    Songs for Harpocrates at Midnight

    S. A. P. - Seek Another Portal

From this sap-rich centerAll things derive, and are derived.A point of balancetoward which some strive, some sit astride.O, distant North Starand I a weary traveler.O, Sol invictus,my orbit turns back toward you.Dark moon drips with black sapred-shifted condensate

    A drink distilled from starlight

A tonic for inward sunlightI raise my glass to youMother earth, father skyTo your renewed vowsBrother comet, sister night.I sip this bitter oilFor the soldier and the silent one.Not otherwise might roses growfrom this sap-rich center.

    The Wheel

Circling within the circle we areNever in the same place:the center, close-distant, is grace-unmanifest Force, the wheels axle.

A turning, circling motion grindsearth to dust, dust into windwind that billows sails raised for exploration or piracy, wind that cross-pollinates painstakingly-bred pure strains

earth from which Adam and Natura both, in confine of one another, runas four wheels linked togetherrun on some ineffable dusty road.

    A Leap of Faith

A leap of faith alone, an invoking swirlReady I set forth into an unknown world.Blessed words I create with steady intent

From combined qualities of each element.Glorious Heaven from whence I issue subtlyThrough a desert night, I bring wisdom to thee.Divine Nature creates through fertile fermentThe continuous flow of each element

It is mercury dropped from emptinessIt is a flower that blooms in airSeparate beyond separate is the angelWho draws this flame from Gaias heart-

    and consensus reality

This mercury quenches the wand-bearerThis bloom envelops the brightest core of emptiness

Raise this wand to draw down that flameFrom the edge of without endTo illuminate

    Alice + me + then

You and me, Alice, we were best friendscrossing the line, bound, blindfolded, becoming, birthing anew

Now there is a gulf between us. Alice & Maris best girls across the schoolyard memoriesand across this gulf, Aleph, O winner of the ordealUpon your throne as Maris sells sea shells she shall wait with the cool breeze &when Alice turns back to normal sizeshe shall revive with the sea breeze gift of Yemaya, Maya, Mazu, then Yamas pall of shadein crossing that line once more, lemniscate.enter our names again as apprentices

    - then as ashlar after Ashley cannot bear the blueprints disciplinepiled-on pyramids loose as the Magisters white ashblow away over the old grey land

there awaits an ibis by the lustral waters, the putrid streambreathe deep the dust + dreamput away your ibis ways and dive deep the city watersfear not alligators or raw sewage

bear then the pain of the rat, and the alley catuntil we find the hidden stone and its cubic zirconiared as rubedo, burn rubeus accursedhang to dry on legal pillars as rainbow illusion burns above usblack fire fragrant- like Abramelin and wine, remember your first Mass?

Across midnights and byways, oh Kephra, I do remember.

When we awaken, beyond the looking-glass and wardrobewhen we awoke and the spell did dissolvewalking up to the altar, again and again -O meal and honey and oil & thenlooking at our faces in each others eyes & thenthere is no part of us that is not of the gods.

    Amen of amen, my friend.
