Set an intention. Intentions are like turning on a switch that gets the energy flowing and allows you to relax and focus. You can put your hands in Ghassho position (prayer position) and declare "Let Reiki flow through me for the Greatest Good (or state person's name, manking, Mother Earth, etc.). Self Care. Take time to rest and take care of yourself. Honoring your body is honoring your soul. Your body knows what it needs and what your soul needs. Tune into your body and listen to it. Self Healing. If you plan to use Reiki to help other's heal, you must first make a commitment to healing yourself. Please spend the next 30 days practicing on yourself first. You will need to set aside at least 30 minutes to an hour each day. Use a calendar to check off each day you do your self healing session. Before you start, write down how you are feeling (attitude, physical health, goals, habits, health issues, etc.) At the end of the 30 days, review what you have written and note what changes have occured. Cleansing Period. The first 21-30 days after you start practicing Reiki are what is know as your cleansing period. During this time, you may want to stay away from the following as much as possible - red meat, caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol. You should also drink plenty of pure water each day, give your body some extra rest and give yourself Reiki as often as possible. Attunement Scheduling. Please notify me at least 7 days before when you are ready to receive your attunement. Prior to receiving your attunement, it is important to prepare for the attunement to help purify the mind and spirit and to enjoy the experience more fully. It is recommended that meat (including fish), alchohol, and soda not be consumed for three days before the attunement. Also, please refrain from tobacoo, cigarettes and excessive amounts of exercise. The day before the attunement, get a good night's rest and on the day of attunement refrain from television, computers, newspapers, etc. (basically anything that would cause stress). A peaceful walks in nature is recommended. In Reiki you will come across some repeated words and terminology: Attunement - It refers to the adjustments made by the Reiki Master to the students' energy body that causes Reiki energy to flow through them from the Universe to help in healing. Aura - The bio-magnetic energy field around the body. Beaming – The use of Reiki to heal someone that you can see cannot do hands on Reiki for.

Introduction

A few things before we start:

Reiki Will Never Do Any Harm. It is pure, loving and unconditional.

Letting Go of the Outcome.  Reiki is intelligent energy and will go where it is needed.

In Reiki you will come across some repeated words and terminology:

Attunement - It refers to the adjustments made by the Reiki Master to the students' energy body that causes Reiki energy to flow through them from the Universe to help in healing.

Aura - The bio-magnetic energy field around the body.

Beaming – The use of Reiki to heal someone that you can see cannot do hands on Reiki for.

Byosen – When you feel the energy from the cause of an illness or injury.

Crystal Grid - Creating a sacred space or healing by use of an arrangement of charged quartz crystals.

Distant attunements - When the attunement process is done by a Reiki Master student across space and time.

Distant healing – To give Reiki healing across time and space.

Empowerment – It is used by the Reiki Master to put higher frequency Reiki energy into the student for increasing their vibrational frequency.

Gassho – To putting one's hands in prayer position and to hold them in front of your chest.

Hado Kokyu Ho – This is a Japanese technique of vibrational breathing to induce relaxation for improving the immune system function.

Healing crisis - When one is attuned to Reiki or when one has received Reiki, the negative energy goes out of the body and in its place is taken by higher frequency healing energy. This can cause emotional and physical reactions, which may be upsetting initially. They are a product of the healing process and as long as continual healing is given will subside.

Heso Chiryo Ho – A method for healing at the navel; it is useful in healing the kidneys.

Koki ho - Healing through the breath.

Lineage – It is the line of Reiki Masters starting with Mikao Usui eventually leading to the student.

Mantra - A word or phrase frequently repeated to connect to the energy (Kotodama) or increase the flow of Reiki energy into the practitioner so as to raise their frequency.

Rainbow Reiki - A technique implemented to vary the frequency of the energy required to heal to match the frequency of specific physical or emotional conditions, using the Reiki symbols and color.

Reiki Master - One who has learned Reiki up to Master Level but is not qualified to attune or teach.

Reiki Master Teacher (or Reiki Teacher) - Someone who has learned Reiki up to Teacher Level and is qualified to attune and teach Reiki to others.

Reiki Symbols – These are four symbols used in Reiki to link to different frequencies of energy for healing or self development.

Self healing – It is the process of healing oneself by uswing the Reiki energy with certain hand positions.

Shirushi - It is a Japanese word describing the Reiki symbols.

Usui, Mikao - The founder of 'The Usui System of Natural Healing' - or 'Usui-do' which the West knows today as Reiki. According to Usui, Reiki was the 'Secret method of gaining happiness'. He taught more than 2000 students and 16 Masters.

Vortex - A method used by the Reiki practitioner to remove negative energy from the client.

What is Reiki

Back to RBA: Reiki Master Course Discussions

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words -- "Rei" which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and "Ki" which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

Ki is life-force -- that which animates the forms of the world. It is the vibratory nature of phenomena -- the flow and tremoring that is happening continuously at molecular, atomic and sub-atomic levels. In Japan it is called “ki,” and in India, “prana” or “shakti.” The ancient Egyptians referred to it as “ka,” and the ancient Greeks as “pneuma.” For Native Americans it is the “Great Spirit” and for Christians, the “Holy Spirit.” In Africa it’s known as “ashe” and in Hawaii as “ha” or “mana.”

There are three traditional levels of Reiki.

Reiki 1 teaches you how to heal yourself.

Reiki 2 teaches you how to heal other people and enables you to send Reiki to people, situations, and the past.

Reiki 3 is split into two parts. Reiki 3A is for those who wish to add additional healing methods to their skills and Reiki 3B is for those who wish to be able to teach Reiki.

How Does Reiki Work?

Reiki does its healing by flowing through the affected parts of the body's energy fields and charging them with positive energy.  It increases the vibratory level of the energy field throughout and around the human body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached.  This causes the negative energy to be destroyed and to fall away.  In this way, Reiki straightens, clears, and heals the body's energy pathways, therefore letting the life force flow in a healthy and natural way.

We have the life we do because of the life force that is flowing through us. Life force flows within the physical body though pathways known as chakras, meridians and nadis.  It also flows completely around us in an energy field called the

aura.  Our life force gives energy to the organs and cells of the body, promoting their vital functions.  When this flow of energy force is disrupted, it causes poor or dysfunctional functioning in one or more of the tissues and organs of the body.

All healers use life force or Ki, but not everyone uses Reiki. Reiki is a different kind of life force that can only be channeled by someone that has become attuned to it. It is possible that some people are born with Reiki or have achieved it some other way. However, most healers who have not received the Reiki attunement from a Reiki Master are not using Reiki but a similar energy based method.  This is not to say that reiki is better than other energy healing methods.   It is just the most well known and one of the easiest methods to use.   People who already do healing work consistently report an increase of at least fifty percent in the strength of their healing energies after taking the Reiki training.

Because Reiki is guided by the God-consciousness, it can never do any harm. Reiki always knows what a person needs and will adjust itself to create the effect that is appropriate for them. One never needs to worry about whether to give Reiki or not as it is always helpful.

In addition, because the practitioner does not direct the healing and does not decide what to work on, or what to heal, the practitioner is not in danger of taking on the karma of the client. Because the practitioner is not doing the healing, it is also much easier for the ego to stay out of the way and allow the presence of God to shine clearly through.

Studies have been performed looking at the effectiveness of a practitioner’s hands in the healing process.  Dr. John Zimmerman of the University of Colorado Medical School measured not only a difference in the vibrational frequency coming from the non-trained practitioner’s hands, but from the trained practitioners.  Using hertz (Hz) or cycles of energy to measure, he found the hands to emit a range of .3 Hz to 30Hz of energy with the most activity in the 7-8 Hz range (the vibrational frequency found most often in nature in harmony and in the music that research has shown to be the most healing.)  Dr Zimmerman also worked with animals in the lab and found that it took the following Hz of energy to heal the following problems:  5Hz for capillary formation, 10HZ for ligament healing, 7 HZ for bone growth, and 2HZ for nerve regeneration. Later studies in Japan backed up these findings.

What happens specifically during a Reiki session is as follows:  As soon as the hands touch, energy begins to flow through the practitioner (bypassing his/her energy system) and out through the hands.  The recipient then takes up the energy he/she needs to balance the operation of the body, mind, and spirit.  When balance is achieved, the body begins to heal itself in whatever way that means for the individual.  In some cases, there is just a simple easing of the emotions (anger, resentment, sadness) related to the problem.  In others, it is a sense of acceptance of the outcome, and/or a relief from the pain and discomfort associated with the problem.

Western physicists acknowledge that at the deepest level of the natural world we find the quantum field.  Dr. Deepak Chopra talks about the quantum mechanical human body in his book, Perfect Health.  A quantum is defined as the smallest unit of light, electricity, or other energy that can possibly exist.  An atom used to be considered the smallest particle of matter in creation.  Yet, up close, an atom is composed of tinier bits of matter whirling at lightning speed around a huge empty space-so empty that it rivals the void of intergalactic space; the interval between two electrons is proportionately wider than the one separating the earth and the sun.  He states that the quantum mechanical body is the underlying basis for everything we are:  thoughts, emotions, proteins, cells, organs - any visible or invisible part of ourselves. So, if we are made up of energy, it makes sense that we use energy to heal. Throughout his book, he talks about the use of sound, meditation, music, and aromatherapy as vibrational techniques that heal the body.   All of these techniques, including Reiki, affect the flow of energy in the body by balancing and restoring the energy to its natural state.

History

Mikao Usui was born August 15, 1865 in the village of Yago in the Yamagata district of Gifu prefecture, Japan.  He traveled to Europe and China to continue his education as a young adult.  His studies included medicine, psychology, and religion.  Eventually he became the secretary to Pei Gotoushin, head of the department of health and welfare, who later became the Mayor of Tokyo.  The connections Mikao Usui made at this job helped him to become a successful businessman.

Some earlier books on the life of Mikeo Usui claim he was a dean at a Christian university in Japan and set about to discover a new healing method when one of his students challenged him to produce healing miracles like what Jesus did.   This is not true.   Usui was a Buddhist and set about to discover  a new healing method which would be an improvement in Buddhist healing methods which tended to deplete the energy of the healer.

In 1914, Usui's personal and business life was going poorly. As a believer in spiritualism, Usui had previously spent much time meditating at power spots on Mt. Kurama.  He decided to travel to this holy mountain, where he enrolled in Isyu Guo, a twenty-one-day training course.  Little is known about what kind of training he had during this course but it was following his retreat that he became credited with the creation of Reiki in 1922.  This training greatly enhanced his healing abilities and he realized he had received a wonderful new gift - the ability to give healing to others without depleting his own energy!   It was believed that he conceived of Reiki after receiving a mystical revelation that allowed him to gain the spiritual power and knowledge to apply Reiki and to attune others to the skill. He then moved to Tokyo to found the Usui Reiki Healing Society.

