where the stars above dream of passionand the earth beside dreams of laughterand water around soars feeling through my veins

I close my eyes again and go inside

there beneath the mask I worewas only that which was leftbare and gently standingbefore my Father

breathing again and not covered in layersfull of love that I would have this chanceto be maskless and vulnerable

for to the world a loving heart

    is not normalor understood

reaching into dark placeslike bears awakening from hibernationand groundhogs peeping through the earthto see the first light from the sun

    we rise through our holes

we come from all religion and no religionsent to infiltrate every last mindclinging to stand firm in the dreams they worshipto all we carry the messageof peace

we use words and no wordswe come in all forms and speak different tonguesas words could never represent the true meaningof that of which we singthey act only as reminders

the song remains the sameand gladly we sing

my prayer is this -the blessed moment of each brother risingfinding the voice of peacethat we may see the vision

our very hearts both wordless and wordedwould carry to every mind in a peace less placeas the sound reaches through all thingsand as each brother risesso we multiply not in a linear fashionbut exponentially

let us not question the songin an attempt to be either bold or humble

for the song is meant only be sung as it comes to our heartsfor through us the song of our Fathermay reach those in darkplaces

    positive

positive is like a cookie I achievedfull of delight and joy and then gone

all physical form ends in a neutral state

peace is like the earth beneath my feet when I walkI feel it everywhere and when I forget what becomes meSpirit is met and to this I return as I roll along its belly

if I could take off this skin you will see a scar upon my heartand you would see the memory of a man who knows what it is liketo die in anger and hatred

and when the world holds out an offeringa token of some form of a gift from itit is meaningless to the deeper part of me

I have seen leaders like puppets dangling in the faces of the worldand watched people argue their sides

when I close my eyes I see great leaders beside a campfireand they were our chosen because they had not lied to us, even once

when I open my eyes I do not discriminate from the ways of this worldI see every gift and I smilebut for a different reason

to cry tears after a pay raise and know the reason I criedwas because it could not change who I was any more thanif my very job was taken

if you see trace lines of past painit does not haunt meI carry it like an old friend and memory of that which

lost what was once my faith in the world and its ways

when I see you I see myselfsometimes so much so these words could not tell youit bursts out of me and Spirit dancesas I watch both grateful and confused

I know many have not struggled with the same demonsinter-dimensional confusion and painbut I kneel down and say this

if peace is not what one seeks I cannot make sense

a man who in the beginning wanted nothing morethan to not die in anger

the road has carried me far beyond what I knewto be possible inside

and I will only kneel before this soft heartagain and again

walk with me and I will walk with you

as our Father may guide us to just one more

    Amen

    the dreams and the dreamer

he sold me his dreamsI bought them for myself

they danced like candies to a childbright and tastyone day, one fine day they would bloom

the taste was sweet but alwaysleft me hungrier for moreand when they were goneI sat alone and waited for his return

one day at about twentyI had my first dream of stillnessthe peace penetrated my being untilI did not know if I was on that beachor lying in my bed

he sold me his dreamsof greatness and successI hung them like clothes on a lineacross the yards of my mind

his images hypnotized meand I believed there was something for meI could keep and hold foreverit was only a matter of time

one day I saw through his eyesand I bought not one dream more

the colors faded to darknessand the stories unfolded in the lie of hopein tomorrow

hope cannot anchor in the sea of peacefor it implies a lackand spirit lacks nothing

he still shows me his great dreamsbut I buy none anymore

sacrifice of the ego's dreamI imagined a good old fashioned gunfightalong a hot southern dirt road by a saloonjust me and him

