BACKGROUND

SingHealth Translational Immunology and Inammation Centre (STIIC) is a multi-dimensional translational clinical research programme that aims to develop translational immunology in Singapore.

STIIC uses the Immunomics platform – a powerful and dynamic model – to study the regulation of the immune system. This is by integrating information from several high throughput technologies, including multiple phenotypical assays.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Support researchers by exploring, designing and developing individual translational research projects in several clinical areas.

Drive basic research with the adoption of best practices in the community, through observations in the clinic.

Keep the clinical research community informed about discoveries made during laboratory research.

COLLABORATION OPPORTUNITIES

We collaborate with researchers and clinician-scientists on clinically important medical conditions, through translational studies on immunology and inammation. Translational research bridges unmet needs between the knowledge of basic sciences and its translation into medical practice and meaningful health outcomes.

Aims:

Identify unmet clinical needs that are addressable via immunology research tools.

Create enough critical mass for a knowledge base that leads to tangible project proposals with high translational potential.

Establish a network of clinicians and researchers, each contributing unique expertise and driving successful grant applications.

We are engaged in international Translational Medicine activities with:

Eureka Institute

UCAN-U(trecht): UCAN-U is the rst platform of the Understanding Childhood Arthritis Network (UCAN)

Paediatric Rheumatology International Trials Organisation (PRINTO)

Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA)

Queen Mary University of London

University Medical Center Utrecht

Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center