Usui was able to apply several principles in the process of developing the Reiki system.  These ethical principles were based on the work of Emperor Meiji and comprised five principles (discussed later).

Prior to Usui's death in 1926, he was able to teach more than 2000 students in the use of Reiki.  Of these, sixteen were able to continue their training so that they reached the "Shinpiden level" which in the West is known as the third degree or master level.

Further Development of Reiki

Following Usui's death, a man by the name of Chujiro Hayashi (who was a former student of Usui's) left the Usui Reiki Healing Society and formed his own Reiki association.  He received the Reiki Master initiation from Dr. Usui about 1925 at the age of 47.  Hayashi was able to simplify the Reiki techniques and stressing the use of physical healing.  He opened a Reiki clinic in Tokyo and kept detailed records of the treatments given.  He used this information to create the Hayashi Healing Guide that included detailed hand positions for specific illnesses and conditions.  He simplified the attunement process and is probably the one to add the master symbol, thus increasing the effectiveness of the attunements.

Hawayo Takata was born on December 24th, 1900, on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.  Her parents were Japanese immigrants and her father worked in the sugar cane fields.  At one point, Takata became very ill and went to Tokyo to heal.  On the operating table, just before her surgery was to begin, Hawayo apparently heard a voice.  The voice said, "The operation is not necessary.  The operation is not necessary."  She had never heard a voice speak to her like this before.  She was confused as to what it meant.  The voice repeated the message a third time even louder.  She knew she was wide awake and had not imagined the voice.  It was so unusual, yet so compelling that she decided to ask the doctor.  She got off the operating table, wrapped a sheet around herself and asked to speak to the doctor.  When the doctor finally came, she asked if he knew of any other way that her problems could be helped.  The doctor knew of Dr. Hayashi's Reiki clinic and told Hawayo about it.  She decided that this was something she wanted to try.

At the Reiki clinic in Tokyo, she began receiving treatments.  She had never heard of Reiki before and did not know what it was.  Using their Reiki hands, the practitioners could tell what was wrong with Mrs. Takata.  Their diagnosis very closely matched the doctor's at the hospital.  This impressed her and gave her confidence in what they were doing.

Two Reiki practitioners would treat her each day.  The heat from their hands was so strong that she thought they were using some kind of equipment.  She looked around, but saw no equipment.  Seeing the large sleeves of the Japanese kimono one of the practitioners was wearing, she thought she had found the location of the equipment.  She grabbed the sleeves, but found nothing.  The startled practitioner wanted to know what she was doing and when she explained, he began to laugh.  Then he told her about Reiki and how it worked.  Mrs. Takata received daily treatments and got progressively better.  In four months, she was completely healed. Impressed with the results, she wanted to learn Reiki.  However, it was explained that Reiki was Japanese and that it was intended to stay in Japan.  It could not be taught to an outsider.

Page 7: soulsongandhumandesign.weebly.comsoulsongandhumandesign.weebly.com/.../1/0/7/8/1078… · Web viewIntroduction. A few things before we start: Reiki Will Never Do Any Harm. It is pure,

Nevertheless, Hayashi initiated and taught Hawayo Takata, who in turn, traveled throughout the United States, showing others the benefit of Reiki and sharing its healing powers.  She was able to get many people up to the second level.  Takata felt it important to charge money for Reiki treatments and instruction. She introduced the third stage or Shinpiden stage and from that derived the term Reiki Master.

Takata died in 1979 and had the pleasure of training 22 Reiki masters.  In fact, almost all Reiki taught and studied in the United States can be attributed to her work in Reiki.

Reiki Principles

Every morning and every night, sit in the Gassho position (hands held at palm to palm) and speak these words out loud in your heart:

"For the evolution of body and soul, Usui Reiki Ryoho".

Principle 1:   An attitude of gratitude positions the mind, and all of the energy flowing from it and to it, to experience happiness. The Ki coming into your soul through a happy disposition draws favor to you from others you encounter. The more favor you experience, the happier you become and the more your Ki is strengthened.  A lack of gratitude pushes others away from you and depletes your encounters with others and the exchange of Ki which occurs each time.

Principle 2:  Worry blocks the Ki flowing through your body and through your life. Since much of your life's Ki is directed from or controlled by your mind, you shut down the flow of Ki when you clutter your mind with worries. The truth is that worry cannot solve anything or add anything to you; it can only subtract from you.   To cast your care requires an intentional mindset which says at its core, "I will NOT worry about this thing today." This mindset must be supported by corresponding action. You must follow up your mental determination with active intention that will redirect your Ki to move you into activities which are divergent from anything that could be related to the source of your worry. For example, if you are worried about your finances, then a divergent and redirecting activity would be to throw yourself into physically playing a game with your children.

Principle 3:  This concept goes a step further than working hard and working honestly.   It also refers to finding the type of work that you are best suited to do and doing that.  Doing work which you are not suited to do will only deplete you and leave you unhappy.  Doing work that you are best suited to do enhances you and all those you work around.  Again, the point of this principle is to keep your Ki open and flowing; many times this is achieved by determining to sow this action as a seed.

Principle 4:  Determining in your soul at the beginning of each day to give no place to anger is vital to personal peace and the flow of your life's energy.   Step back for a minute and think about people you have watched get angry.  What was the overwhelming noticeable element in watching them? The exit of their Ki.  They become exhausted.  What could have been redirected to some other healing activity was lost.  Their own ability to redirect their Ki within their own body was forever gone in the incident.  Someone else, even if it was the dog, gained their negative Ki.  There are better ways to dump negative Ki rather than on someone near you; and the primary reason you don't dump it on those around you is that you ultimately receive negative Ki when you discover that you have no peace in your soul because of your bad behavior.  Meditation or avoidance is the best method for handling hot situations.

Principle 5:   Kindness, like honor, costs us nothing more than our pride and decisive action.  A seed of kindness [if you're thinking in agricultural terms] will reap a harvest of kindness from others.  Good, positive Ki is required to have a life filled with health and healing.  So, the act of sowing the seed of kindness holds the promise of a greater reward than what was given out to others.  Only anger or self-absorption will block you from sowing kindness into everyone you encounter in your day.  To get outside of oneself and look to others as action avenues for freeing you from your selfishness is a great way to increase your own Ki, and sowing kindness into others is a primary way to say goodbye to your self-absorption.  Just for today, it is worth the effort.  You can do for a day what you cannot do for a week or month or year.  You can do for one person at a time what you could not do for a stadium full of people. Your encounters in life are mostly one or two at a time.

Chakras and Meridians

Aspects of the Self

Physical Self

The body is a biological system. The body, including the brain, is the physical dwelling place for the three other aspects of the self. Through the body we act out and manifest the feelings of the emotional self, the thoughts of the intellect, and the presence of the spiritual self.

The following are characteristics of the physical self:

Composed of the elements of the physical universe and subject to its physical laws and conditions

Carrier of genetic information

Interconnected with the mind through neurological and biochemical feedback

Functions in the domains of sensing, action, and communication.

Behaviorally expresses thoughts and feelings

Repository for the memories of all experiences, including thoughts and feelings

Manifests physical symptoms of unresolved conflicts between intellect and emotions

Interestingly, the ancient healers' description of the Chakras or Energy Centers first studied and written about 2600 years ago has proven to be anatomically correct. The location of the 7 Chakras which everyone has, correspond to our bodies as follows:

first five are the five main nerve ganglia of the spinal column where the nerve endings form junctions. At the nerve ganglia, nerves from different organs and parts the body join the spinal cord.

the other two are the upper and lower areas of the brain.

each Chakra is also associated with one of the seven endocrine glands. Thus each organ, the entire body and its functions are connected to our Chakras by the nerves, which generate out from them and by the endocrine glands associated with them.

Emotional Self

Emotions are feelings to which we connect physically and intellectually.  Our Emotional Self is where we store and process our feelings.  Many times, healing can come without our thoughts even being involved.  This is a purely experiential state in which we are present and moving through the process moment by moment.

Since releasing emotions are a large part of healing ourselves, it is important to understand the connection between our physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual selves.

The Emotional Self expresses the full range of feelings and emotions through the physical body.  It is where Negative Love patterns first show up developmentally and, along with the Intellect and Physical Body, where these patterns exist. The Negative Emotional Self is defined as "childish."  It has no sense of time or space.  It regresses readily.

Since releasing emotions are a large part of healing ourselves, it is important to understand the connection between our physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual selves.

Intellectual Self (Thoughts)

Our mind is important for so many things in our lives and our Intellectual Self is a melting pot of ideas, judgments, and life experiences.

Spiritual Self

Perhaps you believe in a higher self, God or a Universal Truth.  Whatever your belief about how our infinite and amazing universe works, this belief lives in your Spiritual Self.  Your "truth," which is a guiding force in determining who you are, why you act a certain way or do what you do, is also a part of your Spiritual Self.

The Spiritual Self is the pure non-programmed, non-mediated aspect of self that is positive, pure, open presence; yearning to embody our larger, true nature in this world. Our Spiritual Self is resonating in harmony with the Universe.

The term "chakra" is of Sanskrit origin and means "wheel" or "disk".  A chakra signifies one of seven energy centers of the body.  Each of the energy centers represents major nerve ganglia that branch out from the spinal column and correlate with level of consciousness, developmental life stages, bodily functions, organ systems, colors and sounds.

To be healthy in the physical body, it is important to keep each chakra clean, open and in balance with those around it. There are numerous approaches to chakra wellness. Some include meditation, color, vibration, toning, chanting.

Exercises to Open Hand Chakras

Maintain a free - flowing passageway for your energy flow that extends from your Crown down along your spine to the palm of your hands and on further right through to the soles of your feet. In the middle of your soles, are two more important chakras that keep you grounded to the Earth's energy.

If you are Right handed:

Your Right Hand is positively charged and sends or gives energy. It emits the energy that "makes things happen".

Your Left hand is negatively charged, and receives energy. It emits the energy that "allows things to happen".

If you are Left handed:

Your Left Hand is positively charged and sends or gives energy. It emits the energy that "makes things happen".

Your Right hand is negatively charged, and receives energy. It emits the energy that "allows things to happen".

Exercises to work on for aligning and balancing the Aura and Chakras

There are many wonderful ways you can heal and align the body. The simplest and easiest way is with breathing and visualisation.

1. In the morning before getting out of bed, do slow and relaxed breathing and using your mind, visualise that you can see and feel your seven Chakras and your aura. Visualise it as a mass of pure and colorful energy surrounding your body.