I had wrestled my own mind for yearsand deep down always doubtedI could best the darker pullof remaining the shell of myself

there were times I wondered if hewould returnbut I always knew he would

one day I saw a table setin my own homeand realized it was I who set the table

It was like my best and worst friendwhom I hated and lovedI saw too much of a sacrificein losing what we had built

no world to blame anymoreno forced illusionjust my own wretchednesshoping he still had something for me

one day a door was openedlike uncovering OzI saw what he was

chained and boundhurt and in paindark and thrashing

there was no final battleor great tale for me to speak ofand what was once seen as a sacrifice

    was only a soft offering

this little seedone day was rememberedawoken in the soil of my heart

it was the song of stillness and peacethat watered it until it began to risethrough the hard cold heavy dirtsmothering like the ways of the world

but the seed knew the sunlike peace knows the Fatherand the little seed grewuntil the earth finally brokeand it smiled unto the sun

this is a visionthis is a prayer

I know nothing of how this small seedbegan to bloom with a flowerI know nothing of the miracleof life and how it has grown

this vision is a reminderI do not know what is possibleI have only seen the miracle as it is so far

the prayer is a receptionI am willing to bloomlimitless light, boundless as this once small seed

would grow as the sun would shape it

would it be harder for the sun to growa single flower than a rampant grove of beauty

would I be the judge and limitation

of this miracle I do not understand

my prayer is simpleI see in my mind the meeting of manybeautiful vines extendingunable to be contained by dirtcolors of all kinds singing, blooming, rejoicing

sandcastleswalking the shorelinewe see a young child cryas a wave washes over the sandcastle

    they built

we remember the day we oncethought it was going to last foreverand once cried at what we would smile at todayit seems so easy now

walk with me down the beachfor a minuteand let us fly into the airand smile

look and look againthat we would see sand as sandand nothing more

I remember thinking much about what Jesus meant by"give to Caesar what is Caesar's"I saw a dollar in one handand a quarter in the otherthat one would take a tree and a rockand make this bill and coin

the coin makers always get their coins backas those who seek power find itI saw only part of what these words meant

taking another step back from the palm treesand into the sky

we watch the big ball of earth we dwell uponcircling and rotating

    like food it digesting itself

nothing new is created, only recycledonly temporarily changing structuresform upon form lusting to devour so it may liveit is all the sand knowsit does not know it cannot hold its form

this is not a judgment on the tree or rock or coinfor one who knows what they arecannot be hurt by what they are notand needs not fear them

and most beautifullyas when the body is seen for what it isits blessing of its harmlessness is seen

yet the coins weigh the very soul lusting themdeep into the sandfor they do not know

what can be preserved and what cannot

moving back into the vastness we look and look again

alwayslook and look againfor the veil of what can be boundand what cannotalways will fall to reason

it is the extensiveness we do not understand in the beginningbut soon will seethe same as the sameand all sand as sand

shake the mind along the trip across the sandto peaceit may be dark and uncomfortable for a momentbut vision always comes

as we walk along the beachwe are reminded the sand itselfcomes from our Father

though many minds together who know notwhat they arecan make insane dreamsin a mad attempt to makethe sandcastles real

what cannot be changedand what can be changed

is the recognition of what we are

and blessed do we walk as we singthough few will hear what the words say

we sing until our voices have no sound

and just before the sun setsas we become tired and our hearts become heavy

we see a child build a castleand as the waves wash it awaythey only smile and build another

that they heard, that they knew, that they saw past their own eyesthe sandcastle was not forever

made every last walk and song we sangworth it

seeking in the coldonce I lived in a small wooden shackI had no heat only a candleI had no bed only a floor

but at least I had a small roof

I heard stories of a great mansion on a hillwhere no one was cold or hungryand there was room for all who would entersometimes in the darkest of nightsI thought I would see its lights glimmer through the trees

the scariest moment of my lifewas setting upon the journey of what seemed like outsidethrough the unforgiving snow, seemingly endless night, and cold winds

the hardest moments of my lifecame along this walkand so many times I missed the shackand the small roof I once hadyet I could not return

like a father to a son I grab my young hand in a dream of yesterdaythe son who was so scared for so long

wishing so badly I could have told himreminded him to look for the beacon of light as it alone

