BASICS

Jesus went from town to town preaching about the Kingdom of God. With each teaching, He kept painting a more vivid picture of that Kingdom. There must be a compelling reason

why He prioritised the clarification of that vision in the minds of His listeners. Why was His message called the ‘Gospel of the Kingdom’? What is the ‘good news’ He proclaimed? If you

think it’s merely the salvation of our souls, think again. There is more.

3 LIVING THE KINGDOM LIFE

2 ORIGINAL DESIGN

We explore the different Christian views of the kingdom of God – a physical kingdom, a spiritual kingdom, a kingdom here and now,

a kingdom that is to come. As we come to a biblical understanding of the kingdom of God, the ‘good news’ Jesus came to proclaim becomes obvious, as does the core purpose of our lives.

• Definition of the Kingdom of God• Understanding our call to disciple the nations• Meta-narrative of the Kingdom in the Scriptures• Gospel of the Kingdom Vs. Gospel of Salvation

Qns: What is the Gospel of the Kingdom?

We explore the vision of His restored Kingdom by looking through three scopes: First, God’s original design of all things. Second, the

design of Heaven. Third, biblical prophecies of His kingdom on Earth. With that, we learn about God’s redemption plan that started at the Cross of Jesus Christ, and how we are to partner with Him in this.

Qns: What does the Kingdom look like?

• Heart of God as a Redeemer & Restorer• Original design & Heavenly design of all things• Prophetic Visions of the Restored Kingdom• Redemption begins with the Cross of Jesus Christ

Qns: How do we live as a Kingdom citizen?

To His disciples, Jesus entrusts the keys of His kingdom. We learnhow to establish His glorious reign here on Earth through these

keys. Jesus creatively but systematically mentored His disciples to live the kingdom lifestyle. We learn about His mentoring strategy relevant for us today.

• Envision of the Kingdom through the beatitudes• Discover the keys of the Kingdom• Jesus’s lifestyle & mentoring strategy• Forming Kingdom communities

4 BREAKING UNHEALTHY CYCLES

Our God holds many titles befitting His great deeds and loving nature. Yet, there is a title before all of these that He has held for all eternity: Father. Jesus Himself came to intro-

duce us to God as our Father. Today, many believers relate to God as a condemning Judge, a lofty King, or even a self-seeking tyrant. With such misconceptions, no wonder our faith is

shaky and our lives filled with fear.

We expound on the greatest commandments to love the Lord our God and discover the truths hidden with-

in concerning the need of our hearts. This insight is the first pound of the hammer to break cycles of habitual sins meant to numb the pain of those unmet needs.

Our impressions of our Heavenly Father come from the knowledge of our Earthly father figures in our childhood

years. From our fathers, we derive our identities, our sense of significance, and our feeling of security. We take time to ex-pose and repent of the lies we have believed about our Heaven-ly Father and form an accurate, biblical image of Him.

When we grow up as if we do not have a loving heavenly Father, we develop orphan-hearted ways. Spiritual or-

phans get anxious easily, always striving to stay in control and fighting hard to make a name for themselves. Spiritual sons, on the other hand, are rested, faith-filled and secure in their identities as the beloved of God.

Every tree has a root system from which it draws nutrients and grows. Our irrational fears and sinful behaviours op-

erate in the same way. The roots are the lies of the enemy sown into our hearts and minds during significant incidences in our lives. To truly overcome, we need to cut off the tree at its roots, replacing ungodly beliefs with Godly truths.

• Re-looking at the two commandments to love God & others• Symptoms of the heart with unmet needs• Repentance from unhelpful coping mechanisms• Receiving love from God through ministry

• Fatherlessness as the core problematic issue in society• Broken relationships with earthly fathers• Re-aligning the image of our Heavenly Father• Forgiveness of our earthly father

• Living out of fear vs. living out of faith and love• Comparison between spiritual sons & spiritual orphans• Identifying key orphan strongholds in our local culture• Receiving truth about our identity

• Identifying and breaking shame-fear-control cycles• Identifying and breaking bitter judgment cycles• Ministering God’s love to past painful incidents• Receiving God’s perspective about ourselves & others

103HEARING

GOD’SVOICE

Jesus identifies Himself as the good Shepherd, and the sons and daughters of God are His sheep. He

declares that His sheep have the God-given ability to hear His voice. It is neither an acquired skill or the

exclusive right of an elite group. Just like how we can hear with our physical ears, it was always meant to be a

natural ability.

1 DISCERNING THE VOICE OF GOD

We explore the different Christian views of the kingdom of God – a physical kingdom, a spiritual kingdom, a

kingdom here and now, a kingdom that is to come. As we come to a biblical understanding of the kingdom of God, the ‘good news’ Jesus came to proclaim becomes obvious, as does the core purpose of our lives.

• Understanding our God as a good Shepherd, Lover, Father.• Discerning between the different voices• Identifying key traits of God’s voice

2 FOUR SIMPLE STEPS TO HEAR GOD

We teach you 4 basic biblical keys to hearing His voice on a daily basis. Drawing lessons from the prophet Habak-

kuk and the teachings of Christ, we lean into listening to His voice. At the end of this session, every participant should be able to journal down God’s thoughts toward them.