2. Place your hands on the following areas and activate your Reiki.

3. Visualise that you see energy coming from the earth and attaching itself to your legs like roots to a tree. Now feel the energy travelling up your legs and see the color red filling your Base Chakra.

4. Change the color to orange and see it filling up your Sacral Chakra, and again changing color to yellow and filling up your Solar Plexus Chakra.

5. Moving onto the Heart Chakra, visualize the color green filling your Heart Chakra, and again changing color to blue and filling your Throat Chakra.

6. Moving and changing color to purple and filling your Third Eye Chakra, and finally moving and changing color too white and filling your Crown Chakra.

7. When the energy has reached your crown, visualise the white energy filling your aura , swirling and cleaning it of negative energy.

8. Wrap the energy around your body feeling it protect and clean it of all impurities.

9. Feel your body and breathe, visualise that your body is centered and clean and that you are balanced and whole.

10. Now take the energy and send it backwards into the body and down through the Chakras till it reaches your feet. Feel it go back into the earth.

Doing this Chakra balancing work will help to remove any blockages in the body.

Note:  The front of a chakra deals with the  conscious (& present) whereas the rear deals with the unconscious and past.  The back chakras differ from the front in two major ways.

Firstly, the front holds the present and the future as well as the current symptom of function/dysfunction.  The rear holds the past as well as the cause (genetics, past experience etc).

Secondly, the front holds logic & the limitation of the human plane.  The rear holds limitlessness and freedom from earthly constraints.

Page 13: soulsongandhumandesign.weebly.comsoulsongandhumandesign.weebly.com/.../1/0/7/8/1078… · Web viewIntroduction. A few things before we start: Reiki Will Never Do Any Harm. It is pure,

For example, we know the first chakra (front) to be the seat of our survival energy "I Am". Looking at a dysfunction here might show suicidal tendencies - the present. Looking at the rear of this chakra shows the past -- belief system, family patterns that are the  basis for the current (faulty) expression of the base chakra.

The back and rear sides of the chakras are not identical but complementary.  The symptom that manifests in the front side of the chakra is merely an extension of the belief that is held in the rear of the chakra.  Both sides must be dealt with for health and balance.

Meridians

As information travels through the body's nervous system, Ki energy travels through a similar network…Meridians, in Oriental terms, or Nadis, in Indian/Buddhist terms.

In Oriental anatomy, there are 35 Meridians: twelve ‘major' meridians, fifteen ‘collateral channels' and eight ‘extra' meridians. The 12 major meridians align with pairs of major organs--liver and gallbladder, stomach and spleen, lung and large intestine, heart and small intestine, and others.

These major meridians provide ‘acupoints' for practitioners of acupuncture. Two extra meridians, the Conception Channel (at the front of the body, spanning the thighs to the bottom lip), and the Governor Channel (spanning from the top lip, over the top of the head, down the back to the waist), are especially rich in acupoints (24 in the Conception Channel, 28 in the Governor Channel). When Ki energy is circulated through these two extra meridians--a goal of the QiGong practice--they combine to form the Microcosmic Orbit.

While Meridians and Nadis do not match nerve pathways exactly, they are closely connected. The three major Nadis are the Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna.  The Sushumna connects the seven major Chakras in a vertical column ranging from the Root Chakra to the Crown Chakra; the pathway for Kundalini energy. The Ida and Pingala are Meridians housed on left and right sides of the Sushumna Meridian, closely resembling the pulmonary system as breath flows from the left and right nostrils to the lungs.

·Lung Meridian--problems with this meridian lead to panting, wheezing and coughing

Heart Meridian--problems with this meridian lead to extreme thirst, dry throat and pain in the chest

Pericardium Meridian--problems yield a sweaty palm, spasm of the arm and elbow, chest and rib distention

The Large Intestine Meridian--problems with this meridian can include swelling of the neck and toothache. It controls the liquids of the body.

The Small Intestine Meridian--problems with this meridian include swelling of the lower cheek and sore throat.

San Jiao--problems can include deafness and closing of the throat

Stomach Meridian--problems of this meridian include violent shuddering of the entire body, groaning and yawning

Bladder Meridian--problems with this meridian include headache, eyeballs protruding and pain along the spine

Gallbladder Meridian--problems include bitterness in the mouth, frequent sighing, and pain in the heart and chest

Spleen Meridian--symptoms include the body unable to move, acute pain in the heart and pain at the base of the tongue

·Kidney Meridian--problems include a dry and dark complexion, anorexia, heat and dryness in the mouth

Liver Meridian--problems include lumbago and inability to bend at the waist with a distended lower abdomen

Ren Mai--problems include hernias in the male and masses in the female area with a sense of uneasiness

How to Awaken your Healing Hands

1. First, take a good look at your hands. Turn them over slowly so that you can see both surfaces of the back of the hands and of the palms. Try to look at them as if you're seeing them for the first time. These are your tools for reaching out and helping others.

2. Now close both hands to make loose fists, squeezing the tips of the fingers against the palms. Squeeze and let go. Do this a number of times in rapid succession, until both hands feel energized.

3. The same result may be achieved by gently rubbing your palms together in a circular motion. You may feel tingling or warmth in your palms. Remember this sensation.

4. With this exercise, you will see how your hands react to subtle energies—those traveling faster than the speed of light.

5. Stand or sit comfortably. Take three full breaths into your abdomen to energize yourself.

6. Now hold your hands up to about waist height, with your palms facing inward and the width of your body between them. Let your hands relax so that the fingers separate naturally. Notice what you sense between your two palms.

7. Now bring your hands together, slowly, again, noticing what you sense as you do so.

8. Try again with your hands stretched a little wider apart this time. Imagine that the energies are like strands of elastic stretching from hand to hand. Push them gently inward and pull them out again.

9. Vary the distance between your hands. Turn them over. Move your hands around and together in different ways. Note the various sensations.

10. Now that you've found that your hands are sensitive to energy, let's see what happens when you encourage the process with visualization and focused breathing.

11. Sit comfortably with your feet flat on the ground. Rest your hands on your thighs, palms up. There's an energy center in your palm that's receptive to subtle energies. By keeping your palms up, you're in receptive mode.

12. Breathe normally. Relax your elbows, the back of your neck and your shoulders, and do this by letting go with each out-breath. Close your eyes if this helps you concentrate.

13. Now focus on the center of your palms. Visualize energy as light beaming down into them. What do you feel or sense? Now visualize that you can breathe this energy into your palms. As you see the energy beaming down, breathe in. On the in-breath, the energy is absorbed into your palms. Now, on the out-breath, it fills your hands and arms.

14. Note these last sensations. You've been working with subtle energies—those traveling faster than the speed of light.

15. Now see if you can sense anything different when you send energy out from your hands.

16. As in the previous exercise, sit comfortably with your feet flat on the ground. Rest your hands on your thighs, palms up.

17. Now raise your hands to chest height, turning your palms so they face away from your body. Visualize that you can beam energy out from your palms. What do you sense?

18. Fill your hands with energy on the in-breath as you did in the previous exercise, and send out the energy on the out-breath.

19. So try that. On the in-breath, fill your hands with energy; and on the out-breath, send the energy out.

Page 16: soulsongandhumandesign.weebly.comsoulsongandhumandesign.weebly.com/.../1/0/7/8/1078… · Web viewIntroduction. A few things before we start: Reiki Will Never Do Any Harm. It is pure,

Each of the energy centers represents major nerve ganglia that branch out from

Preparation

Back to RBA: Reiki Master Course Discussions

1. Take a cleansing bath.

2. Take an aura bath, involving washing your hands and combing through the aura around your body, cleansing your hands afterward.  You can use a feather for this as well.

3. Soak up some sun in a sunny window or outdoors.

4. Take several cleansing breaths.

5. Begin with a healing affirmation like "I invoke the light of God within. I am a clear and perfect channel. Light is my Guide."

6. Hold your hands in prayer position (basic gassho) in order to center you.

7. Visualize yourself connected to an aura of light and love about you and about the earth.  This is a simple, but very effective meditation, and can be done as often as you wish.  Practice Gassho daily for 10-15 minutes until you are used to it.  Then you can maintain the meditation as long as you like.

1. Sit with your hands in prayer position (Gassho means prayer position) and concentrate on breathing in and out slowly.

2. With each in breath imagine that Reiki is entering your crown and filling your entire body - with each outbreath visualise that you are exhaling Reiki from every pore in your body and off out into infinity.  This is a simple, but very effective meditation, and can be done as often as you wish.

Hatsurei-ho Meditation

1. Sit either on the floor or upright in a chair in a relaxed position.

2. Close your eyes and focus your attention on your Hara or Tan tien (just below the navel)

3. Place your hands on your lap with the palms facing down.

4. State your intention silently..I am going to practice hatsurei-ho now.

5. We start with what is called dry bathing by bringing our right hand up to just below your left shoulder, palm downwards.  Draw your hand in a diagonal movement down to your right hip.

6. The place your LEFT hand under your RIGHT sholder and make the same diagonal sweeping movement across to your left hip.

7. Repeat these two sweeps across the body another two times each, making a total of three pairs of sweeps across your body.(This dry bathing is a type of energy cleansing action and can be carried out every time you perform the hatsurei ho.)

8. Now you connect to Reiki.

9. Raise your hands over your head, with the palms upwards (hands in a line with your shoulders pointing outwards).

10. Visualise the flow of Reiki as light or energy coming into your hands and running down your arms through your body and down into your Hara.  It is amazing how quickly you will feel this happen.  When you feel the flow of Reiki then gently lower your palms back into your lap with the palms upwards again.

11. Now you start the part of the meditation which focuses on the Hara.

12. Still with your hands resting on your lap, breathe through your nose in a normal fashion. Pay attention to your breathing and focus on your Hara.

13. As you gently breathe in, visualise light flooding in through your crown chakra and travelling down your body to reach your Hara.

14. Pause slightly before you exhale and feel the light becoming stronger and filling your entire body freeing all tension.

Page 24: soulsongandhumandesign.weebly.comsoulsongandhumandesign.weebly.com/.../1/0/7/8/1078… · Web viewIntroduction. A few things before we start: Reiki Will Never Do Any Harm. It is pure,

15. Now breathe out, and as you do visualise that you are exhaling the light from every pore of your entire body, also from your hands and feet and head, in all directions and out into infinity.

16. Continue  this breathing light for as long as you feel comfortable doing so.  You may feel energy sensations and the build up of heat in your Hara while doing this.

