ducted silencers - Insertion loss, flow noise and total pressure loss”at Lindab Acoustic Laboratory, Lindab competence center, Farum, Denmark.

    DESIGN:Sound attenuator comprises

    1. Casing. 2. Baffles.

    Casing :

    Sound Attenuator has an outer casing or duct, where in the duct connections and thickness will be followed as per SMACNA standard.

    Baffle :

    The Duct inner has baffles for Rectangular Silencer with baffle width of 200mm or 100mm, which are produced using a strong structure of Sheet metal, with perforated sheets, infilled with fine acoustically fit Rockwool of desired density. The perforation gives a fine passage of airflow with minimal pressure drop, and also protects the strong hold of the wool.The round Silencers are with an inside Offset layer from Outer casing of of 100mm and 200mm thick layer, infilled with Rockwool based on requirement and model.

    CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS:All the Fittings and ducts in the standard range are made from hot dip galvanized steel sheet with a yield point in tension of 200 N/mm2, and the zinc coating shall at least comply with Z 275, and for stainless steel, depends on the grade requirements of customer.

    Customized Sheet metal thicknesses:

    If higher thcikness is requested from customer, we can produce the sound attenuator in higher gauges as per customer requirement.

    Casing Incase of GI, Cold Rolled Hot Dip Galvanized Steel G90 comply to Z275, of Min Ga-22. For Stainless Steel, the grade will be as per requirement.

    FlangeIN/Out connection

    Duct Mate flange 35mm, for widths less than 1000mm, Angle Bar 50x50x5 mmfor over 1000mm, or as customer requires. The fixation will be Revitting or welding.

    Acoustic fill Techno Rockwool / Saudi Rockwool, Min 40Kg/m3.

    Cell Protection/Insulation Protecion

    Incase of GI, Cold Rolled Hot Dip Galvanized Steel G90 comply to Z275, of Min Ga-24. For Stainless Steel, the grade will be as per requirement.

    Casing Seam Lock Formed or Welded as per Smacna, depending on size and thciknesses. All corners, will be caluked with sealant.

    TUNE has a conventional design with dimensions that not exceed thecorresponding connection dimensions. The silencer can be manufacturedin all standard duct sizes. Design Has an outer sheet casing of trapezoidalcorrugated sheet metal for stability and reduced risk of natural oscillation.Is designed for low air resistance with baffle combinations that attenuateparticularly low-frequency noise well. The type of insulation material hasbeen developed to provide good noise properties, low weight and to becleanable. Meets the requirements of air tightness class C and pressureclass 2 according to EN 1507:2006. Is equipped with joining profile typeRJFP. Tools for dimensioning and planning To calculate the silencer, youcan use our IT-program DIMsilencer, where baffle distance, width andheight can be optimized for the best performance.

    SOFTWARE FOR CALCULATING NOICE IN VENTILLATION SYSTEM, WHICH SUGGESTS MODELS AND SIZES BASED ON THE INPUTS:Sharqawi Factory uses a very sophesticated Software DIM Sielncer, developed by Lindab, for sound attenuator selection .

    In order to make the calculation and selection of sound attenuator for fans, the following are required.

    1 Fan(AHU,PAC) sound data @ octave band frequencies (I.e.SPL@ 63 Hz, 125 Hz, 250 Hz up to 8 KHz),

    2 HVAC Shop Drawings clearly identifying duct sizes, air outlet sizes and airflow across each air outlet.

    3 Required NC, Db or insertion loss.4 Maximum allowed pressure drop.5 Maximum face velocity accepted.

    Using all the above Data, Our trained Engineers on the Software, will make the calculation and selection of sound attenuator.

    To select Sound attenuator for generator rooms, the requirements are different.

  • DescriptionTUNE has a conventional design with dimensions that not exceed the corresponding connection dimensions. The silencer can be manufactured in all standard duct sizes.

    Design

    Rectangular straight silencer from the TUNE series. TUNE-S is built with the splitter TUNE-A. The silencer is manufactured with the frame of galvanized sheet and stone wool absorption material.

    The TUNE-S is availabe with splitter width 100 and 200 mm. Silencer is equiped with joining profile RJFP.

    To calculate the silencer, you can use our IT-program lindQST or DIMsilencer, where splitter distance, length and height can be optimized for the best performance.

    Testerd according to ISO 7235 standard.

    Circular straight silencer

    SLU 50

    Order code

    DescriptionSLU 50 is a circular straight silencer with a connection diameter available between 63 - 400 mm. Nominal insulation thickness 50 mm. Attenuation material is mineral wool. The SLU's are made of strong outer spiral seemed tube and an inner tube made of sheet steel with small openings to be able to withstand mechanical cleaning and at the same time not interfere with the insertion loss.

    The space between them is filled with mineral wool and a nonwoven cloth is inserted between inner tube and the attenuation material, to prevent fibers from the insulation getting into the duct system.

    Tested according to ISO 7235 standard.

    DescriptionSLU 50 is a circular straight silencer with a connection diameter available between 63 - 400 mm. Nominal insulation thickness 50 mm. Attenuation material is mineral wool. The SLU's are made of strong outer spiral seemed tube and an inner tube made of sheet steel with small openings to be able to withstand mechanical cleaning and at the same time not interfere with the insertion loss.

    The space between them is filled with mineral wool and a nonwoven cloth is inserted between inner tube and the attenuation material, to prevent fibers from the insulation getting into the duct system.

    Tested according to ISO 7235 standard.
