For the truly great experiences there are no shortcuts. At the very heart of SOUL

lie the personal impressions and shared experiences gained during decades of

travelling. The combined results sprung from years of roaming the world, both

my own and my staff’s at SOUL. We decided bringing the magic of them together

into a collection of furniture styles that would remind us of the journeys made

and of the places we love so much.

We decided early on that the SOUL furniture needed to convey that most

important of feelings, the feel of authenticity. They have been crafted with the

simple but essential idea – that genuinely good furniture lasts and can be shared

by generations. Although the collection consists of meticulously handpicked

individual products, they also share another common bond: the furniture in each

style all fit beautifully together. We carefully combined all the different parts

so as to complement each other and make up a harmonious whole – to give that

genuine, friendly buttoned down attitude that should make you feel right at home.

The journey might be the reward but you have to start from somewhere, and

home is where we set out on our travels and return with our experiences. It is here

we gather strength and find peace, enjoy the day and dream of tomorrow. It is

that feeling SOUL wishes to convey. Home is where the heart is – and the SOUL.

It is our new lifestyle brand that comprises entire living rooms: from stylish classic lamps to distinctive solid wooden furniture, from the crisply made upholstered furniture to our range of exquisite rugs that tie each and every room together – we even lavish attention on the smallest of decorations. Mix this style with vintage chairs and those special gems you find at flea markets. If you have a passion for nature – find your accessories outside. Use seasonal accessories from your walks in the great outdoors. Stick to colour tones found in nature, and adopt a style in line with Mother Nature’s seasonal colours.

Enjoy the imperfection of rough wood. The dining table is never just for eating, it’s a gathering point for your whole family. The Granville table is quite a unique table with a lot of personality and a rough, friendly style. It most certainly adds charming character to any room.

Always consider how you wish to use your sofa! If you like to sink into your sofa, choose one with feather-filled pillows. If you prefer firmer seating, choose one with a foam filling. Use fabrics in different shades of the same colour.

A soft woollen rug will always lend a warm feeling to any room. Use sheepskin for cooling in summer and to keep you warm in winter. Sheepskins are ideal to use instead of plaids, to sit on, lay on or to use as a floor rug.

These products are made of solid wood and veneer Mindi Wood, which has a natural grainy surface. It is treated with a light brown stain and coated in clear varnish. The varnish provides a durable finish and allows any marks to be removed with a damp cloth. Beware of using solvents as these can dissolve the varnish. We recommend using table mats or trivets for hot dishes and pans, and coasters for hot cups. Any liquids should be wiped off immediately. If the varnish loses its shine, use furniture polish to buff the surface up again. Knots and small patches in this furniture lend it an authentic look, giving it the feeling we want it to have. All the glass is toughened.

The furniture in the Granville collection is the ultimate homage to craftsmanship: to the truly genuine in the living material that is wood, and to the joy of gathering family and friends together and enjoying life.

These products are made from recycled solid wood, which means that the surface may differ from product to product. This gives each individual piece a unique appearance. The surface is untreated. On occasional tables we recommend using mats to prevent liquids getting into the wood. To avoid bleaching, this furniture should not be placed in direct sunlight. If you get a mark on the surface, try rubbing it off with a damp cloth. If the mark is deeper, use fine sandpaper. This will make the surface somewhat lighter in colour. As the material is recycled, there may be a slight scent of tar.

They say that the darkened wood of the wall panels in the old library came from an enormous African tree, under which lions used to rest. Inspired by a bygone era with its finely detailed fittings, the sturdy dark lush furniture in our Colonial style will lend a flavour of the exotic to any room. Sheepskin is one of nature’s most perfect creations. The unique combination of leather on one side and wool on the other offers many benefits. Besides being beautiful to look at and pleasant to touch, sheepskin is also a natural temperature regulator that keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer.

SOUL sheepskins come from some of the most accomplished sheep farmers in Australia. We use only sheep of the type Crossbred 17 mm, which guarantees a top quality skin. Take good care of it and it will retain its good looks and magical feel for many years. Our sheepskins are ideal for upholstery and interior decoration purposes, due to their unique characteristics. The skin is by nature curly, but the character of the wool can vary in both curl and colour shade. The differences in wool character, wool density and type of wool fibres contribute to a quite uneven uptake of dye. It is these special characteristics which make a very unique product and give each skin a special touch. In reality, there are no two identical skins.

Handmade – a word that has a special feeling and reflects our ambitions well. SOUL’s rug collection is handmade: top quality handwoven rugs. All our colours are unique to SOUL’s rug collection and have been specially created to match the rest of the SOUL range in style. Some rugs are even reversible, allowing you to quickly and easily change the mood and style of a room. The materials used in the rugs are completely natural; only these materials can make the rugs so long-lasting and offer such a delightful tactile sensation when you walk on them barefoot. We like to call them classics with a twist.

SOUL participates in an initiative against illegal child labour which also supports people working in carpet production. By doing this children receive a free education in schools in India, Nepal and Pakistan. The schools also have a woman empowerment centre, where women learn to sew to improve their job prospects and help their families. When you buy a SOUL carpet, you are contributing to the building and maintenance of schools in India.