17. When you are ready you move on to the next part of the hatsurei-ho.

18. Bring your hands together in front of you in gassho, or prayer position and focus your attention on the place where the middle fingers touch each other.  Continue to sit breathing normally.  This is usually a very pleasant and relaxing part of hatsurei ho and you can sit like this for as long as you like. 20/30 minutes is not too long, and of course less than this if you feel like it.

19. Now to continue on to the meditation concentration part of the exercise.  You stay in exactly the same position, except now when you breath in you visualise the light of Reiki being drawn in through your hands and straight through on into your Hara.  It is as if you are breathing through your hands.

20. Pause before you exhale allowing the energy to build up before release it, the breathe out from your Hara and through your hands.

21. Continue this flushing breathing for a few minutes or longer, as you wish.

22. When you are ready to stop, say the principles three times...Just for today, do not anger, Do not worry, Be grateful, Work hard, Be kind to others.

23. Then bring your hands back down to your lap and say silently to yourself I am finishing Hatsurei-ho now.

24. Sit for a few moments to re-orient yourself.

25. You are now finished hatsurei-ho

Healing Variations

Posted by Hummingbird on October 18, 2011 at 6:13pm in RBA: Reiki Master Course

Reiki is often called "smart" or "intelligent" energy.  It knows which parts of the body need the healing the most and automatically goes to those areas that are suffering imbalances.  Reiki will not cause harm to anyone.  It can be safely used with other types of treatment.

Please note cautions when treating the following:

Treating Broken Bones .  Remember that Reiki is an intelligent energy that will cause no harm and that placing your hands on the body will activate Reiki's healing process.  When treating a broken bone, do not place your hands directly over the break.  The concern is that Reiki's quick healing process would be a premature remedy to a misaligned or twisted bone, making it difficult for it to heal correctly.  Wait until the bone has been set before placing your hands directly over the bones.   Prior to that, you can touch any other area of the body for healing.

Treating Bumps and Bruises .  Reiki blocks or diminishes bleeding under the skin and you can place your hands directly on the skin where the bruise or bump is.  You can place your hands on skinned knees, stubbed toes and other areas that may be injured.  Wait until the pain subsides.

Treating Burns and Sunburns .  When applying Reiki to burned skin, don't touch it directly.  Instead, allow your hands to hover over the burned area at a distance that is comfortable.  This safeguards against possible infection that could occur if you touch the burn. In addition, because Reiki releases hot streams or beams of energy, the excess heat could hurt the burned area.  Remember that Reiki energies and symbols can be placed into anything to assist healing and transformation.  You can also put Reiki's rays into a bottle of aloe vera gel before applying it to the skin; in addition, you can beam Reiki energy into the aloe vera gel a it is being applied to the body.  To protect your skin from the sun, place the Sei Hei Kei symbol onto sun block lotions and moisturizing creams.

Treating Bleeding Injuries .  Do not touch the areas that are bleeding because you could expose the area to infection.  Instead, hover above the bleeding area similar to what you do for burns.  Reiki will work when you apply pressure to a wound with a dressing and will help staunch the flow of blood.  Don't be concerned about stopping the flow of blood immediately on minor cuts because the flow of blood will allow contaminants to flow out of the wound and clean it out.  After a dressing has been applied, apply a hands-on spot treatment to the wound to promote healing and tissue restoration.

Treating Bee Stings .  Apply immediate spot treatment to relieve the pain of the bee sting.  Be careful not to touch the sting itself as it may result in burying the stinger more deeply into the sting.  Remove the stinger with a tweezers either before or after an initial Reiki treatment.

Heartburn and Indigestion .  Place your hands upon the chest or abdominal area.  Take a few big breaths to clear internal blockages.  You can also bless your meals before eating them in order to avoid post-meal indigestion.

Anxiety and Phobias .  Reiki works well for calming fears and reducing anxiety.  Everyone experiences moments of anxiety and confusion, and Reiki can play a role in helping control these feelings.

Reiki For Chronic Pain .  Reiki can be used along with other forms of pain management.  The individual receiving Reiki might find themselves using fewer pain medications and being more active.  They should be encouraged to talk to their doctor before stopping any pain medication or other medication.  When it comes to pain management, it may be important to continue full body Reiki sessions to maintain the pain relief they got.

Surgical Procedures .  Reiki can be used before and after surgery. Using it before surgery makes it easier to tolerate the stress of having surgery.  A series of Reiki treatments can be done before surgery to ease the discomfort and anxiety of the procedure and can help promote healing after the procedure.  During the operation, a Reiki practitioner can send absentia Reiki to the surgical patient.  This can be done from a room nearby, such as a waiting room.  A post operative Reiki session can be given in the recovery room and as long as needed to promote recovery.

Page 26: soulsongandhumandesign.weebly.comsoulsongandhumandesign.weebly.com/.../1/0/7/8/1078… · Web viewIntroduction. A few things before we start: Reiki Will Never Do Any Harm. It is pure,

The steps to begin self Reiki are as follows:

1. Lie on a carpeted floor, couch, reclining chair or bed.  You should be completely comfortable.

2. The room should be temperature controlled and heated or cooled to your own personal comfort level.

3. Wash your hands thoroughly and remove any jewelry from your arms and hands.  Prepare to be gentle on your body.

4. Hold the fingers and thumb of your hand so that there are no obvious gaps between the thumbs and the fingers.

The Order of Hand Placement

1. Face: Place the palms of your hands against the sides of your face, cupping your hands softly over your eyes.  The tips of your fingers should be touching your forehead.  Don't squeeze your nostrils.

2. Crown of Your Head: Place the palms of your hands on either side of your head just above your ears and wrap your hands around the side of your head so the tips of your fingers meet at the crown of your head.

3. Back of Your Head: Cross your arms behind your head, placing one hand above the other so the totality of your hands covers the back of your head to the nape of your neck.

4. Chin and Jaw Line: Cup your chin and jaw line in your hands so that your inner wrists gently touch beneath your chin. Rest your fingertips on your earlobes.

5. Neck Collarbone and Heart: Rest one hand over your heart and the other should grasp the throat gently with your thumb on one side of your throat and your fingers on the other.

6. Ribs: Place your hands on your ribcage, just beneath your breasts and have your fingertips touching.

7. Abdomen: Place your hands on your solar plexus just above your navel and allow your fingertips to touch.

8. Pelvic Bones: Place your right hand over your right pelvic bone and your left hand on your left pubic bone.  Allow your fingertips to touch in the middle of your pelvis.

9. Shoulders and Shoulder Bones: Reach over the top of the shoulders as far down as you can and attempt to place a hand on each shoulder bone.  Go only as far as is comfortable.

10. Midback: Reach behind your back to the small of your back and place your hands lightly on each side, with your fingertips touching in the middle.

11. Lower Back: Reach behind your back, elbows bent and place your hands on your lower back.  Allow your fingertips to touch in the middle if possible.

Page 27: soulsongandhumandesign.weebly.comsoulsongandhumandesign.weebly.com/.../1/0/7/8/1078… · Web viewIntroduction. A few things before we start: Reiki Will Never Do Any Harm. It is pure,

12. Sacrum: Reach behind your back and cup your hands over your sacrum, side-by-side.  Allow your pinkie fingers to touch in the middle.

It is completely normal for Reiki to flow better in some placements than in others or, at times, not to flow at all.  If you feel the flow of Reiki is blocked, take a few deep breaths and allow it to start flowing again.

Laddering Technique

Finish your routine by closing and balancing your chakras using the laddering technique or use a method you are already comfortable with.

1.  Start by placing one hand on your root chakra, while placing the other hand on your sacral chakra - leave for 30-seconds.

2. Take your your root chakra and place it on your solar plexus; your other hand remains on your sacral chakra - leave for 30-seconds.

3. Take your hand off your sacral chakra and place it on your heart chakra; your other hand remains on your solar plexus chakra - leave for 30-seconds.

4. Take your hand off your solar plexus chakra and place it on your throat chakra; your other hand remains on your heart chakra - leave for 30-seconds.

5. Take your hand off your throat chakra and place it on your 3rd eye chakra; your other hand remains on your heart chakra (your heart chakra is the dividing point that connects your physical being to the spiritual realm) - leave for 30-seconds.

6. Take your hand off your 3rd eye chakra and place it on your crown chakra; your other hand remains on your heart chakra - leave for 30-seconds..

7. As you place your hands on each chakra, your intention is to close each chakra, like flower petals closing up, but leave a small opening in the centre to allow energy to still flow. Visualize universal light penetrating; feel its warmth

Although it is important to practice the Reiki hand placements, it is also advisable to practice energy breathing techniques, which will ground you, strengthen your ability to draw in universal life-force or Reiki energy, accelerate the removal of toxins, plus deliver more oxygen and nutrients throughout your body.

It is important to journalize in a diary your daily experiences, which will help you to track energy shifts, as well as your personal growth pattern and your spiritual growth pattern.

Byosen Scanning.  The word byosen is made up of two Chinese characters.

The first one is byo, which means sick, illness, and the second is son, which means gland or accumulating.  So byosen means the accumulation of illness. The technique means to become aware of the evidence of the accumulation of illness.

The different levels of byosen:

Level one is heat. If the Reiki practitioner feels excess heat in her hands, the recipient’s body temperature is above normal or the recipient’s body contains a lot of inflammation.

Level two is strong heat. This is as enough heat to make the practitioner’s palms sweat. This indicates an increased level of inflammation or heat in the recipient’s body.

Level three is tingling. This indicates a more serious condition, where perhaps inner inflammation has created or begun to create a system blockage or breakdown.

Level four is pulsation or cold. This pulse can be strong or weak, slow or fast. When the spot you touch feels cold, this is not coming from your hands but is a sign that the person’s byosen is at level four.

Level five is pain in the hands or body of the practitioner. This is not a sign that you are taking in the energy of the recipient, but that the person’s byosen is at level five.

The Reiki practitioner doesn’t need to be concerned when they experience pain during a Reiki session. This occurs when positive Reiki energy flows into a strongly negatively charged body, indicating the need for Reiki.  The main issue is to be aware of what you are feeling and what level of byosen is presenting itself. Byosen will rise and fall, so if you feel an intense sensation, hang on and don’t move your hands. The sensation will soon diminish. The next wave will probably be a little less intense. Hang on until the peaks diminish to level two or lower.

If you do not feel a byosen at all, then client’s body is too toxic to react.  This is a time to suggest the person seek medical help, if they aren’t already doing that.

Learning to discern the levels of byosen energy is a skill that can take years to acquire. Knowing what byosen is and what it isn’t, as well as the levels of byosen, is a great place to start.