would lessen the time of confusion and walkingduring the harsh gnawing seconds I trodded

how many times did I get confusedand look to understand answers along the wayto understand the snow, the wind, and often the darknessenveloping all of the vision of my eyes

how many more days did I wander

losing sight of the simple purpose of the home I was seekingconfused in concepts and ideas slowing my travel

one day sitting in a warm room looking out the windowI had forgotten about so many things I once dreamed ofso many questions no longer did I care about

the gauge of peacethrough the pair of eyes we may see our brotherand there are only two

would they imprison us to what we are not

or release us into the peace of God

the eyes of the world meetthe eyes of Godin the middle clashing in direct contrast

the eyes of our bodywould teach us our brother remains apartas this is only what they can see

where belief in his judgment is certainand fear remains of what he would take from us

the eyes of our Fatherwould show through the insane dreamthe temporary shell of our brother would falluntil we see only ourselves in himand to place of judgment upon oneno longer is a place we attempt to sitand acceptance of a lost mindis a call only to the Father reaching through usto one in confusion and pain

as once we believed we could forgive as the forgiverthe completion of peace comes soon enough

when it is clear we could not alter the Law of the Kingdomas already fully forgiven both we and our brother stand before Itforgiveness was for us to learn the truthof what we areand in our offering of itso we learn what our brother is to us

the gauge of peacecan be seenand dreams of our brother's suffering and deatheven the most seeming deservedare replaced by the will to his peace

    the unhealed mind is split

and still sees with both pairs of eyesfear not the eyes that dream of your enemyfear not the judgment it would carrynor seeking the door in which this part of us liveslike a child these eyes

    know no other way

the beautiful song remains the samethe road to our very truth is foundin its seeking

my prayer is in our attestmentwe would forgive to unveilthe layers appearing to rest outside of what has no outsidelayer by layer both we and our brother are undone

as our Father guides and holds us

the gauge of peace is fulfilled in His visionwhen we cannot but recognize those standing before usare seen as we see ourselves

blessed may we seethrough mad dreams and unto peace

    Amen

dreams ofand in the daysyour thoughts were of a crownand winning was sign of your success

and in the nightsyour dreams spoke of a castlegold and riches one day to stumble upon

let me tell a story of a deatha most welcomed death from the memory ofa most strange dream

the dream believed peace was to be foundin the fruits of trees among woods in which I livedthe dream could not understandfruit was only fruit

the dream was dark and cold and I had terrible fearin my own failure to winit offered only nightmares of lying beside a hard lonely roadhaving given my all now tired

wanting to quit but not knowinghow

the dream knew no other way to anythinglike a madman it drove my bodyseeking for peace in the only world it knew

dreams of these I remembertheir need to prove to be lovedtheir need to be great for themselvesthe trembling of what lied within

    dreams of

quiet crept in slowlymonth by monthyear by year

dreams of peaceslow and strong like wavesbegan to wash the struggle

    and the statues cloudingthe view

our Father would show us great healingin our dreams

and when they are of, with, and joined to Himlet us be thankful

we know these dreams we sharefor they dream ofpeace

they require not a crownthey require no more earth to hoard

let us seek Him as we lie to sleepand allow His dreams oflove to enter

so we may speak of peace

let us learn of itso we may speak it

as once we had no wordsbut began to learn the tune

let us see itrecognizing of what we stand forand every day the lyricsshine before our eyes

let us read of itwhen we are confusedand hear it too

when we are still before Himso we may rejoice

once the chordssat heavy on fingersand the guitar playedso awkwardly

and our skill has but increasedsweet chords now we strumsinging words once slightly coveredand hard to find lyrics for

so we may speak itthat we have heard itand our joy when another brothercan say the words out loud

the sun shines on the fearlessthat would speak of Him

He asks not for our silencebut our willingness

with sweet peace and solid footingwe stand as who we areremembering where we are from
