What is the best governing way? Is the existence of a state necessity? How can we legalize obeying the political authority? What is justice? How can we implement it? We will ask all these questions whilst examining the philosophers who also tried to find an answer to these questions. There is police force in the center of political construction in ancient times. Virtue comes first in this accepted political system. However, in the basis of the medieval system, there comes the feudalism first. During this period, religion had its stronger effects whilst theological comments were being made. In modern era, we see there is nation-state. Now, the science comes first and it is important to examine life and society through scientific methods.

Spatial practices have relations with the social practices as it is the case with all other practices. Social identities and spatial experiences determine and shape each other. Within the context of this course, we will follow the traces of our experiences, belongings and exclusions ranging from micro spaces to macro spaces and we will try to analyse forms of relationships between society and space.