General Technique:

1. Energize the hands

2. Check for general physical vitality

3. Scan chakras

4. Scan the body from heat to toe with fingers slightly apart, plams facing out and towards the feet.

5. Feel for heat, glitches, static and cloudiness.

Symbols

Posted by Hummingbird on October 15, 2011 at 7:00pm in RBA: Reiki Master Course

Back to RBA: Reiki Master Course Discussions

Reiki symbols are sacred healing symbols which enhance the flow of Life Force Energy. They are like keys that open doors to higher levels of awareness and manifestation.

Reiki symbols are Sanskrit-derived Japanese forms. Sanskrit is the mother-tongue of all other languages. It is the language of the Vedas, the oldest writings known to man. The Vedas say that Sanskrit is the language of the spirit world.

Reiki symbols are imprinted on the student linking the symbols to theenergies the symbol represents. The attunement actually empowers the symbols to their intended purpose. This process has been created by a Divine covenant or sacred agreement between the Creator and those who have been attuned.

It is believed that Dr. Usui, who rediscovered Reiki and brought it in front of the world, saw each symbol in his mind on the 21st day of his fast on the Holy Mountain. These symbols were embedded in bright, golden light and each symbol came before his eyes turn by turn allowing him to register them well. Although Dr. Usui had no clue as to what those symbols meant, he realized his life changed from that moment. He discovered he could treat anybody by simply placing his hands on the affected area. As he developed Reiki as a healing system, he incorporated these symbols that were widely used later for Reiki healing.

The three basic symbols used in Reiki ll, which were originally in Japanese and Siddham script, took on a slightly different form in modern times mainly because they were passed down orally.  According to Reiki experts, these symbols were traditionally seed characters or attributes for deities as per the Japanese and Siddham culture.  Dr. Usui decided to pass on these symbols in their current form, as he strongly believed he could pass on the empowerment of energy to others to enable them to impart Reiki healing by using symbols in a particular way.

Modern Reiki practitioners regard Reiki symbols as triggers to connect with the Reiki energy and gain control over mind. With these triggers in place, practitioners can move into an inner area that may have been blocked and fill it with Reiki energy.  Apart from symbols, Reiki practitioners may also make use of sounds, gestures, images, and words to trigger

something in the recipient's mind.

The symbols have their own consciousness, and it is possible to meditate on them and receive guidance on how to use them directly from the symbols themselves.

Symbols can be activated in any of the following ways:

drawing them in the center of your palm

drawing them with your finger

visualizing them

drawing them with your third eye

spelling/saying the symbol's name three times.

You can use whatever method you wish, but don't forget that it's the intent that counts.

With practice the symbols will become less relevant and the focus will change to the "intent" of the specific energies required.

Why use Reiki symbols?

Various Reiki Masters have different viewpoints as far as Reiki symbols are concerned. Some believe Reiki symbols may be some kind of forms like the ones used in sacred geometry or the Yantra Mandalas having the power to invoke ability or bring about intended result.

On the other hand, some Reiki experts believe symbols acquire powers by being charged from repeated use or with the intention of people. There are practitioners who also believe that symbols are nothing but tools or triggers to help you connect with spiritual energy. The vast majority of Reiki practitioners however believe that Reiki symbols do not have any powers of their own but are required to activate certain types of Reiki healings.

Again whether to work with symbols or not is yet another matter of debate. Some Reiki practitioners use symbols only in the beginning and soon move on to the Reiki functions with time. However there are others who always make it a point to include symbols while using Reiki. As a practitioner, you will soon be able to devise your own method of sending Reiki, as there is no such thing as the "best" way of sending Reiki.

Diistance Healings

Posted by Hummingbird on October 15, 2011 at 4:09pm in RBA: Reiki Master Course

Back to RBA: Reiki Master Course Discussions

There are several different method for conducting distance healings.

Method 1:  White Rose

1. C;ose your eyes and image the person to whom you are sending healing (or the name of the person).

2. Send the Reiki symbols to wither their third eye or heart chakra.  You can etiher physically draw the symbols with your fingertips, imagine/visualize the symbols, or say the symbol names 3 times each.

3. Dissolve the image of the receiver and imagine a beautiful white rose instead.

4. Send the symbols to the rose an dimagine pure loving energy glowing into the rose through its stem and up to the flower where it fully blooms and glows with Reiki energy.

5. Now bring back your image of the person to whom you're sending healing and send her the rose.  Imagine tht the received accepts the rose and places it into their heart chakra.

6. Imagine the rose sinking into her their heart chakra and expanding to fll their entire being.  See them radiate with light and love.

Method 2:

1. Empower your hands and chakras with the Usui power symbol. Then give yourself Reiki for 10-15 minutes.

2. Invoke or visualize the distant healing symbol and say its name three times. Visualize the person you will be sending Reiki to. Intend to send Reiki to each level of being for 10-20 minutes.

3. Send Reiki to their physical level of being, imagine that the Reiki enters their crown chakra. Then it goes inside their body and slowly and gently fills them up. As they become filled with Reiki energy, all of their body organs and parts are bathed in Reiki. Then the energy begins to radiate out from their physical body. Imagine that they are glowing with healing energy. See them expanded and their first energy layer filled.

4. Send Reiki to their emotional being. Imagine that they are filled with peace, joy, love, contentment and overall well being. Imagine that the glow from their physical body now extends out into their emotional level.

5. Send Reiki to their mental being. Intend that their thoughts are clear and calm. Imagine that their brain is working so that thoughts flow easily, and are well thought out, Imagine that solutions to perplexing problems come easily. Imagine that worry gently flows out of their body. As all these troubling thoughts leave their body, Reiki fills up and extends out into their mental level.

6. Send Reiki to their spiritual being. Imagine that Reiki comes in and fills up and restores their spirit….their essence…their soul. Imagine it as a beautiful golden flow of energy that is a direct link to the higher realms. Imagine that guidance flows in and that they are directly connected to the source, whatever they believe that to be.

Intend that the Reiki energy reconnects them to the divine within them and reignites their flame. See them filled with spiritual energy that extends out beyond all the other levels of their being.

You can also do this by having a conversation with the person before you send Reiki. You can address each level of being by asking questions before the session. For the physical body you can ask them how they are feeling? Are they having any discomfort or pain?

For the emotional body, you can ask how they are feeling emotionally. Is there something that is making them feel happy or something that is making them feel sad?

Then ask if they have too much on their mind or are worried about something? Does their head feel like it is ready to explode?

To address the spiritual level, ask how their spirit feels? Do they experience the sacredness of everyday life or is everyday just another day? Do they feel alone and unprotected in the world?

Before you are ready to begin sending Reiki, ask them to allow the Reiki energy to heal and address all of their levels of being. Ask them to allow themselves to receive this healing energy.

Then send Reiki for 10-20 minutes to each level of being and intend that the Reiki go to the issues, thoughts, or feelings that you discussed.

After the session is finished, let them rest. Visualize a power symbol over them and seal the session with light and love. Do dry bathing (Kenyoku) to disconnect from their energy field. Give yourself Reiki for a few minutes. You can call them afterwards to see what they experienced and share what you sensed.

Then end with gratitude for the gift of Reiki.

For an absent session:

1. know what the person looks like or have a picture

2. know the address or current location

3. know the history of the problem - emotional and/or physical

4. find a quiet place, without interruptions

5. use a prop

Kenyoku-Ho - 'ken - dry, yoku - bath', a great method for cleansing yourself before and after each treatment, disconnecting ones energy from others as well as strengthen your own energy, dry bathing or clearing ones energy field. (It is done by Shinto priests at some ceremonies to clear/purify body and spirit.

According to some resources - originally the brushing was only from wrist to tips of fingers.  The brushing of the arms from shoulder to hand is an addition by H. Doi)

1. Place your right hand on your left shoulder with palm gently touching your shoulder.

2. In a smooth & gentle motion slide the hand down to the right hip - while breathing out (Haa sound)

3. Repeat the process on the right side, using the left hand sliding down toward the left hip.

4. Repeat once or twice more on each side. Always breathe out when sliding down - Haa sound

5. Now - place the right hand on the edge of the left shoulder and slide the hand down the left arm all the way to the fingertips. Left arm is straight and at your side.

6. Place the left hand on the edge of the right shoulder and slide the hand down the right arm all the way to the fingertips while right arm is straight and at your side.

7. Repeat it once or twice with both hands.

8. Put your hands on the lap.

Jacki-kiri Joka-ho - 'jakki - negative, kirito - cut, joka - cleansing' - a method of transforming negative energy into positive. Use this only for objects but not for living beings.

1. breathe in - let Reiki flow in your body (if the object is small you might hold it on your hand),

2. hold the breath - cut the negative energy using one of the hand; do it in three short strokes motion over the object,

3. breathe out, relax,

4. breathing normally charge the object with Reiki. It can be done for crystals, furniture, house, used things etc...

Different Uses for Reiki

Clearing Houses.    Houses absorb energy the same as we do. They can store feelings and emotions within their rooms and walls. These emotions stay in the house until they are cleared.

Reiki is able to cleanse out the negative and evil energy and replace it with love.

If a house is haunted, with the power of Reiki you can remove the spirit with love.

When a house absorbs the negative energy it can cause disruption with the people who live there. You can suffer bad sleeping patterns and a sense of not wanting to be in the house for long periods of time. You may also find that you become restless. There may be a lot of arguments and upsets that take place because of the build up of energy in the house.

When you buy a house that had other generations in it, the memories of all the love, laughter, tears and anger are stored within the house’s walls. This creates an energy slime that needs to be cleared. If there have been seances in the house the house may be filled with spirits. If a death occurred within the house that spirit or their energy may still be present in the house.

House clearing with Reiki can clear away the old negative energy and restore the house back to a positive atmosphere.

How to begin

1. Set a protective healing on yourself with the Reiki 2 symbols before you set foot in the house. Call in your protective and healing guides to surround you as you enter the house or building. Take three white candles, some incense (preferably sandalwood) and a smudge stick. If you are involved with Shamanism, take your drum and rattle. If you read Tarot or Runes have them with you as well. Take some gentle loving music that you will leave there when you have gone.

2. When you enter the house I want you to light your candles, put the music on and light your incense. Set this up in the main room where everyone places their energy in. Holding one candle in your hand, walk around each room and open your psychic eye and read and feel the energy that is around. If you need help, use your Tarot, or Runes to give you further explanations.

3. Find the areas that have a lot of anger and sorrow. Make a note- these areas will need the most healing.

4. Find the areas that have good vibrations and lots of love. This is where you will tap into the good that the house has around it. You will be setting these areas up as strong energy walls that will support your healing.

5. When you have gone around and felt the energy, you will have an idea of what has gone on in the past and how this has affected the house in the present. Go back to main room and talk to the owners or occupiers of the house and explain what you have felt. You need to counsel them and their behaviour within the house and around the rooms that are the most negative. Teach them how they can help and assist with the healing of the house once you have left.

