What is the function of sound in TV dramas? Sound and music - or the absence of it has a

profound impact on film and TV. It is used to enhance drama and to help illustrate the emotional content in the story. It is also used to manipulate the feelings and sentiments of viewers. This is universal. Whether you watch domestic or foreign content, music is used to this effect. Rarely do you see a film or TV program that doesn't employ music and sound.
