Step 1 — Battery

The battery is located on the leftside of the laptop as shown by thered circle.

Pull the plastic cover down(indicated by the arrow on the cover)and then swing it upwards to revealthe battery compartment.

The battery can now be removed bypulling it.

Step 3 — Keyboard

Use your Philips #00 screwdriver tounscrew the small screwcounterclockwise. This screw is forthe audio/visual jacks on the left sideof the laptop.

Step 4

This will unlock the cover betweenthe keyboard and screen. Gentlyslide it to the right and lift up. Besure not to pull the keyboard hard asthere are still wires attached. Thesewires will be dealt with in the nextstep.

Lift up the cover and lean it againstthe display so it is out of the way forthe rest of the process.

Remove the small screw above theF6 key on the keyboard. Placescrew in container to ensure it wontbe lost.

Step 6

Find the green ribbon as indicated inthe picture by the red circle. This iswhat connects the keyboard to themotherboard.

To unplug the ribbon cable, use apair of tweezers to lift up the whitebar near the connection to themotherboard. Only lift up the ribbonlightly to release ribbon from themotherboard.

Step 8

Now, you can pull on the ribbon cable and it will detach from the motherboard.