A few examples are:

There is to be no anger, arguments or violence where a room has been exposed to this energy in the past. They are to take their anger outside.

Placing white candles, incense, crystals, indoor plants, and playing soft healing music every day after the healing will help keep the negative energy away. When you burn a white candle this helps to burn away anything that is evil or negative in the room. The incense places a clean smell that invokes a clean room. The music soothes the tension, fear and anger that may accidentally come back into the room.

If you find that a spirit was present and it's line of entry was in a certain room, that room needs to have a healing shrine placed in it. The shrine will have a wooden bowl filled with clear quartz, rose, fluorite and amethyst crystals and a lovely inside plant. Light a white candle and burn some sandal wood each morning around the shrine. This helps to establish a loving and healing presence and makes the room stronger with positive vibrations that shuts off negative vibrations.

Page 38: soulsongandhumandesign.weebly.comsoulsongandhumandesign.weebly.com/.../1/0/7/8/1078… · Web viewIntroduction. A few things before we start: Reiki Will Never Do Any Harm. It is pure,

When you are ready to start the healing on the house, sit yourself down and activate your Reiki Second Degree symbols. Call in your Guides and white light yourself. Go to each room and with your white candle, sit down and place your hands out toward the whole room, palms facing upwards. Activate your Reiki and send the energy out for about 20-30 minutes.. Ask that there be no violent or negative reactions and that anything evil enter into the light with the love of the Reiki power. Activate more Reiki symbols and keep pumping love through until you feel it fill the whole room. If you need to go to a wall or an area and place more energy there, do so. When you are finished go to the other rooms and repeat the procedure. If there are no entities but only negative vibrations you will be able to stabilise the room much quicker, between 3-10 minutes. After you have finished, light your smudge stick and smoke each room to clear away the left over energy.

If you studying Shamanism, you can use your drum and smudge stick or even a Buddhist bell after to also raise the vibrations to a healing spiritual level and call in earth guides to protect the house. After you have done the healing follow up for a few weeks with absentee healings to keep an eye on the happenings within the house.

Colors and Crystals

Color therapy is a form of chakra healing. Color is used to bring a balance in our chakras and aura, thus getting the person back into health and alignment.

Red stands for strong energy, primeval creative force and fire. It signifies mind, will, strong passion, love, hate, anger and unexpected changes. Red has an influence on the circulatory system, the reproductive system and arousing of latent abilities. Red builds up our will power and keeps us active.  Red also represents the root chakra.

Orange stands for warmth, emotions, creativity, vitality, ambition and fertility. It signifies courage and joy and also indicates emotional imbalances and disturbance. This color helps the flow of energy, adding peace and balance.

Yellow indicates mental activity and reflects wisdom, intellect and new learning prospects. It is one the easiest and the first aura colors to be seen. A pale yellow seen around the hairline can indicate optimism.  Orange also represents the sacral chakra.  Yellow symbolizes the power of ideas and arousing psychic capacities and clairsentience. Yellow also represents the solar plexis chakra.

Green implies sympathy, calm and growth and is the color of sensitivity and compassion. It indicates reliability, tolerance and dependability. Bright green moving toward the blue spectrum in the aura indicates healing ability. It is a color of abundance, strength and friendliness.   Green detoxifies and energizes, boosting the will to live.   Green also represents the heart chakra.

Blue is one of the easiest colors to observe in the aura. Indicating calmness and quietness, it shows devotion, truth and seriousness. This color can be a sign of one's capacity for clairaudience and also for the enhancement of telepathy.  Blue also represents the throat chakra.

Violet stands for spirituality, determination, peace, insight, transformation, and devotion to others. It is the color of warmth and transformation. It controls respiration and helps digestion; inspires, helps with grief and promotes serenity. It is the color for the merging of the physical with the spiritual.   Violet also represents the third eye chakra.

Pink stands for love, compassion and purity, gold for vibrant spiritual energy, gray for initiation and brown stands for new growth. Of all colors, black is a mystifying color. It is a color of protection and also shows that the person has secrets. It indicates imbalances.

In Reiki the use of healing stones is commonly practiced.  Gemstones support the healing process and Reiki practitioners and Masters are attracted to crystals.  They say that crystals can work in many ways to improve their treatments. The stone that is to be used first has to be cleared and so also after every use.

A good way to maintain your chakras is to carry or wear gemstones that are associated with each chakra. This is necessary for your health and well being of mind, body, and spirit.

Reiki treatment carefully cleanses the chakras getting them into balance with each other.

Page 40: soulsongandhumandesign.weebly.comsoulsongandhumandesign.weebly.com/.../1/0/7/8/1078… · Web viewIntroduction. A few things before we start: Reiki Will Never Do Any Harm. It is pure,

A list of a few of the gemstones generally related with each of the chakras are:

Root or Base chakra is associated with our sense of safety and security when the gemstones are ruby, red jasper, garnet, black tourmaline, smoky quart.

Sacral or Belly Chakra is connected with close, intimate relationships, such as with our family and life partners and the gemstones are amber, citrine, orange calcite, topaz and carnelian.

Solar Plexus Chakra is linked with our emotional stability and self-confidence and Golden topaz, tiger-eye, citrine are the stones related to it.

Heart Chakra is related to love, compassion and caring and the gemstones are rose quartz, emerald, aventurine and kunzite.

Throat Chakra is associated with our communication and what we think and feel. The stones for this chakra being aquamarine, sodalite, turquoise, chrysocolla and lapis lazuli.

Third Eye Chakra is related to our psychic abilities and intuition. The gemstones associated with this are amethyst, lapis lazuli and blue calcite.

Crown Chakra is the source of our spirituality and amethyst, selenite, sugilite chariot and clear quartz are the gemstones here.

Reiki makes use of different kinds and forms of crystal structures called grids. There are a variety of methods of creating grids. They start off with meditation and the careful respectful placement of the stones and crystals with the stones normally being placed in clockwise order. People may make offerings to the stone spirits before they start making the grid or then it is done after placing the stones.

In the square or pyramid grid a flat representation of a pyramid is made with five main stones one in the center and one in each corner. This can be done by aligning with the four directions and connecting on the outer wall with a crystal between each of the corner crystals. For this, one could use either double terminated crystals or two single terminated crystals, which could have one pointing in and one pointing out between the center stone and the corner stones. The four-sided crystal grid pattern results in a field of energy over a large area. Whatever is placed within this field will take in and amass this energy. You can make a big grid or keep the grid on a box in which you have things that you want to remain clear and charged. This grid is an unwavering grid that enhances programs concerning relationships, long-term plans, healing, etc.

Eight spoke grids symbolize the Seasonal Wheel of the year. They can be used for grids associated with long term projects. These are used as healing grids, meditation grids and for other grid work too.  There are also some people who use 12 sided grids for purposes where either a year or where zodiac elements will be of significant help. Many people use this formation to make love and relationship grids.

Relationship Grid

A grid pattern used to help resolve relationship issues can be made of two groups of three stones set in triangles with the points toward the center, a center stone may be placed between the two triangles to act as an energy transmitter or to represent a particular issue or aspect of the situation being worked on. Or one stone may be used as the center for both triangles.  You can add more stones to fill in the outline if you have them and feel guided to do so.

It's been known for a long time that different sounds can enhance feelings of peace and tranquility while other sounds induce feelings of strife and violence. Take for instance the difference between new age or classical music and heavy metal or rap music. The former enhances harmony while the latter enhances feelings of raising hell. But sound therapy can go much deeper than just whether the music relaxes the audience or not.

Root chakra. Use the Uh sound or the Lam sound as a mantra. Use drums also. The root chakra resonates to the note "C" or "Do" (originally called "Ut", Solfeggio frequency is 396 Hz.

Sacral chakra resonates to the note "D" or "Mi", Solfeggio frequency is 417 Hz.

Naval chakra. Use the Oh sound or the Ram sound as a mantra. Use a saxophone. The naval chakra resonates to the note "E" or "FA", Solfeggio frequency is 528 Hz.

Heart chakra. Use the Ahhh sound or the Yam sound as a mantra. Use a violin. The heart chakra resonates to the note "F" or "SO", Solfeggio frequency is 639 Hz.

Throat chakra. Use the Eye sound or the Ham sound as a mantra. Use a flute. The throat chakra resonates to the note "G" or "LA", Solfeggio frequency is 741 Hz.

Third eye chakra. Use Aye sound or the Sham sound as a mantra. Use a crystal bowl. The third eye chakra resonates to the note "A" or "TI", Solfeggio frequency is 852 Hz.

Crown chakra. Use Eeee sound or the Om sound as a mantra along with human voices. The crown chakra resonates to the note "B" or "Do", Solfeggio frequency is 963 Hz.

Color therapy

Certain colors may also assist with the opening of the chakras. To use color in a reiki session use a colored cloth, colored stones, or a colored light on the chakras below. Color therapy can also be combined with sound therapy and aromatherapy

Aromatherapy

Below are a few ideas of essences in relation to the body chakras.

Reiki and legal issues

While reiki is unregulated by most states there are a few states which require reiki practitioners to become licenced massage therapists (LMT's) in order to legally practice reiki.    You will need to check with your state medical board or massage therapy board to see whether your state is one of those states or simply ask other reiki practitioners who have been in the business longer.  Assuming your state is not one of those states that requires an LMT license then there are still steps that you can take to legally protect you should you decide to do reiki as a business.

These are:

1. Knowing what constitutes "practicing medicine without a license"2. Having a disclaimer3. Knowing whether to touch or not to touch4. Having a vendors license5. Paying sales tax

Related to the issues above it's important to not only know in theory what constitutes practicing medicine without a license but also to put this knowledge in writing so that all can see it.   To this end it is a good idea to develop some type of disclosure for your clients to see and sign which indicates they have been made aware of your role as a wellness coach and their role as a wellness student and that reiki is for relaxation purposes only and is a spiritually based practice.   Indicating that reiki is a spiritually based practice also gives you some legal protection under the law since faith based healers are given some legal rights to touch those that seek their assistance.   Does this mean that you should join the Universal Light Church and pay a $30 fee to become ordained as a minister and have the legal protection that ministers have to use hands on healing methods?

If one advertises themself as a minister it's assumed that they have an actual congregation of some type or else their ministry might not be perceived as legitimate.   However if you advertise reiki as a spiritually based practice you are being completely truthful because it is.   That being said following is and example you can use of a disclosure statement.  Feel free to modify it and use it for your own reiki practice:

Disclaimer for reiki practice

I understand that Reiki is a spiritually based stress reduction and relaxation technique.  I acknowledge that treatments administered are only for the purpose of helping me relax and to relieve stress.

