THE SORBACT-METHOD

is based on the natural process

hydrophobic interaction.

This means that two hydrophobic (water

repellent) surfaces bind together in the

presence of exudate. The majority of

pathogenic microorganisms are

hydrophobic and bind to the dressings.

The Method is effective in decreasing the risk of infection in “clean” wounds, cleansing exuding,

colonised to infected wounds and fungal infections in skin folds.

EFFECTIVENESS OF THE SORBACT - METHOD Already within 30 seconds* the Sorbact-method will bind and eliminate a significant amount of common

microorganisms such as Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In addition, bacteria and

fungus will continue to bind to Sorbact until the dressing is removed from the wound providing a long

lasting effect.

SAFETY OF THE SORBACT - METHOD Not only is Sorbact effective in eliminating common wound pathogens, the product range is also

extremely safe to use for the patients, as well as for hospital personnel. With Sorbact you achieve

desired positive therapeutic results without any undesired side effects such as:

HOW TO USE THE ABSORPTION DRESSING:

Always apply the green hydrophobic side of the Sorbact Dressing in direct contact

with the wound surface. This is to ensure the binding of microorganisms to the

dressing.

FOR DEEP WOUNDS - Combine absorption dressing with a Sorbact Compress

or Ribbon Gauze.

APPLICATION - High to moderately exuding wounds.

A Swab with Sorbact’s bacteria and fungus binding effect.

Suitable for dressing minor cavities. The green wound dressing works

without chemical agents. The swab can also be used for wound cleansing, as

bacteria bind to the surface already after 15 seconds of contact.

The gel dressing is easy to handle and enables treatment of dry wounds.

Sorbact surgical dressing with double effect. The Surgical Dressing is a film

dressing with pad and Sorbact’s bacteria and fungus binding effect. The

dressing protects and reduces risk of infection in “clean wounds”.


Apply the dressing over the wound and gently removethe guide film by pulling

the blue colored marking.

APPLICATION – Post-operative or as wound protection. Also suitable as

secondary dressing in combination with Sorbact gel.

An anti-microbial wound care dressing with Sorbact's bacterial and fungus

FOR DEEP, EXUDING WOUNDS - Fluff one or more compresses and

place directly into the wound (avoid packing), then cover with absorption

dressing.

FOR FUNGAL INFECTIONS - Place an unfolded compress directly into

Foam dressing with Sorbact´s bacterial and fungal binding property.

The dressing is suitable for use in mild to moderate exuding wounds.

Sorbact Foam consists of acetate fabric coated with a unique specially

designed microorganism binding substance, laminated on polyurethane foam

with a semi permeable film backing.

The dressing is confortable and pressure relieving.

HOW TO USE SORBACT FOAM DRESSING:

Apply the dressing directly on the wound surface with the green side to the

wound surface.

Secure the dressing with suitable fixation.

Note that the green Sorbact fabric has to have direct contact with the wound

surface.

The dressing can be cut in a desirable shape or size. Application on areas such as heals or elbows, it is recommended to cut tabs

in the corners.

Dressing changes, depending on exudate level, daily to twice weekly.