• Learning to still our hearts in a noisy world• Making sense of the words & pictures we receive• Understanding the flow of the Spirit• Journaling our dialogue withGod

3 DIFFERENT WAYS GOD SPEAKS

Our God speaks to us typically through ‘a still small voice’ and the peace of God that guides our hearts. However,

there are many other creative ways He communicates with us. Knowing us perfectly, our Father communicates with us in ways through which we will understand His message to us ad-equately.

• Exploring the most common ways God speaks to us• Learning about the extraordinary ways He communicates• Discovering God’s leading & direction for our lives• Question & answer session

4 HEARING GOD FOR SOMEONE ELSE

Many teachers of God’s word have experiences in which they unknowingly spoke into the specific life situations

of their listeners. Similarly, many believers have been led by the Spirit to pray for specific people about specific matters previ-ously unknown to them. God is eager for us to minister to one another by encouraging each other with His loving revelations.

• Speaking the message in love to encourage, exhort & correct• The dynamics of revelation, interpretation & delivery• Safeguards & helpful pointers• Step-by-step activation exercises

LIVING THE KINGDOM LIFE

INTRODUCTION

It took us two hours to fly from Kathman-du, Nepal’s capital, to its shared border

with India. From there, it was another gru-eling eight hours of border crossing by van to our destination. This was a faster route that took us through an uncommon entry point only the local traders and smugglers used. Our mission team was asked to minister to a covert network of pastors and youth leaders, many of whom traveled for days from Bhutan, Nagaland, and various parts of north India. Undoubtedly, they came desperately hungry for all that God had planned for them. For the next three days, the Father respond-ed faithfully to the cries of the humble. We preached the gospel of the kingdom and the Father showed up with miraculous healings to confirm His Word. Excitement filled the room with each healing testimony. I could tell from their responses that some of them had never once seen a supernatural healing in their lives. Experiencing the reality of God marked a new chapter in their person-al journey with Him. We knew it would go on to impact the villages they ministered to as well. You’d imagine we devoted most of our time teaching on healing and miracles. Or perhaps on learning how to flow in the anointing. We touched on none of those topics. In-stead, we spent the entire time simply un-packing the good news of His Kingdom. We spoke of the love of our Father in send-ing His Son to the Cross to redeem us – His beloved sons and daughters. As His family on Earth, we fulfill His heart’s desire to re-deem every single family, tribe, and nation to Himself. In doing so, we establish His heavenly kingdom here on Earth.

Today in my travels, I see a generation so eager to move in the power of God.

They are so hungry to experience the mirac-

ulous. In response to that hunger, the Lord is pouring out His Spirit on His sons and daughters in an unprecedented way. Yet at the same time, I see this same generation more emotionally wounded and sexually broken than any other generation. There is a deafening cry from their hearts for the love of a perfect Father. They are cry-ing out to hear the Father’s affirmation of their worth and their identity: “You are my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.”

God is eager to answer the cry of that little child.

As I preached to the Indian youth lead-ers, the Holy Spirit led us to sing a love

song to our Father. At the end of the song, I started crying out “Paaaa…” which is how I would address my earthly father. I knew the Spirit was stirring us from within to cry out to our heavenly Father the way we would cry out as a child to our earthly fathers. One by one, the voices in the room grew from soft whimpering whispers to loud, heart-wrenching sobs as they broke down

in tears and cried out for their Papa God. The Father came and began ministering to their hearts. The same thing happened a few days later at our conference in Nepal. One young man shared with me that he got saved two years ago when a missionary came to his village. Out of his family of ten, he and his young-er brother were the only two who came to Christ. Because his father was the chief Buddhist monk in his village, they had a difficult time until they came to the city for work. He confessed that he had never per-sonally experienced God’s love. During our session, he was weeping and screaming out “Papa!” on his knees for an hour. He shared with us later that he saw a vision of the Father coming and holding him in His arms. In the vision, as the Father put him down and started walking away, he cried out “Papa!” and the Father would re-turn and hold him once again. This hap-pened over and over again in the vision un-til the Father told him: “Every single time you call out to Me, I will come to you.”

When I returned from Nepal, the Lord led me to write this book as a train-

ing manual for the emerging revivalists in Asia. While other training manuals typical-ly equip us with methods of ministry work, this one introduces the sons of God to their identities in His kingdom family. With that foundation, we live out the gospel of the kingdom by turning our families, our schools, our communities, and our work-places into realms of heaven on Earth. In these realms of love, no sickness or disease can thrive, no fear, hatred or bitterness can take root, and no demonic influence can prevail.

In these last days, God is raising sons and daughters who would walk in intimacy

with Him and wholeheartedly pursue His dreams for them. Our Father, along with all of Creation, is eagerly waiting for the revelation of His mature sons. They will re-deem, restore, and possess all the nations of the Earth as their inheritance.