Reiki practitioners do not diagnose conditions, nor do they prescribe substances or perform medical treatment, nor interfere with the treatment of a licensed health care professional for any physical or psychological ailment Imay have.

Signed _______________________________Date __________________________

Knowing whether to touch or not to touchSince reiki is already consider massage therapy under the law in most states and could potentially be considered massage therapy in other states it's a good idea not to confuse the issue and make sure the client knows that reiki is not massage therapy, you will not use massage techniques with them, they are to remain fully clothed, and you will not touch them inappropriately.    It's also a good idea to ask the client if it's OK to touch them or not.    While reiki is a hands on natural healing method and touching is assumed many clients do not want to be touched so it's a good idea to ask.   Also it's never a good idea to touch inappropriately and you should work within the aura when working near private parts of the body and not touch.    Most people however are comfortable being touched on the other parts of the body but it's always a good idea to ask if they wish to be touched or not.

Having a vendors license and paying sales taxAnd finally it's a good idea that you obtain a vendors license and pay sales tax since not doing so may get you in trouble.

Page 44: soulsongandhumandesign.weebly.comsoulsongandhumandesign.weebly.com/.../1/0/7/8/1078… · Web viewIntroduction. A few things before we start: Reiki Will Never Do Any Harm. It is pure,

If you are working for a holistic healthcare center or a spa it will be the responsibility of the owner or the supervisor to take care of these issues for you.   If you are self employed then it's your responsibility

Building good relations with other practitioners

Many people go into the holistic healthcare field with the idea that there aren't enough clients to go around and their is too much competition with other reiki practitioners and other holistic practitioners.  If you go into the field with this attitude you will not succeed.  It is important to remember that what you think is what you manifest and if you think abundance and plently of clients for everyone then that is what will manifest.   The needs are many and even though the average person still might not yet be aware of reiki as a potential solution to their problems as you maintain a positive and affirmative attitude your attitude will draw those clients to you and also keep you in good relations with other holistic practitioners.  It is always a good idea to keep good relations with them because as you help them they will help you.   Do all you can to network with other reiki practitioners and other holistic practitioners and share ideas and fellowship with them.   It's been said that as the water rises all boats rise with it and I feel this is true.  As holistic practitioners raise the consciousness of the local area where they live they all benefit.

One good place to meet those other practitioners is at reiki gatherings (also called reiki shares).   In addition to providing opportunity to practice reiki on each other it also provides the opportunity to learn new skills and acquire new students.   It also helps get the word out that you are in the business and that is important.

AdvertisingWhile most forms of advertising can be quite expensive there are still ways to make it work for you.

Some practitioners advertise in local holistic newsletters.    This may cost you upwards of $100 for a small ad, which may or may not be out of your price range.    If you are working out of a holistic healthcare center of course this cost can be split between practitioners there or paid for by the center.    If you work alone you pay for advertising yourself but you also reap all the benefits.

Some practitioners advertise online.    This is a very cost effective way to advertise yourself and some websites will generate a lot of traffic and new business for you.   One of the biggest, affordable, and most visited sites is the Body Mind Spirit Directory.

Resources:

About.com reiki practitioner directory http://healing.about.com/cs/reiki/a/reiki_us.htm         Body Mind Spirit Directory http://www.bodymindspiritdirectory.org         By Region Healers network http://www.byregion.net/index.shtml         Circle of Healers Holistic directory http://www.circleofhealers.com/directory/        Global Reiki Association http://thegra.org/findmember.html         International Natural Healers Assoc http://www.reikiblessings.com/us.html        Reiki Med Research http://www.reikimedresearch.com        Reiki Page of Practitioners on the Internet http://reiki.7gen.com/directory/

It's also a very good idea to get yourself some business cards and brochures or flyers.   While  professional looking

Page 45: soulsongandhumandesign.weebly.comsoulsongandhumandesign.weebly.com/.../1/0/7/8/1078… · Web viewIntroduction. A few things before we start: Reiki Will Never Do Any Harm. It is pure,

business cards may cost you about $100 you can get nice looking free business cards at Vista Print at http://www.vistaprint.com.

For brochures and flyers you might choose to hire a publisher to print them for you or you might choose to create your own brochures and flyers.

And then the question arises where do you place these business cards, flyers, and brochures once you've got them?   Good places are metaphysical bookstores, holistic healthcare centers, community bulletin boards.  Always remember to ask the owner whether you can post or place your material there otherwise you will not be generating good public relations.

Other ways to advertise yourself are by word of mouth, reiki T shirts, holistic and metaphysical fairs, workshops, and via exchanges with other holistic practitioners.   Volunteering is also a good way to get out the word about your services.    Many hospitals, hospices, and clinics allow volunteers to come in and do reiki with their patients and this is a very good way to get some word of mouth advertising going.

Professional organizations

It's also a good idea to join a professional reiki organization.   All of these can be easily found on the Internet and these include The International Association of Reiki Professionals, The Reiki Alliance, the International Reiki Healers Association, the International Natural Healers Association, the Global Reiki Association and many others.

Second Degree (Advanced) Healing

Posted by Hummingbird on October 16, 2011 at 5:20pm in RBA: Reiki Master Course

Back to RBA: Reiki Master Course Discussions

All the methods described below can be done with absentee healing using a pillow as the person’s body.

Past-life healing.  The objective is to go to their head and activate the power symbol, the mental symbol, the absentee symbol, then the power symbol again. When you have done this, ask that you make contact with their higher mind and ask that it assist you in healing any ongoing issues from their past-lives.

1. Close your own eyes, relax and allow the energy to flow through you and into your patient or yourself if you are doing a self healing.

2. Most of the time, many people feel a sense of heaviness enter their body. You, as the healer, will feel this sense of heaviness and you know that you have connected to their past- life trauma. Some see themselves entering a tunnel of light. Allow yourself to feel any emotions and allow your third eye to show you any visions that may come through.

3. Ask that their higher mind remove the negative reactions that they are still carrying out in this life time.

4. Request the higher mind to bring back all the positive qualities and wisdom that the person has attained in their life times.

5. Sit for a while, still keeping the energy flowing, and then slowly bring you hands out into their aura above their crown Chakra. Activate the power symbol, the absentee symbol and then the power symbol again. Still in the aura above their crown, allow the Reiki energy to flow through their aura. See it clearing away the past - life trauma.

6. Visualise that all their acquired positive knowledge is flowing through them, awakening them to their hidden self. When you sense this has been done, flick away any negative build up that may be present in their aura.

7. When this is completed, ground them with the grounding symbol. Thank their higher mind and activate the power symbol to protect them from any healing crisis that they may experience. The results should be instantaneous.

8. The person should sense a feeling of lightness of being.

9. Next, go to the rest of the body and beam their Chakras just above their body in the aura. Check to see if there is any past-life memory that may be stored within their aura. If you sense that there is a build up, apply the symbols as you did to the head and flick out any negativity. Afterwards, cleanse and balance the Chakras and aura and then close them up.

Inner Child Healing. This method of healing focuses on a person’s childhood issues and brings them to the surface to be faced and healed.

1. Starting at the head, activate the power symbol, the mental symbol, the absentee symbol and then the power symbol again.

2. Request that you make contact with their inner child and their higher mind. The inner child will help you to delve into their childhood and bring forth any emotional trauma to the surface. The higher mind will then help you to remove the issue in order to help the person to heal. When you feel that you have made contact, allow the energy to flow through you and into them.

3. Sit there for a while, open your intuition and allow their inner child to communicate with you. Talk to their inner child through your mind. You can encourage them with positive words or even positive feelings that you send through to them from your heart. No words are needed to be spoken out loud.

4. All this communication is through telepathy. Your thoughts and feelings pass through their body and on to their spiritual level.

5. You can encourage them to breathe through their pain and encourage them to let go of their fears and trauma. All this is communicated through each others minds.

6. Every so often while this is going on, you can activate the power symbol. You may also wish to activate the absentee symbol and help to go back into their past to heal the present situation. As time goes by, their pain will be

removed and it will become like a distant memory. This helps them to move quickly through any issues that they may be holding onto. When you feel that you have helped them enough, gently ground them.

7. Next, move to the other Chakras and starting with the heart, activate the power symbol, the mental symbol, the absentee symbol, then the power symbol again. Ask that their inner child opens and releases so that the person can re-discover the joy that they have been missing in their lives.

8. Continue downwards through each Chakra until you reach their feet. Ground them and then close them off.

9. This healing procedure takes several sessions and sometimes they may need to talk to you about their feelings. Be compassionate and listen, but do not become involved in their pain. Whenever they feel out of control, always place them on the table and do this procedure until they have cleared through their issues.

Spiritual healing method.  This healing procedure is for the purpose of opening a person up to their spirituality. It also opens them to their other senses such as clairvoyance, telepathy and intuition and allows them access to their personal soul records. This type of healing clears away any spiritual blocks and repairs any DNA coding damage that may have been inflicted on us by other beings. This allows us to grow into the type of beings we are supposed to become. It clears the way for our future generations to help fix the damage that has already occurred.

1. Before you begin this type of healing, activate your power symbol, then your absentee symbol, then your power symbol again. Request that this healing will be a spiritual healing and ask that all blockages and damage be removed from yourself or your patient.

2. Starting at the feet, move along the body and beam the aura. Feel for any blockages, and if you find any, gently remove them by flicking them out of the aura. You can even gently blow away the negativity using your breath. When you have done this, go to their head and again activate the symbols and the request for a spiritual healing. Work on their head and occasionally move above their head and go into their aura above the third eye and crown Chakra.

3. When this is done, do a simple Chakra balancing on all their Chakras and then close them off.

4. Afterwards you may wish to tell them of your own personal experience of their healing. Also encourage them to talk about their experience with you.

These healings will open their senses, make them more aware of their environment and open their creativity. It will help them to communicate with their personal guides and they will also become open to the hidden knowledge and wisdom that is recorded inside them. This healing is also good for removing any negative spirits or energy that has clouded their soul and closed them down. They stop behaving negatively and become more loving and compassionate of themselves, their world and of the universal consciousness.

Grounding and Balancing. This procedure uses the power symbol and the grounding symbol to balance, ground and align all of their energy centres.   This method of healing is used when you need to work on a certain area that is sick and filled with negative blockages or energy. By aligning all the Chakras and balancing them, you can promote faster healing than any other procedure used in this book.

This method also allows you to work on the infected area for a longer period of time. You do not have to feel guilty about missing out on any other areas when you use this procedure. This procedure does not take long because you are using the power symbol to send greater amounts of energy into their body.

1. To do this procedure, return to the base Chakra and activate your power symbol, then your grounding symbol, then your power symbol again. Place your hands on their Chakra and for a minute or two, Reiki the area. If you feel the need, activate the power symbol over and over as many times as you like. This helps to bring more energy into their body. You can also do this procedure while working above the body in the aura as well.

2. Continue this procedure all the way up to their head. Remember also to do their feet Chakras and activate their thymus Chakra as well. This helps to remove any negative blockages through their feet and it also aligns their inner child and higher mind through the thymus Chakra.

3. When this is done, go to the area that needs the most healing energy and spend as much time there as you feel guided to. Once all this is done, do not forget to close them using the zipping up method.

Past Life.  If a person has problems or issues they cannot move through, activate a past life healing, by unlocking their cellular memory that stores their past life experiences. To do this give them a healing on a table. When they are relaxed and calm, go to the head and follow these directions:

Page 48: soulsongandhumandesign.weebly.comsoulsongandhumandesign.weebly.com/.../1/0/7/8/1078… · Web viewIntroduction. A few things before we start: Reiki Will Never Do Any Harm. It is pure,

1. Place your right hand on their third eye Chakra. Place your left hand on the top of their crown In your mind draw the Choku-Rei symbol and state: I wish to unlock a past life that is causing pain or illness to the person. Then draw the Hon-Sha-Ze-Sho-Nen symbol then the Choku-Rei symbol. Wait until you feel the energy flowing through. Then draw the Sei-Hei-Ki symbol and ask in your mind that the problem be healed.

2. If you are open enough you may see or feel things from the persons past life. Do not be afraid to discuss it with the person after the healing eg. you may see that they may have drowned in a past life. By telling them about it you may discover that they have a fear of water and drowning, but they could never understand why. When you have finished draw the Choku-Rei symbol and ask to close up the past life that you opened. You do not have to say anything out aloud. Speak to the person in your mind. They will hear you.

Chakra Clearing.

Whenever you find a symptom related to the functioning of a main chakra, you should treat this chakra as a special position. This means you would treat it in addition, for at least ten minutes, to the whole-body treatment. You may use the power symbol to increase the flow of the spiritual life energy (Reiki) and the mental healing symbol for harmonizing and developing the belief patterns of that energy organ.

To treat a chakra you should not place your hand on the body, because Reiki is always pulled in by the body and so a lot of the healing energy will not reach the chakra. By placing your hand at a distance of about ten to fifteen centimeters (four to six inches) above the front side of the body you will direct most of the Reiki to the chakra. The seventh chakra should be treated the same way but above the top of the head. The first chakra should be treated the same way, but from below.

Often, problems with a chakra are related to a block between itself and the spiritual energy channels of the spine. Therefore, it is helpful to treat a chakra from the front side and at the point on the spine where it connects to the other chakras through the spinal energy channels. To treat the back of a main chakra most effectively try each of two ways and then use the one which is most effective: give Reiki either with two or three fingers directly to the spine, or using the whole flat hand above the spine without touching the body.

Before you start to treat, rub your palms together until you feel that they are energized. Now direct your palms to the main chakra which you would like to treat from front and back. Move your hands a little bit up and down until a clear sensation of the emanation of the energy organ occurs. Many healers find it easier to develop good contact to a client's chakra by guiding their breath to their own hara region, which is situated about two fingerbreadths below the navel. Always move your hands a little bit to create maximum Reiki emanation to the chakra.

The Healing circle.  This can be used with a group of people whom all have Reiki Second Degree. If someone is very ill and needs an absentee healing you can form a circle, all holding hands and activate your Reiki Second Degree.

If a person has problems or issues they cannot move through, activate a past life healing, by unlocking their cellular memory that stores their past life experiences. To do this give them a healing on a table. When they are relaxed and calm, go to the head and follow these directions:

Other Forms of Reiki

When Hawayo Takata brought Reiki to the Western world, the ways of Reiki were passed down orally rather than written so that there became some leeway in interpretation.  Several variations of Reiki were developed and you'll want to know about them in case your students ask or need to know about them.  In fact, when the symbols were first identified, they were only written down briefly so they could be memorized and then the papers were destroyed.  For a time, no papers on Reiki existed intact.

After Hawayo Takata died, there was a split into two camps of the twenty-two Masters that had been initiated by Takata.  Phyllis Lei Furomoto, the granddaughter of Takata claimed she was the Grand Master of Reiki.  She helped form the Reiki Alliance.  In addition, Barbara Weber Ray claimed to be the successor of the Holders of the Intact Master Keys of Reiki.  She founded the American Reiki Association, which she later named the Radiance Technique International Association.

Usui Ryoho.  This is the form of Reiki traditionally associated with Mikao Usui.  It is still practiced in Japan and teaches spiritual development and self healing through empowerments and meditations.  The empowerments are used instead of the attunements in order to clear and open the Reiki passages. Reiju is the empowerment process used by Usui to pass Reiki to his students.  It is the process that came from the enlightenment Usui received on Mt. Kurama in 1921.

Usui Shiki Ryoho.  This is a system that came out of the Usui-Hayashi lineage.  It is the traditional Usui System of Natural Healing that made its way through Hawayo Takata to the United States through her teachings.  The principles taught in this manual are based upon the fundamental teachings of this system, including its principles, attunements, symbols and hand placements.

Raku Kai Reiki.  This was developed by Arthur Robertson and was designed to enhance the Reiki experience.  It was a precursor to Usui/Tibetan Reiki, Vajra Reiki, Karuna Reiki and Tera-Mai Reiki.  Raku Kai Reiki incorporates the Hui Yin, the Breath of the Fire Dragon, Kundalini breathing and other Tibetan practices.

Usui/Tibetan Reiki.  This combines several different types of Reiki, including Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki.  It was popularized by William Lee Rand and Diane Stein and has four levels of training.  The four levels are Reiki I, Reiki II, Reiki IIIa, and Reiki III/Master.  It also includes techniques like the use of crystal grids, guides, healing attunement, psychic surgery, meditations and Tibetan symbols.

Trademarked Systems

There are several dozen trademarked Reiki systems that allow the owner of the trademark to exclusively use that form of Reiki.   Space does not allow us to discuss all of them however here are a few of them:

Authentic Reiki is also called Real Reiki and the Radiance Technique.  It was invented by Dr. Barbara Weber Ray, who claimed that the complete Usui Reiki Keys were passed down to her prior to Takata's death.

Tera-Mai Reiki combines Usui Reiki and Seichem. Seichem is an Egyptian energy-based healing system whose name comes from the Egyptian word "Sekhem" which means power or energy.  Together they form four components:  Reiki, which is earth, and the other three elements of Seichem like sakara (fire), sophi-el (water) and angelic light (air). Tera-Mai is a trademark of Kathleen Milner, who was guided by spirit to update traditional Reiki and to modernize attunements and the symbols.  Tera-Mai Masters are not permitted to pass attunements in any other Reiki or Seichem system.  All Tera-Mai master are instructed to adapt to any changes in the Tera-Mai system as they are brought in from the Spirit through Kathleen Milner.

Karuna Reiki is the registered trademark form of Reiki that is owned by William Lee Rand.  Rand and his students developed Karuna Reiki after experimenting with the symbols gathered by Reiki Masters he had met.  Karuna

Reiki is also known as the Reiki of Compassion.  In Karuna Reiki, there are two levels, two attunements, four master symbols and eight treatment symbol.  During a Reiki treatment, the practitioner chants and intones the names of these symbols.  You need prior Reiki Master status before you can study Karuna Reiki.

Lightarian Reiki was introduced in 1997 through the channeling of Jeannine Marie Jelm, a spiritual counselor and conscious channel for the Ascended Masters.  The idea is to awaken people to six higher vibrational bands of Reiki energies.  Via the channeling, it has been suggested that this represents the six highest bands of a total of eight vibrational bands in the Reiki spectrum.  No symbols are used and there are four levels of attunement.

Transformational Reiki is taught as the first level of Reiki Mystery School, which is two day class taught by Karyn and Steve Mitchell.  Transformational Reiki introduces serious Reiki students to the interdimensional Chakra system and the interdimensional bodies that lead them beyond the structure and limitations of the physical body.  Students are taught about a healing field of energy called the Unisonium where two people together create a more intense potential for healing energy.  Meditations are taught including the following:  Meeting your interdimensional guide, Interdimensional Chakras, The Soul's purpose, and Meeting into the Unisonium

Wei Chi Tibetan Reiki was apparently rediscovered via the channeling of Kevin Ross Emery.  The channeling entity was believed to be that of a 5000 year old Tibetan Monk named Wei Chi.  He was apparently the originator of the Reiki system thousands of years ago.  In this system, the recipient and practitioner hold a dialogue during, before and after the healing takes place.  The practitioner channels Reiki energies but intuits information from the recipient himself.  A third person takes notes or a tape recorder records the information communicated during the session.  There are no sequenced hand placements in this form of Reiki.  The practitioner puts his hands wherever he intuitively wants to place them.  At the end, they lay out a plan of action as to how the recipient can continue the healing action. The recipient must acknowledge that she is responsible for everything that happens in her life and the recipient must be willing to participate in her own healing.

Gendai Reiki Ho was founded by Sensai Hiroshi Doi and it involves a Japanese style of Reiki.  It includes some Western influences and uses the influences of other healing modalities.  There are four levels of teaching in Gendai Reiki Ho.

Karuna Ki was developed by Vincent P. Amador is also called the Way of Compassionate Energy.  It is unassociated with Karuna Reiki and is a culmination of "healing art" and "meditative practices".  Amador didn't trademark his methods, allowing teachers to add information to his basic teachings.

Kundalini Reiki is an easy to use healing technique that requires no intensive study or complicated procedures.  In its attunements, chakras are opened wider in order to allow Kundalini Energy to flow more easily and fully through the body.  It was introduced by Mr. Ole Gabrielsen, a Dane who specializes in meditation CDs.  It is the direct result of Mr. Gabrielsen's communications with the Ascended Master Kuthumi. Kundalini energy is also known as Kundalini fire.  It is a channel of energy that flows from the root chakra in the coccyx to the crown.  Having an open Kundalini means that there has been complete cleansing of the chakras and the body parts and meridians are unblocked.   In Kundalini Reiki I, there are three attunements.  In Kundalini II, the individual gets the Kundalini Awakening.  The main energy channel opens gently and the Kundalini fire is lit.  In Kundalini Reiki level III, a third Master Attunement is given.  Previous attunements are strengthened as well. The student learns to attune crystals and other objects to serve as Reiki channels.

Reiki is pure in its essence.  The fact that Reiki has many different types means that it is a functional healing property that lends itself to personal interpretation.
